Lex, it would have been great if you included the untranslated audio for both you and Milei, for those of us who prefer to experience the original conversation.
Lex! great initiative! but personally, as a bilingual navtive spanish speaker, it's really weird to hear you speaking in robotic spanish or hearing Milei speaking in robotic English, is it possible to have a track in which both of you speak in your native languages? Thanks!
Lex, consider adding a third audio track for the original language, where you are heard in English and Milei is heard in Spanish, for people who speak both languages. Otherwise, people who know both languages have to listen to a dubbed version of you, or keep flipping the switch.

I dont know if you know this Lex, but Milei was always speaking to you using “Usted” the formal “You” instead of the very informal “vos” or midway formal “tu”. Which is rare to hear from Argentinians. He was showing you a lot of respect.

@RetroLuv_ if it's no big deal, then why don't you go do it? We don't care that it's milei, we're pointing out the same fact as we do with rogan. Its EVERYONE of different philosophical backgrounds, religions, ethnic groups, countries, genders, etc.
@@RetroLuv_ "It's just the president of Argentina" lmao what. Argentina is the 2nd largest country in south america, you are saying it as if it was haiti or something. And Milei is one of the most important economist/politician right now. It's not Lex the one doing the favor in this case.
I loved Milei’s interview, i havent seen an interview of this president, i wish my country some day will choose a man with that integrity and honesty, its shown innevery word he says, like how he thinks, un autentico loco! Horseshit. Lexs softball interview with Trump was full of lies. Just because Trump was calm and seemed human doesn’t mean he wasn’t lying through his teeth .
it's not JUST for us... if this case goes right, Milei its gonna set model to other countries and also it's important for west civilization agaisnt Socialism and the left agenda
One of the best interviews I've seen. I wish more people had the attention span to watch and to understand what he's saying. Freedom for all and fight the culture. We got this.
From a perspective of a Iranian I just love the fact that a person like Milei rise from ashes and tries to save economy and freedom, gives me hope that some day something similar happens to my country.
from a perspective of an argentinian milei is destroying our country, he might put the worse presidents in the history of this country as simple politicians, he is the absolute worst by a thousand miles
It might seem that way, but who you're friends with is far more important than where you come from. He always had a lot of them in high places backing him up.
Interviews like this should be the only campaigning politicians do. With interviewers of different backgrounds and perspectives ofc. But long-form where we can get to know them, their motiivations and how well-founded their ideas are.

@@Richard-rj9hd haha Lavalle Pou is a good man but he isn't half as courageous as Milei in terms of policy and reform. He's convinces that social democracy is the way, a "centrist" which basically means "a little of socialism here and there is actually good for society", so unfortunately, he didn't have what it takes to make real change here... But at least he didn't shame us further
Javier is much more educated and well-read than I had expected.. I thought he was a populist with radical economic ideas, but this guy is intently convinced he knows exactly what he's doing and he's able to explain his reasoning logically. Good on him.
For years before his presidential run, he was already extremely popular for preaching these ideas and debating other economists in the argentinian media. He is not just some guy who came to repeat what the uninformed public thinks for votes, so at least for me, it was a real surprise seeing him win the election.
Hi, I'm from Argentina. This dude explained in 2018 what was going to happen with the political Sprectrum in Argentina in an interview. He specifically explained how the parties would partition and named people which were going to go left or right. In 2023 exactly what he said happened, that year I realized that Milei saw things in a way I could not understand but was so fucking right and precise about so many things it made me vote for him with my eyes closed.
He taught Economics at a university in Argentina and holds a Master's degree, along with several publications and books. He also used to have a rock band.
It would be even better if Lex asked a few more questions, such as his views on challenging topics. Now it's not much of a discussion, more a monologue where the guest rambles on about his/her favorite topics. So many nuances get lost when there is just one side of the argument...
Lex I love your program and always talk about it with my Dad who doesn’t speak English-I really appreciate you going the extra mile for this one. Best regards from Mexico. You’re the best.
Javier's answer about does he fear of assassination gave me chills. When he made it very clear that freedom is worth dying for I am very convinced he would move forward until he achieved whatever abstraction of freedom is or perish in the way. Viva la libertad carajo embodies the indomitable human will
a few years back he said he got into politics because the violent route was ineffective at making changes. If it wasn't because of that, I could totally imagine him leading a libertarian guerrilla movement.
@@FC01 He believes in the non-aggression principle, you shouldn't try to force people to change, but rather explain to them your worldview and inspire them to achieve the goals you're proposing.
Have you ever read the Argentine National Anthem? It Literally says: Let us live crowned with glory... or swear with glory to die! He is just a really good representation of the original Argentinan Spirit :P
Years ago, before Javier Milei even became a candidate for congress, I used to imagine him being invited to shows like Lex Fridman's podcast. Today, that dream has come true! What an incredible interview, and what a source of pride to be Argentinian. Long live freedom!🐆
I love this new President! God bless you President Melei, take back your country, fight for freedom and ending corruption! You are a brave righteous man and will be successful. Love from America🇺🇲❤
I am from Argentina and it is being achieved in record time. It is incredible the change that has taken place in such a short time (although there is still much to improve due to everything that years of leftist governments have left behind).
Argentina is a beautiful country, and their citizens are resilient, I wish all the best for President Milie, and congratulations on your achievement at this point. Viva la Libertad Carajo 🇦🇷
As an Argentinian, I never saw a president who did what he said he was going to do. At first, I wasn't sure about voting for him, but now I'm proud. We are beginning to see the light. Congrats Lex!
I’m Brazilian and I was rooting for him before he was even a candidate. Hope he manages to make Argentina better so it sets an example for LATAM. Nice to know doubters are liking him, because I’m very biased towards liking him. It’s a shame our media will never ever give an unbiased report of what is going on with our neighbors.

