@@gravelrun4028 I get very skeptical about their motivation for sharing it, specifically when people start competing with the music itself for beauty, either by claiming relevance through a passed loved one, or talking about how they cried their eyes out in front of their wife to a cello cover of a tool song, or trying to be a literal poet in their description of how much they love it. I know it's a character flaw, and I really try not to be so judgmental, but by default I see attention seeking.

This was my first Tool song. My friend worked at Record Bar, and Tool was going around and promoting Undertow and he got a copy of this "cassette" from Maynard himself. The second I heard this I fell in love. That was in January of 93 and I've been a die hard Tool fan since and this is STILL my favorite song...

My husband introduced me to TOOL 23 yrs ago and i have loved their music ever since. They are beyond AMAZING.💯
My dad has always listened to tool ever since I was a little baby I have been listening to them since I was just a kid which is 14 years.
The long growl or yell or bark that Maynard does near the end is by far the best representation of power by voice ever. Tool changed my life back in the day.

Every since I discovered Tool, I tend to compare everything else to them. And of course nothing else quite measures up. These guys have been at it for thirty years now and they're still in a league by themselves. They're so on-point with this track that it causes me to forget that this is their early stuff.
Tool is a genre all it's own. The musicians are all phenomenally talented and Maynard is one of (if not THE) greatest lyricist ever.
Hell yeah. first time I heard Sober from some guy I worked with I was hooked. Nothing will ever be created like this or any band and nothing comes close to how perfect they are.
I feel the same. Other music is still obviously good and there's so much out there, but I always come back to Tool. We kinda spoil ourselves with this band and comparing to other music, just isn't fair lol.
Can't agree more. I can't ever find similar artist to Tool, though some B-side songs from random artists sporadically comes up here and there that I feel like 'hmm this is close enough' and even that is hard to find. If anyone have a list of artists or songs similar to Tool please share with us!

I found Tool on a WatchMojo list when I was like, 7 or 9 years old. I actually got WAY deeper into metal thanks to them.

It sucks that Swamp Song is the only song they played from it on the Fear Inoculum Tour! Most of of the songs require a lot of screaming, & Maynard doesn't want to blow his voice out, so we get screwed... Concert was still EPIC tho!
