Not trying to be overly critical of innovation here but when designing a tank you have 3 things to balance; Mobility, Survivability, and Lethality. I’d say this one threw everything at mobility (which to be fair adds a bit to survivability). Lethality seems to be very subpar as a 30mm auto cannon could not go toe to toe with any active MBT effectively. I would however see this being an excellent platform for an ATGM Weapon System and an anti infantry weapon as that could possibly give it the edge it would need to knockout heavier enemy vehicles while still remaining light and mobile.
I was going to say ATGM patform but you beat me to it. Just imagine this thing with 8 hellfire missiles on it instead of that auto cannon turret. Ukraine, Poland and the Baltics would be lining up to buy it.
I can see this being an effective option in the middle east with the edition of some solar pannels for passive recharging. Drive it to a set waypoint where enemy presence will be likely, hunker down, start charging (maybe add an air compressor to blow off dust on pannels) and wait for enemy vehicles to roll by, take a pot shot, and skitter away. Asymmetric warfare is hell, but imagine it as a form of sentry that comes online when it detects a presence and you've got a gnarly light recon vehicle with the firepower of a unit, no human presence required. Damn I wish I were a designer for these things.

@Real Majd So the Estonian Type-x, is thought to be a support tank to support CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. It's controlled by from inside the CV90 or from a armourd vechile moving with the group, as the Type-x has been designed to have a max range of signal of 3 km, that is well good enough. Why the Estonians chose to go with the Type-x is, because then they don't have to get Main Battle tanks, that cost a lot, cost a lot to repair and maintain and have a short life span, while you can mass produce Type-x'es more easily as they have less armour. Then I don't think that we will get a one person manned tank, as having less people in a tank makes a tank less effective, as there are now more task on one person to take care of. Tank hunter sounds awesome. If it’s just a TD (tank destroyer) you could mount a much bigger gun with a lot of ammo. Auto loading ofc. And since it’s electric and might not need to be manned, you could submerge it under water without needing a snorkel or anything!
One issue with that might be control because I’m not sure how well radio transmissions travel through water but that might be able to be fixed with basically just a little fishing bobber attached to an antenna that could float to the surface when the rest was submerged. I'm gonna ask the question everyone is gonna ask: battery life? Recharge time? you'd be better off with a hybrid system... also what kinda armor is on this?

That being said, considering these people wrote backwards the caliber and cant even put shells properly,I highly doubt this will go any further than this. Not to mention that they seem to ignore the lil need of armor, passive and active protection....This looks like it could be taken out with a 20 mm gun...Not only that, but it has under protected sensors and optics and the whole mantle is exposed...Not to mention the whole frontal side of the turret is almost flat. While cool toy,not really useful in modern warfare ! There are WAY better solutions for IFV or light tank drones than this !
Lethal. Quiet, lightweight, electric, robotic. That is a killer combo. I was an m1 abrams tank crewmember. i'm telling you, if that little tank had a little bit larger main gun, watch out. Good job on the m5.
They probably mean its a new type of tank destroyer which make sense considering the acceleration on it and the fact its less noisey compared to most tanks seen today
I imagine that this wasn't designed to go up against regular tank units, but instead uses its quietness as a more stealthy scout type vehicle. I'd be interested to know what the heat signature would be like in case the opposing force has thermal optics.
I. What’s the armor rating? II. What’s it chambered in? III. How long can you drive on a single charge? IV. How long does it take to charge? V. How much does it weigh? It looks interesting, but it’s not worth any military contract if it can’t preform on par with current production tanks. I suspect that there isn’t a significant armor rating, if any at all. I also don’t see how this would be useful in combat, if it wasn’t electric then perhaps it would have more uses.
It looks to be a 30mm. I've seen another video where they explain that the weapons system can be changed out relatively fast so it could go from ground combat to anti air in about 8 hours. If this thing even costs 3 or 4 million you could get 40 of these things compared to just a company of 14 tanks. With how much it costs to train and pay crews it would be much simpler and cost effective to have these than regular heavy brigades. These thing could just blitz enemy lines, not worrying about casualties, flank and kill tanks and supply lines. It wouldn't even be fair.
