Glad to see y'all were in Greensboro. I actually went to the ACC Basketball Tournament in the Greensboro Coliseum several years ago, and I was going to go there for lunch, but the line was out the door and into the street. We'll have to make it a point to go there next time I'm in Greensboro. I'm very surprised that Cheerwine isn't found in Virginia yet. Shawnasi's cousin was down here from Minnesota a few years ago, and fell in love with it. She actually managed to find it in a store up there. It's not prevalent up there or anything, but she did find it somewhere. I actually consider it the best soda ever made. That peach cobbler looked amazing!
I'm sure with a tournament in town or an event that Stamey's would be busy. There was actually a line waiting for Stamey's to open. Definitely try it out when in the area. Or be like us and do a road trip just to try it out. I do see the bottled Cheerwine in Kroger stores in Virginia. Also it was in one of the Amish stores we visited. But we have not found it in restaurants in Virginia. David prefers the fountain Cheerwine over bottles, cans, or 2 liters. All the food we had at Stamey's was delicious. We decided to get dessert after Chaz recommended it. He nailed it with that recommendation. It was a great visit here. Hope y'all are having a fantastic week.
Yes it was cool to go into where the meat is smoked. Chaz was so kind to show us everything. Such a nice young man who takes pride in the family business. 😀
Thanks for showing us Stamey's. All your food looked good, and the prices were very reasonable. We have never tried Stamey's, but we will try it next time we are in Greensboro.
Amy, I know you will love Stameys. The smokehouse reminds us of the one at Wilbur’s BBQ. The sides were good here too. Great value for some really good food. Hope your weekend has been good. Thanks so much for your continued support.
My wife and I watched your video again tonight so we now have a hankering for some Stamey's BBQ. We have been going there for many years and it has always been really good. The BBQ chicken is really good but a bit messy and the chopped BBQ is really good too. I haven't had the collard greens but I will definitely get them next time. We appreciate how honest your reviews are and also how gracious you are and how willing to try the different styles we have in NC with open minds. BBQ is love on a plate and there are so many kinds to try all over the USA. We watched your video of you cooking Brunswick stew a while back and weren't surprised when Carly said Stamey's was good but yours was better. If you were closer, we would definitely stop by and buy some Brunswick stew you cook. It looked so good. BTW, my brother lives in Arlington, VA and always picks up some Cheerwine when he visits NC.
Thank you for such a lovely comment. When we watch our videos it also gets us wanting some of the foods that we have tried. We enjoy BBQ and try to get it when we travel to see how different areas fix it. I will have to say that NC BBQ is our favorite. We enjoy both the Eastern and Lexington styles. It’s fun to make a trip to NC for BBQ. We have made a trip to North Carolina just to try a different restaurants bbq. We tend to like the old school bbq joints the best. We agree that BBQ is love on your plate. We have found that the bbq restaurants tend to be very welcoming. Cheerwine always goes great with BBQ. David also enjoys Sundrop too. Sundrop used to be a sponsor of Dale Earnhardt Sr. So he still supports them plus he loves the taste. ♥️ Carly definitely loves the Brunswick stew that her Dad and Pop make. Appreciate you watching. God Bless.
I thought the portion sizes at Stamey’s were very generous. The value for the quality and amount of food was outstanding. Enjoyed this Lexington style BBQ. Appreciate your continued support. God Bless!
Another great video. That food looked scrumptious! And the prices of the meals - can’t beat that with a stick! Looking at those plates made my mouth water and my tummy growl. Would love to have some right now. If y’all return any time soon, will have to get you bring me some. Good job!!!
The value was exceptional! Everything was delicious. It was also so interesting going into the smoke house to see how they smoke the meat. Thanks for watching.
That food looked amazing and a great value too. I liked Carly's glasses. I have worn aviator sun glasses longer than she has been alive😎. This was a great review! Thank you for taking us along. God bless and safe travels.
The food was great. We really enjoy going to the old school bbq places. The food and value typically is exceptional at these types of restaurants. Carly has several pairs of sunglasses. You never know what she will have on. 🕶️
Glad you enjoyed the video. We were so impressed with this restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonable. Love that they are continuing a tradition too. Thanks for watching.
This review inspired me to look for chopped pork barbecue near me. Only one place nearby offers it. I hope to give them a try on Thursday. (Only open Thurs-Sunday...) If I'm in the Greensboro area again, Stamey's might be a stop if I'm not meeting friends further north! Great review. I liked the "behind the scenes". God Bless!
Glad you enjoyed the review. Hopefully your chopped bbq experience will be as good as ours at Stamey’s. We really enjoyed seeing the smoke house and seeing them actually smoke the meat. They also had excellent sides. We have reviewed other nc bbq joints and look forward to reviewing more. Enjoy your bbq!
Great job 👏 😃 they great prices! And I learned things about barbecue I didn’t know 😊. And I loved going back to the coal ovens and learning about how the cook their meats 👍😃. So cool! Can’t wait to have barbecue with you all soon especially since u r experts in BBQ!! 🍗❤
We really enjoyed Stamey’s. We were excited to be able to show everyone the smoke pits. I find stuff like that fascinating. Looking forward to our bbq adventure in Lancaster! ❤️
Thank you for taking the time to video the smoke pits. That kind of stuff adds so much to the great food reviews you always do. We appreciate you taking us along. Be safe as you travel! 💕🛣️

