What are your Top 3 Predator movies? And what do you think of Predators Wrist Gauntlet?
Question do you think the shredders from the 2010 version of TMNT would be better or worse
Glad to see you guys cover the Predator. As for my top 3 Predator movies

Alright maxing out my strength stat. BRB
I am not sure how comfortable I would be using the thing. Since it also doubles as a portable nuke.
You trying blocking too hard a blow. And getting high is going to have a whole new meaning.
@@clothar23 luckily we know that has to actually be triggered, otherwise you're just stabbing a battery essentially lmao
The thing he talks about being an extremely important multitool like hacking device, cloacking device, your space keys and your meele weapon is true.
Is so dumb you could just use two gauntles
I was thinking the same thing. Those predators kill and toss bears around. I dont think theyll have a problem slashing anything or pulling it out of bones

@@Masenken in Alien Vs. Predator movie, flashback scene
Big thing about the Predator blades that I never noticed until recently. They're specifically used to finish off a wounded opponent in the most brutal way possible. In the original movie, we almost exclusively see the Predator use his blades to gore his prey like the tusks of a boar, after wounding them with his plasma cannon or after a successful ambush. The barbed design allows the Predator to do even more damage when pulling the blades out, causing immense bleeding and tearing of flesh. They're not for combat; they're for executions. It isn't until the sequels or spinoffs where we see Predators use their wrist blades for fighting.
They're designed to be brutal piercing weapons, so that even if the initial stab doesn't kill them they die of bloodloss quickly. It's why you mostly see predators using them to stab their prey
This makes much more sense. An idea I got for while watching this is "Maybe the Yautja used the barbs to grapple onto much larger Prey to deal much more damage at a shorter range"
Edit: The amount of typos here is insane...
@@mrchimpinski1411 you even see the Feral Predator do this. He only uses his claws to fight as a last resort.
The distance of the blades allowes the removal of the spine more easily too?
We are also talking about predators... those bastards are insanely strong, and the claws catching on bone are likely very intentional as that is far more brutal for killing or disabling an enemy.
You forgot the pro: "It's scary as fuck"
You know you f-cked up when the trees start clicking.

For a human, it would be harder, but for a Predator to slice through bone is easier
It’s made out of a special metal alloy so it’s be easy to cut though anything, even for humans
One wrist blade was designed to launch the blades as a range weapon i could also see it as a way to get unstuck or to discard old worn/damaged blades
One of the wrist blades was just one long blade -- can't remember which Predator used that one though. it basically looked like a long puncture blade.

@@Billy-bc8pk there's a few. The Super Predators, Berserker, Falconer, and Tracker, and the Fugitive Predator (although his gauntlet had 2) and the Upgrade Predator from The Predator.
If it gets hooked on a bone you could probably retract it and pull to cause some major damage, also because its predators who are using the gauntlets they’re not gonna have that much of a challenge yanking the blades out
predator have the strength of silver back gorilla in a lean body. He is talking in a sense of a human using it. They are retractable and i remember a scene from either the avp games or predator movies where it gets stuck and they retract it.
True
This series is under the context of a normal person so to use squishy humans its highly impractical because we lack the strength to properly wield it

The one with the wrist blades are a separate gauntlet from the wrist computer which contains the cloaking device and the self destruction detonator
Thank fuck someone else mentioned it. I saw someone else say that the blades were also a nuke. Kinda upsetting.
Yeah, it just ticks me off when I see people know so much about Predator, and then they fuck up which gauntlet is which.
The removal problem doesn’t really apply to yautja because ya know they’re yautja
2012 TMNT Shredder: “I don’t have such weaknesses!”
Well tbf he had a much more streamlined claw that allowed for easier puncture and slashing
Was genuinely thinking the same thing, also started thinking about that Batman battle when he broke those wrist claws and the face of “Wait… he broke my claws??”
Funny that Shredder TMNT 2012 is the one that came to mind when it comes to wrist Blade

@@ScenicFightscould you possibly check out Steve Harrington’s nailed bat from stranger things and see how legit is it against hordes or something like that?