This man came along to change the world, I don't know where he came from or who sent him but wow, just amazing. Share and comment on the video, this interview has to be shown all over the world.
The right man in the right place at the right time. After 60+ years of suffering under socialism … the ppl were finally willing to take a chance and vote en masse for something completely different. They had nothing left to lose. In parallel, the government was so corrupt and inept that it couldn’t organize and react to his instant popularity quickly enough to cut off the threat. They were caught off guard. This is what always happens when communism / socialism collapses into disarray. Sudden, jarring change. The difference here vs, say 1991 Russia, is that the figure who come forward to step into the gap was a positive and intelligent one. The ppl of Argentina deserve credit for recognizing that.
Great interview!! Being born in Argentina and emigrating to the USA at 11 years old and now 69 I always hope that Argentina gets its act together. Looks like President Milei will accomplish it. Looking forward to a great Argentina future Carajo!
Listening in from Norway, what a man! Get a bit lost in the economic lingo, but heard him busting the balls of the elites at UN and WEP. The world needs more leaders like Javier, I hope he will be able to continue his mission to restore Argentina and inspire the rest of us. But please look after him, challenging the establishment comes with risks. Maradona, Messi and now Javier, that's an Argentinian dream team.
I'd really recommend putting some effort into the economic lingo. Mises Institute and FEE amongst others are great places for that Austrian Style. Milton Friedmans Chicago school is always great. Maybe combine it with a more 'conventional' economic education but if you learn it alongside the others you'll pick up when they leap off track a bit. I've found the 'conventional' stuff to be pretty good until they take a wild leap into massive contradiction. (Also a bit suspicious my Lecturer who also wrote the text was a closet Austrian that was toeing the line with what she 'had' to teach along with what she really believed)
Lex, I’m an Argentine born woman who has lived in the US almost all my life. Until this man, Javier Milei has ascended to the presidency, my country was a total mess. This was a fantastic interview. Javier Milei is such an interesting and well educated man. Listening to him speak is an absolute pleasure. Those 2 hours just blew by!

Lex thank you so much for having Millei first hand. Millei's knowledge, authentic bravery and honesty are breathtaking. I wish the world had more men like Millei. Bravo Argentina!!!
It is remarkable that such a smart man is portrayed and demonized in our media as a lunatic. This says everything about our mainstream media. My 2 cents from Flanders (Belgium).
Is he portrayed that way in Europe? In the US, Milei is broadly admired as an economist, even in academic circles. I suppose leftist media might not favor him, but generally even our center-left media appreciates attempts to oppose further leftist decay in LatAm
I am from Argentina and Milei encouraged me to vote for the first time in ages, god bless him! I hope he continues encouraging other countries as well. At the end of his term, when everyone sees how he succeeded , it will encourage the world to end socialism, which is what took Argentina from being a prosperous country to poverty. The reason many Europeans immigrated to Argentina in the past is because it used to be a rich country, we do have everything to be a rich country, but it became a ruined disaster by many thieves, too much corruption and he is ending it, we are on the right track. I will contribute for his reelection in the future.