Man it's been awhile since I've seen them together wow they even have the same goatee the only way I can tell them apart is they sound different from each other.
Impressive. I'm curious about the thickness of the armor to keep those electronic components safe, the ballistic capabilities of that gun, the overall weight for transportability. A use case I see for this is with tactical insertion or stealth operations. Giving those skilled stealth operatives a literal tank that checks all their boxes; small, fast, lightweight, huge ground clearance and good suspension letting the thing go pretty much anywhere, and _whsiper silent._ As long as she can take a little more than a rifle bullet eithout risk, and she has the punch to deal with threats bigger than a pickup truck with a dude in the back holding an MG, this is a hell of a success.
All you need to defeat this unit is a good throwing arm and a rock, to hit the prominent emergency stop button fitted to the back of it. You wouldn’t want to miss, though.
How(e) a tank can be a super tank if it doesn't have any armor. Let's be honest here, if i so much as fart in its direction, that thing will come apart. Maybe a light assault vehicle..but even those can take more than this can. We should call this Super Light Attack Vehicle. Does it do squats?
Lord Jackie Fischer believed the same thing about ships. Speed can be armor. Or if its cheap enough, who cares if one dies if you have dozens attacking you.
Super tank? What's the main guns range and what rounds does it fire? How much armor and what is it able to defeat? How much range does it have? Is the gun truly stabilised or was the turret simply turning opposite to the way the hull was pivoting? The suspension was a curious design, like something from the 1930s. It may be a fine vehicle or whatever but super tank seems a stretch.
I am not sure how well that would do with a 105, but anything smaller than that seems pretty silly to me,. I am more interested in what they're trying to defeat with this. A t54/55 would be more than enough to turn this into junk and the peashooter that's on there wont do much to armored targets. I am curious what the thermal profile would look like though. I am guessing all that would show is tracks and road wheels.

guys I can honestly see alot of different applications for this. in farming and ranching to reduce scaring livestock and less ground disturbance. another is in the winter carrying hay bales to cattle. the commercial and farming application would be invaluable just keep cost down as cheap or cheaper than tractor and you have a winner! great video
Why is the bottom of the turret vented on both sides, is this 100% needed for mechanical processes, eg , cooling of batteries or other important process, it looks like a weak spot to target, ps , awesome bit of kit,
thank you for not making a click bait title like "tesla tank" or "ken block telsa tank" great work on this thing but the only issues i see if what is its range
If its like the 30mm on the striker its APDS. I saw a demo of the new 40mm German cannon and it penned 120mm of armor slanted at 60 degrees so I would say it should perform a little worse.
Amazing but how often does it need recharging or how long to change batteries and if it was as ww2 how would it do in a similar situation with I would assume a crew but if they could keep say ten going with a crew of five it would save thousands of soldiers but a base of operations would be required for maintaining battery power

Russians have superior jamming technology and tend to use it more, so that would certainly be a problem for this glorified IFV
This thing is meant for Urban and counterinsurgency operations where the enemy doesn't have access to electronic warfare. Otherwise it's a sitting duck
Wouldn’t work if it has its own internal AI guidance system similar to what a cruise missile uses.
It is NOT RC
@@fredrichblue6624 yeah, problem with that is that cruise missiles(and it isn;'t really AI) still have already pointed targets when they are sent...Tanks job is not to go at one target pre selected, but rather fallow situation at the moment and react ! Aside from that it relies on its own cameras and sensors, all which can be blinded, friend or jammed...And that is when human factor comes in.
Incredible. Definitely needs to be first tank on mars
Jason Creech mars. Yuh. Havent even been to the moon yet
Martin Komo maybe Elon will drive his truck on the moon soon. Maybe on a Sunday when he is bored.
How about we don't militarize mars?
@@TheJttv Yes we must for the glory of the UNSC. mwahahhahaha.