"Con: It could get stuck on bone"
I feel like most Predators would consider that a pro
One extra important thing to note is often predators I tend to go for a acid-proof metal for their blades which could really make it more dangerous depending on how powerful it is of a metal
Blades coming from a gauntlet will never NOT be cool
You didn't list where to buy that wrist gauntlet 🤯 I've been wanting one of those!
This is cool to see a martial artist's view on Predator weaponry. Some of the cons though might not apply due to how crazy strong they are compared to a human. In the movies Preds are able to cleave through opponents like butter with those wristblades. Also the gauntlet that controls cloaking is usually on the other arm.
Thanks for the interesting videos & have a good day. 👍
Yall should do wolverine's claws
We already did! Check out our TH-cam #shorts playlist.
@@ScenicFights thanks. I really appreciate y'alls content
That blades not for fighting it’s for leaving scars and deep wound on thyre prey like if they stab someone and pull the blade out there is no patching it up cause the way you’ve been cut wouldn’t be able to seal up and you’d just keep bleeding 😅
MORE PREDATORSSSSS
They do have thermal vision so they would know where to stab some one
That's why they are so strong, nothing will ever get stuck
The predator saga has a lot of great weapons to analyze, thia short is great.
Wrist gauntlets remind me of the mall ninja weapons, overly flashy lol. Also could you guys breakdown the Arkham Origins cinematic of Batman vs Deathstroke? Please, and thank you.
Predator's Wrist Blade is for ambush and making the enemy bleeding out
WTF I'm watching predators and this is the first thing that pops up after clicking on TH-cam
And let’s not forget the possibility of activating the Nuke in it when it gets damaged
Sorry, but the nerd side of me just wants to explain. The gauntlet will only activate its self destruction when the predator enters a code, not when it’s damaged.
That's the other arm gauntlet. That one lacks Wristblades typically, except for in the AvP games.
The nerd side of me needs to tell you both that the nuke control is on the other arm
I fucking love this comment thread😂
Can you please break down some fight scenes from the Insidious movies please? Thanks.
There's also the common con of retractable weapons that they always get blood in the mechanism. Making it either sticky and or rusty
Also if you have your wrist at a bad angle when those blades pop out, say goodbye to your hand
I think that is a pro and con for the predator weapon mostly as humans would have cons but for the predator it's all positive say like their slashing somebody and the bone if a human uses the blade got light and only gets stuck but for a predator they're made and trained to be incredibly strong they're known to rip apart in xenomorphs which are cockroaches on steroids so basically the predator won't have trouble ripping out your bone with the wrist gauntlet blade things.... That's why the predators the most terrifying alien ever.
Surprised you didn’t say that blood getting stuck on it might mess it up when it retracts.
We mentioned that in our Assassins Creed Hidden Blade breakdown, but good point. It also applies to Predators Wrist Blade
@@ScenicFightsOh yeah that’s where I got this knowledge from😮
They probably have some feature that prevents this from happening. In the films, it was used all the time with xenomorphs, other predators and humans, but they don't suffer from such flaws.
I need to see a live action rated r wolverine vs predator
Dawg got that Assasins Creed double hidden blade 💀
I don't think it would get stuck on bones. The Predators are quite strong so they most likely would just break the bones while pulling it out
My favorite predator weapon alongside combistick and plasma caster
Con number 4: sheathing it without cleaning will get blood inside the mechanism and rust it
The one about getting stuck on bone is an issue for us but not for the predator because of the strength he has. He would just rip the bone out lol
The cloak is on the other wrist. and its activated via the mask. The weapons platform is jsut that, weapons. Blade gauntlet, shurikin launcher, knife holder and storage for other small blades. the other wrist, the left one is the computer. provides power and control for the mask, the plasma cannon, the thermoptic camo, and the various other things such as comms, hacking, tracking data, codex, and remote control of the ship.
“I feel this will get stuck on the bone”
Almost like it was made that way for trophy collecting 🤯🤯
I think the bone con isn't a problem for a predator though. Their physical strength should be enough to broot force through human bone.
