  • 25 Investigates received an anonymous tip that the chief moved to Punta Gorda and a public records search shows he’s registered to vote there.
He has been working remotely for about a year and a half due to “unusual” circumstances.

“Overhaul” is the correct term. Police reform will never happen. Once you’re trying to reform something, it’s already beyond reform. The entire system of policing needs to be shut down and rebuilt. From the academy, to the commissioners.

As a former police officer myself, there is NO way a chief can effectively run a police department remotely. These two men are delusional to believe the stupidity they spewed out in this video. This never should have happened. It is so far beyond extreme greed, it is totally incomprehensible. Tillinghast should be made to pay back the last 18 months pay, and Clark should be made to pay back his last 18 months pay also. This school has had a history of hiring Presidents who only wanted to take the money and not do their jobs and this is a prima facie case of willful, reckless endangerment to everyone on that campus. It's a top bottom issue. If the superiors are acting inappropriately, it just gives the rest the green light. Massachusetts needs a complete renovation. It's no secret that MA has one of the most corrupt forces in America and it's been going on for decades. The silver lining with the KR case is that it's finally shedding light to this madness.

In my FL city, the last police chief served 5 years as chief after retiring after 30 years working up the ranks to Deputy Chief. Finally, a new Mayor decided 35 years was long enough and encouraged him to "retire" (for the second time). Only he didn't retire, he went out on a scam worker comp claim and collected on that for 5 more years.

Pretty soon, police chiefs in Massachusetts will be making more than Corporate CEO's. If the Chief needs to care for a relative in Florida, he should take an unpaid leave of absence and the College should appoint the deputy to take over. This situation is seriously wrong and needs to be fixed ASAP.