Happy to see u again guys ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥😈
This is the ultimate tank holy crap
the turret's ability to keep up with that insane, zero-radius turn rate is impressive.
Wow that thing spins in circles real nice.
The ultimate rc vehicle
Lethal. Quiet, lightweight, electric, robotic. That is a killer combo. I was an m1 abrams tank crewmember. i'm telling you, if that little tank had a little bit larger main gun, watch out. Good job on the m5.
What super tank even means, this looks more like a light scout
It's supah fast!
They probably mean its a new type of tank destroyer which make sense considering the acceleration on it and the fact its less noisey compared to most tanks seen today
@@tuckerodonnell9269 with that cannon? Tank destroyer? No it makes no sense
Its basiclly an unmanned technical same job honestly
@@tuckerodonnell9269 not really, its more like what i said a IFV light scout kind vehicle
The one thing i am wondering about is how thick and effective is the armor? And i wonder how much ammo it can hold with that large of a cannon on it
I loved your show on tv.
These guys are unreal. Maine home style engineering. Congrats Howe Bros.
Its also fast just like the little tank from tank brawls
Looks awesome but I don't understand why is there vertical volute spring suspension on a super advanced remote controlled electric military vehicle?
M1A2 Abrams: Hit me; I _dare_ you!
Ripsaw M5: *_YOU'RE TOO SLOW!!!_*
*M1A2 Abrams gives his butt*
*Also Abrams* "Pen me!"
@@annatascha3979 So fcking true
Finally they're back.
T2000 series Hunter/Killer?!
Man it's been awhile since I've seen them together wow they even have the same goatee the only way I can tell them apart is they sound different from each other.
This looks so cool
will it die with EMP ?
Impressive. I'm curious about the thickness of the armor to keep those electronic components safe, the ballistic capabilities of that gun, the overall weight for transportability.
A use case I see for this is with tactical insertion or stealth operations. Giving those skilled stealth operatives a literal tank that checks all their boxes; small, fast, lightweight, huge ground clearance and good suspension letting the thing go pretty much anywhere, and _whsiper silent._
As long as she can take a little more than a rifle bullet eithout risk, and she has the punch to deal with threats bigger than a pickup truck with a dude in the back holding an MG, this is a hell of a success.
All you need to defeat this unit is a good throwing arm and a rock, to hit the prominent emergency stop button fitted to the back of it. You wouldn’t want to miss, though.
What music is that
How(e) a tank can be a super tank if it doesn't have any armor.
Its literally just an electric powered amx from france
OK now try it with armor on instead of sheet metal and plastic. I don't think that can stop a 7.62 round let alone a 120mm HE-APFSDS HESH round
Stop the war as I need to recharge my tank!
So when do we get to see you blow one up for safety specs?
You guys have been reading too many Keith Laumer Bolo stories!
when are those books comming to the big screen
@@spacemonster505 Probably as soon as a _good_ adaptation of either Heinlein or Lovecraft does! Note, I do _NOT_ think "Starship Troopers" was a good adaptation of the book! Neither are any of the "Reanimator" movies for that matter!
I'd like to know specifics...armor, weapons, speed, distance it can travel on one charge, how does it charge? It's one thing to have a gun and be fast, another if it can be taken out by a large caliber pistol or rifle round.
1:23 "C*NT!"
guys I can honestly see alot of different applications for this. in farming and ranching to reduce scaring livestock and less ground disturbance. another is in the winter carrying hay bales to cattle. the commercial and farming application would be invaluable just keep cost down as cheap or cheaper than tractor and you have a winner! great video
But can you ride it into battle while waving a sword and yelling "Drive me closer! I want to stab them with me sword!"
Haha is it the 40k joke?
@@blackbriar5590 yep!
Wait it also has a megaphone inside of it or could that be how the tank talks
Probably very vulnerable to a cyber-attack.
Its over! This is the game changer! Full scale Telsa RC Tank!
If that cannon fires. It could probably shoot 1-3 rounds before the batteries are dead.