AWESOME reference to Vega/Balrog with this Street Fughter t-shirt 👏 👌 😀 👍
you guys know your stuff !
Woah never been so early. Love this channel, I’ve been rewatching some older breakdowns
Happy to have you here early! If we’re missing a fight scene or weapon that you want us to breakdown, let us know!
Claws getting caught on bone was a thought I didn’t want lol
Ive also read that retractable blades can break down quickly if not taken care of, or if the mechanism gets damaged during a fifht.
Those cons wouldn't be too much of a problem for the actual Yautja themselves because the material the blades are crafted out of is a lot stronger than anything we have on earth, and is also very lightweight. But also, the Predators are much, much stronger than humans so the blades likely wouldn't get stuck on bone, they would almost certainly just cut straight through the bone. The cons you described definitely make a lot of logical sense though.
I'd be interested in what your opinion is on the Super Predators' wristblade from the Predators 2010 movie though, as it is a single, slightly longer blade that is also less jagged.
Also good scare tactic. If you're going against someone and a set of wolverine claws come out of no where, you'd be terrified.
Getting stuck in bone is the reason why The Predator usually stabs in vital, squishy areas
Important detail about the Gauntlets/Bracers, the side that has the wristblades usually has no other function. As well as it being insulated or completely analog, meaning no matter what the Yautja can’t lose its blades other than acid. Furthermore they have tools to sharpen/repair the blades. The Wrist computer is usually located on the opposite arm so in the heat of battle it’s less likely to be damaged. There are exceptions like when both arms have blades but that’s extremely uncommon as having a free hand is incredibly invaluable. As well as having the con stated in the video, you essentially make your computer a target.
"We're only going to be focused on the wrist blade"
Cons it for being a multipurpose tool.
Bro have every weapon☠️
Dude that gauntlet is so cool
With these explanations you would probably think the Wrist blades are actually High frequency blades since they have to cut the tough exoskeleton of the Xenomorphs in one swift motion
As a hardcore fan, the predator wrist blades are in fact made of a razor sharp material that allows them to cut through basically anything, in the original predator movie it even morphed around Arnold’s head like it was made of clay to pin him down to a tree where he effortlessly pulled the bent blades out and retracted them to the original shape. Also the predators do not lose their cloaking device as the purpose of the blade gauntlet is simply to be a melee weapon without any other attachments (unless you’re Dark from the AvP video game )
I think you might own every weapon I existence
Stuck on bone.
Predator: I always cleave right through the bone going in or coming out.
Thank you for being honest and not just explaining why all fantasy weapons wouldnt work. You also do a great job of seeing how they could be used well and do a good job of comparing it fairly to realistic styles. I enjoy it much more than the generic "any fantasy weapon is bad cuz its not hema, kendo, etc." Thank you again!
Now I want to see an analysis of Shredder’s Steel Claws.
It's established in the second predator movie that the predators weapons are made from a metal that isn't on our periodic table and can carve through steel and bone like they're made of warm butter . Combine that with the predators superior strength and you have a weapon that can stab , slash and hack through nearly anything with ease .
Also the blades are usually on the right gauntlet while the computer , cloak and self destruct are on the left .
He’s wearing the blades on his right arm in the video.🤔
@@hymiecamp But in the video, one con mentioned was, that important tech might be damaged during fighting with the blades. Which wouldn´t happen, since the blades and the comp/nuke/cloaking are two different devices, worn on different arms.
@@Suthriel aww ok I see.
I will always think Shredders claws when I see predator wrist gauntlet!
I saw the SF shirt, I saw gauntlet with claws thinking it was Vega. Predator is still good tho.
Let’s not forget that damn arm nuke,😂shit was to much even in the damn comic book.
