Hi Steve, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your neighbor. I know exactly what you’re going through. I was very close with a neighbor of mine, and she suddenly passed away. I was devastated when it happened. I spent time doing the would’ve, could’ve, should’ves and kept wondering if I had forgotten to let her know how much her friendship had meant to me. After a while, I began to shift my focus instead on remembering all of the wonderful conversations that we had had, and the many memories that we had built over the years. By doing so, it helped me to heal and take comfort in knowing that one day I will see her again. Now, when I look over at her house, I no longer feel sad. Yes, I miss her, but I smile and feel grateful for having known her. As for your channel and what you are trying to accomplish, I think it is a wonderful idea. But please do not put so much pressure on yourself to make everything perfect. Building a channel and an audience takes time. It will happen. Just keep plugging away, and being yourself, and things will fall into place. And even if in the end, all you do is help one person - that is just as important as helping 1000+ people. It’s not about quantity it’s about quality. The fire pit sounds like a lovely idea. Having the family come around to enjoy it will be great. Just take your time and it will get accomplished. I hope your wrist feels better soon. So sorry you got injured. I know a lot of channels on here spend time editing and perfecting their videos with fancy intros, etc.. That’s all fine and good, but it is very time consuming. Unless somebody really has the time to do all of that, it can become quite taxing. Please don’t believe a lot of the hype that people on channels tend to put out. While there are some channels that are the exception to the rule…like those who get favor with algorithms - most channels have to plug along and slowly build a following. And that’s OK. There’s nothing wrong with good honest hard work. When talking about important issues like mental health or substance abuse issues, I personally prefer when somebody points the camera and just lets it run with mistakes, pauses, and all. It comes across more authentic and real. My videos are never perfect. I tend to trip over my words, and I post it anyway because I’m just being myself. But that’s just me. Always do what’s best for you. 🙂 I noticed that you made a comment about being on diazepam and something about the frustration about wanting or feeling the need to be on more. This is coming from a place of care and concern - so please do not be offended. I am not a doctor, but please before you go down that road, do research on the long-term effects of using diazepam/benzodiazepines. That’s all I’m gonna say on the matter. No, I mentioned how having the same doctor yet how he subscribers differently to different patients, and when you ask for something different, he goes on one, but I totally understand and agree with you. It's great to read how much you opened up in ur comment, I so appreciated this and nuff respect to you, big man 🤝🫶👊
