They had no reason to even go inside the house. They checked outside of her house and didn't find anybody and then she told them she didn't need anything from them anymore. But for some reason instead of just leaving at that point, they decide to do some "further investigating" and step into the house. Police officers job is to investigate crimes, they are not mental health professionals. What crime were they investigating at that point? They should have left her alone. No one called for a wellness check.

They quickly pivoted to making her the perp/prey once they concluded there was no intruder. He intimidated his way into her apartment for a fishing expedition. They weren't searching for an intruder in her tiny apt, they were looking for anything illicit that they could arrest her for. They also wanted her ID to check for outstanding warrants they could arrest her for and it was all done illegally. Paper ID isn't required because your called the cops for help and this explains why many minorities do not call the cops under any circumstances because most cops only view them as a potential perpetrator and not a tax paying civilian entitled to municipal services like police.

It's not a state thing, it's a "brotherhood" thing. I live in Wichita Falls Texas and one of my friends was a jailer. She got a reckless DWI and soon after got recruited into being a police officer. I feel that if the "justice system" can ruin a citizen's life via charges that can affect your ability to get jobs for years of your life, then a person who already works on the inside shouldn't be able to get a job in any other law enforcement position.

Lying on camera like this is something that I never seen, he is clearly used to it which is why he has a habit of not following protocol and having his cam on from start to finish of every interaction. This cop was disgustingly manipulative. You don’t laugh when you have just killed someone, while he was laughing his partner was at his trunk trying to gather himself and hold his emotions. While his partner was left holding her wound and hearing her last breaths being traumatized this cop was outside trying to figure out her mental health after the fact, after he already ended her life. Why were the police in the home in the first place? They were called for a prowler outside of the home. How do you look for someone outside when you're inside the building? Seems to me, the police should have let the lady know they were there, to lock her doors and they would check around. Then get back with her after the check around to finish their call. They had no business being in her home!

The day after the body cam footage from this woman’s event was released …it was also quietly announced that the officer responsible for the dispatching of the 4 yr old cousin would NOT even be charged. They’re using this event to cover up another.

I believe the Illinois State Police are just as guilty as this criminal officer. They are the ones who hired him and admitted him to the force. The Illinois State Police should be charged with homicide in this case.
She said the entity has sovereign immunity from being sued for negligent which is usually the case but the actual person doing the hiring and approving the hiring can usually be sued and they don't have sovereign immunity.

That would be hard, I agree, and I’m speaking as someone going into law enforcement. But it also places the good ones (unlike the murderer here that killed her) in danger and their families. For example, retaliation and much more.