I love the Predator Wrist Gauntlet it's one of my favorite weapons especially the wristblades I grew up with Alien versus Predator so seeing this is amazing and that's the kind of WristGauntlet I really want
Can you talk about the Dragon Slayer from Berserk? It’s such a cool weapon to wield
The predators are skilled and strong enough to work around these issues
Also forgot, if enough force is applied when stabbing, the latches that keep the blades out could fail, allowing the blades to go back in the device, if not just outright destroying the blades too.
In one of the video games it’s revealed that, at least the arm blades, are surgically attached to the arm, and attempting to remove them will cause the Hunter to go into cardiac arrest.
The Strength Factor of The Predator dispels all your Doubts
I remember it cutting pretty well dispite the design, so in universe i could see those flaws being overcome by technology.
Imma give you some lore rq: the wrist gauntlet isn’t a multipurpose tool, each gauntlet has their own specific design like the one you have is from hunting and defense while the shield is for general battle and is usually combined with a combi stick or a maul
Talks about cons.
Predators: “sounds to me like SKILL ISSUE”
I imagine since it's retractable their is probably a mechanism for release of blades of they lose efficiency
I would suggest checking out Adam vs Zeus from Record of Ragnarok
There’s a bit more with the blades than noted in just the movies:
1-The blades have been noted to break through bone with little to no effort due to the mechanism, due to the sheer force, compared to gun fire on some occasions, breaking through bone and body armor just from retracting
2-If you follow each Predator shown, each has a unique blade design, there are several with more practical blades with little to no serration, and even a single blade, some even being removable and used as actual hand weapons
3-Being made from near perfect alloy that is resilient to dulling, bending, and shattering
4-When used correctly it is capable of cutting practical metals with mere human strength by how sharp each serration is on its own, so even while one part may break off, though not pointed it can still cut nearly the exact same
The mesh the predator wears is actually the cloaking device
Predator is so strong that it doesn't need to worry about getting stuck on bones, plus the sharpness is great than human blades
You should talk about the pros and cons of Ben 10's Omnitrix and Sora's Keyblade.
Therapist: Assassin's Creed aliens aren't real they won't hurt you
Predator:
Shang tsung has a similar gauntlet in mk1 also has the 3 claw version like wolverine
I believe the Predator's wrist computer and cloaking control is on his left arm while the wrist blades are on the right. So loosing the blades doesn't loose the cloaking capability.
It is good for slashing😐 that’s one of its main functions it’s sharper than any blade on earth
Tysm :)))) this is so cool :)))
It's all fun and wrist blades until you need to scratch your undercarriage in the jungle.
The blades retract pretty far back into the gauntlet, so that's not a problem.
Something cool to see would be a breakdown of the fight in fallout where Maximus is protecting his armor.
I know in at least one movie they are laser sharpened. So basically sharper than we could possibly imagine.
Jagged cuts and tears are harder to sew, thus turning a con into a pro
Just to clarify the wrist blades are on the right hand and the computer/cloaking system is on the left hand
Forgot about the built in rage quit option that takes you and everyone in 20 km out.
one thing about them that is very interesting is that most predators of custom or unique varients with differant features which are likely designed based on the users fighting preferance. so every version is made to complement it wielder and suit their hunting/fighting style.
Weapons like this or the Guyver's sonic swords often seem to work best with superhuman characteristics like enhanced reflexes and strength.
The cloaking controls are on the sat com on the opposite arm's gauntlet. Depending on the blooded status, you'll also have the ceremonial dagger, made of xenomorph bone.
I understand the getting stuck on bone thing but seeing as the predator is a trophy hunter that was probably a international feature
Also, the fact that it enables a bladed attack while still having both hands open
The blades are quick detach so they don't have to lose the gauntlets, idk what movie it's in but I remember that happening, they can also shoot the blades out like harpoons.
Another pro: it is intimidating as f*ck. Somebody roll up to a fight with that, fight aint happening because the other dude is running.
In lore, the cutting edge of all Predator blades consist of molecular monofilaments. There is essentially nothing they can't cut through with minimal (for a predator) effort in any direction.
Another character that also using a bladed wristband gauntlet, the shredder of TMNT.
Honestly if they were just straight blades it would take out more than half the cons