@m00rons poverty rates were measured wrong under past governments. Look into the statistics in depth and listen to experts and you'll find the answers if you really want to know 🙏
@@m00rons Basically, it was all thanks to the economy minister of the previous government, together with the worst president in Argentina's history. We had a currency gap of 119% and fixed prices, which means the previous government had an impressive level of repressed inflation that Milei had to address upon taking office. So, if you think about it, the 53% poverty rate was left by the previous government, and what Milei is achieving now is reducing poverty sustainably, with a clear downward trend.

The phenomenon Milei describes with price controls is textbook. That's how it happened in the Soviet Union. And Kamala wanted to have price controls here in the US. If a politician tells you that price controls are the answer, they are either lying or they are stupid.
Yeah sure thing hombre... but for example, the lack of zero price control within land and property, is the principle reason why young people cannot afford to rent or buy a home in most parts of the world. The problem with radical capitalism and laissez-faire economics is that it cannot survive without the existence of extreme poverty. Hyper-capitalism and deregulation is essentially socialism for the rich, disguised as 'freedom'.
well not really, it can depend on the good. for example: heating oil. if you do price controls on heating oil, there is very little danger of people stockpiling it. After your home reaches the optimal temperature, you can't really use more oil and get a benefit out of it.
@@paperstars9078 instead, people depend on cheap heating oil, and too many heating systems are installed that use it, and then you have supply shocks. Price controls are NEVER the answer. Prices signal supply and demand in an economy.

But at least he didn't shame us further
Javier is much more educated and well-read than I had expected.. I thought he was a populist with radical economic ideas, but this guy is intently convinced he knows exactly what he's doing and he's able to explain his reasoning logically. Good on him.
You spent too much time reading The Washington Post and woke giornalists. Milei is a libertarian and a very wise man.

Propaganda. Goebels...
It's not an interview. It's a monologue. Not saying it isn't valuable but there is a MASSIVE difference. You're watching a campaign advert.
Lex has talked about doing these kinds of interviews with world leaders for a long time, and now it's finally happening.
It would be even better if Lex asked a few more questions, such as his views on challenging topics. Now it's not much of a discussion, more a monologue where the guest rambles on about his/her favorite topics. So many nuances get lost when there is just one side of the argument...
It’s amazing what he achieved with his podcast. That’s a service for the whole of humanity.

@@m00rons watch the interview. The poverty has been declining and didnt really go up. Price controls hide the real poverty rate
Price controls are indeed never a valid solution.
Yeah sure thing hombre... but for example, the lack of zero price control within land and property, is the principle reason why young people cannot afford to rent or buy a home in most parts of the world. The problem with radical capitalism and laissez-faire economics is that it cannot survive without the existence of extreme poverty. Hyper-capitalism and deregulation is essentially socialism for the rich, disguised as 'freedom'.
well not really, it can depend on the good.

if you do price controls on heating oil, there is very little danger of people stockpiling it. After your home reaches the optimal temperature, you can't really use more oil and get a benefit out of it.

This is incredibly informative. Another high level conversation. Thank you!
From Argentina I can tell you Milei has done more than any politician .. inflation going down, rent prices down, food is more affordable, mortages loans are back.. our currency is getting stronger every day. Thank you Javier for bringing back hope!
That's not what people who are there see.
If you simply Google metrics from Argentina you will know inflation is at a record high this year. So is poverty. There's some economists who predict it will change. But the reality right now is worse than it was before.
Are these comments just bots? Inflation skyrocketed under Milei. Please, if you're reading this, look it up.
@@lidolivedBrazil country very poor millón brazilians move to argentina
@@lidolivedGoogle the metrics After Milei came into Power. Yes, If you take inflation from the last 12 months, It still pretty high, but you have to compare It with what He got from his predecessor, not with a First World country. It is going down month After month.
I'm argentinian, and I think this is the BEST interview I've ever seen of our president. So proud of him, he gave back hope to us. Long live Milei! VIVA LA LIBERTAD CARAJO!
The guy went from I hate Chinese communism and would never trade morals for money to begging the Chinese for trade. You like this kind of president?
El doblaje de la voz al ingles suena a Mileil?
i truly hope you will be a top 10 country again! may god be with you and every hater..AFUERA!
if CNN slanders about him then we know he is a good president.
Argentinians, please take care of this Man! Don’t miss such a rare opportunity to prosper and become a Free country.
Milei is a fascinating leader. If he can't turn Argentina around then probably no one can do it.
Why?
I am praying fervently that God help this man to stay the course and succeed for all humanity to draw genuine inspiration for progress and sustainable prosperity. God Bless Argentina