Stamey’s knocked it out of the park. We loved being able to see the pits and share that with our viewers. We have been on vacation and on our way home tonight. It always go by so fast. Have an awesome week!
Wow, now we see what we missed! I remember going there as a child, possibly younger than Carly? The food looked great and the pit tour was neat to see. My brother's bbq place had about 4 pits. Nothing like opening the pit door and pulling some meat off the pork shoulder before its taken out . Ginger and I will definitely have to go and try Stamey's out now. Great video!
We thought all the food was delicious and the portion sizes are huge. We really enjoyed seeing the pits. Did you help out at your brother’s restaurant? Appreciate your continued support. Hope y’all are good.

Amazing video! I would love that bbq chicken with the red sauce -- looked so good. The peach cobbler with ice cream was the best part for me (probably one of my favorite desserts). I am going to watch your Brunswick Stew video again as I loved it when I first saw it. 🍑

Yes! We have been to bbq places with big $ and small portions. The food is delicious and it is definitely a good value. Plus as you saw in the video they actually smoke the meat for hours. Thanks for watching! ♥
Good BBQ for sure. Their buns, which they get from Carter's Bakery just outside of Charlottesville VA, are over the top. I hope you come down east some time and try out Starlight Inn, B's, Parker's and/or Wilber's. Whole hog BBQ is the best! Great video guys.

I have to tell you, I ordered some Cheerwine from Amazon because I had never heard of it nor tasted it. It’s cherry pop, but tastes more like it’s flavored with grenadine than cherry. It did cost a fortune and I won’t buy it again because it’s cost prohibitive. I also like Red Pop, but they don’t sell that up here either. I know you paid big from Amazon to try Cheerwine! I’m glad you got your try it, so you know what it is now. David likes to get Cheerwine or Sundrop when we visit places in NC that have them. I try to drink water mainly. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Ain't gonna lie the Brunswick Stew did look good however I agree with Carly 100% no stew can touch David and Kelly's which is 1st place for life as far as I'm concerned! One other thing is that lil bowl of stew wouldn't fill me up either as the wife and I usually make a meal out of a quart for each of us! And I also could've bet money that David was gonna get some Cheerwine as that, Onion Rings and Hamburger Steak I know are his main things! Thanks again funseekers, God bless!
Glad you enjoy the Stew Crews Brunswick stew. It is World Famous. Lol David likes Cheerwine and Sun Drop. You do know David’s favorites. We really enjoyed Stamey’s. It was a great day trip. Thanks for your continued support. We appreciate you.
They definitely know how to fill up a plate. Huge portions and the food was delicious. They don’t have ribs on the menu as you noticed. Great place! Thanks for watching and commenting.
It was my understanding that the current restaurant at this location was built in 1979. I know the smokehouse was built earlier. Stameys is such an impressive bbq restaurant preserving the bbq traditions in NC. We loved our visit here and look forward to going back.

I don’t drink sugar pop or beverages so for a long time, I didn’t drink Red Pop. Now they have a sugar free option.
I know you paid big from Amazon to try Cheerwine! I’m glad you got your try it, so you know what it is now.
David likes to get Cheerwine or Sundrop when we visit places in NC that have them. I try to drink water mainly. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Enjoyed the video. Like #264.
Thanks so much! Stamey's has some old fashioned bbq at really good prices. The service was wonderful too. Thanks for watching!

The buildings was not built in the 1970s.
It was my understanding that the current restaurant at this location was built in 1979. I know the smokehouse was built earlier. Stameys is such an impressive bbq restaurant preserving the bbq traditions in NC. We loved our visit here and look forward to going back.
That food looked Nasty !!!!
We thought it was great!
They are not all that good.
Like many dmall businesses closing during the pandemic, Carters Brothers BBQ was great. They were in High Point
We really enjoyed Stamey's. Lots of small businesses were impacted by the pandemic. Thanks for watching. We hope to get back to NC and do some more bbq reviews.
Stamey's is my least favorite in NC. Tons of competition in that area. Ralph's is very good. 🩷 Thanks for sharing.
We will definitely have to add Ralph’s to our places to review. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😀