Thats....not how it works
How so? Educate me please
Why is the bottom of the turret vented on both sides, is this 100% needed for mechanical processes, eg , cooling of batteries or other important process, it looks like a weak spot to target, ps , awesome bit of kit,
Super Tank? With only a 30mm main gun? What a joke, this thing wouldn't hold up against a 50 Caliber MG, let alone a real tank.
real tanker question, I wonder how hard it is to put the track back on when you throw it??
That must be the shittiest armor displacement ive ever seen
Electric Motors make perfect sense for tanks.. Lots of torque! But how do u charge them in the middle of nowhere unless there's a built in generator??
#Trump #TrumpTrain #USMilitary
thank you for not making a click bait title like "tesla tank" or "ken block telsa tank" great work on this thing but the only issues i see if what is its range
I cant imagine what the military industry complex has built if these guys have their hands on this alone.
Hell yeah brother! I’ve been waiting to see an electric tank! That’s awesome!!!
What kind of penetration does that 30mm cannon have? Also does it use APDS or a conventional AP round?
If its like the 30mm on the striker its APDS. I saw a demo of the new 40mm German cannon and it penned 120mm of armor slanted at 60 degrees so I would say it should perform a little worse.
Oh no a puma
How big of a gun can it handle and what about armor?? looks like it moves really quick, like it doesn't weigh much.....
“so, you own a stealth tank?”
“yes.”
“…Where is it?”
*right behind you*
It also turns dude i am sooooooo amazed right now
This super cool, but this also super scary at the same time!
Amazing but how often does it need recharging or how long to change batteries and if it was as ww2 how would it do in a similar situation with I would assume a crew but if they could keep say ten going with a crew of five it would save thousands of soldiers but a base of operations would be required for maintaining battery power
Probably with foldable solar panels.
@@johntheux9238 the only on demand source of power is the internal combustion engine at this time but if they could develop more efficient electrolysis it could have hydrogen fuel cells but fossil fuels would still be needed to create a steady supply for power
@@jeradvogt You must be able to charge it once a week... It's not gonna rain every day...
@@johntheux9238 if they are in use the battery will not last a week it would not last a day and need hours to charge I have studied lithium ion batteries and they're capability
@@jeradvogt But do they use it several days a week? A silent tank will mostly be used for surprise attack
s, not for long duration battles.
Isn't it suppossed to be 30x173mm?
This tank use the same gun with Yamato battleship. Don't worry. It's worth it.
Looks like it would be a good airborne or heavy special ops tank, but be on that, it would not replace current MBT’s. Would be interesting to know how long the battery’s last and how long it takes to charge them
Or it can be a force multiplier for our current tank arsenal just imagine one main battle tank with at least 2 of these as back up
"Charger not included"
Anyway, was wondering.. since this doesn't have personel or a combustion engine, wouldn't this be super great for water to land deployment? Could ride on the river/sea floor right?
Has this thing got any active protection systems on it and also, can you jam it's signal and disable it?
Take the turret off and add more armor and space to be a troop carrier. Fast and quiet but not MBT material.
*We need more videos! Monthly videos would be awesome!*
cool but, how to recharging? How far can it run without being charged? Is it armored, if so how thick is it? and . . . . many questions need to be answered.
So it’s clear the movement system has great mobility, however, the weapons system has me slightly worried. The gun is not stabilized and has yet to be seen firing, all though I did really appreciate the ejection port in the back of turret. Can you please post a video demonstrating things like turret rotation, firing stationary, firing on the move, firing at night, and ejection system in action?
Does it have a self destruct? Because that can be a deal breaker.
Damn, that thing is sexy and quiet. Howe and Howe is back on track.
Despite the fact that this will probably be used against us in the future it's pretty badass.
Any updates?
Like this is very very interesting, but it still needs improvements
Just an idea. Why not make the fuel cells unchangeable like a drill. Switch out fuel cells on the go. Us a solar/generator changing station.
Can I have one of these as a bugout / self-protection rig?
Wow guys. Hope you keep doing videos while making your amazing stuff. That’s a game changer vehicle you have there
The m5 designation means its already in the us inventory correct?
