It seems that pleather and rubber are a way for Howard Chan to show how he has absolutely 0 respect for the customers and cares only about satisfying his unsatisfiable greed. Him thinking using fragile materials on what are considered high end products is a good idea shows that he is an idiot who has no understanding of what high end means. We need to start a petition advocating for him to step down as ceo because we’ve had enough of his bs. Anybody who agrees please reply.
I've skipped so, so many figures due to pleather. Usually, if it's been belt only, or something, I have given it a pass. Never had problems with those. I would pay extra for real leather, to have that peace of mind. There is a reason why I don't own a Hot Toys Vader, for an example. I mainly collect Iron Man, so I don't really need to worry about it most of the time, and if it's something else, it's usually more cloth-heavy.

But, considering the new T-800 BD, as an example, with a real leather outfit, it probably doesn't cost much extra, 'cause the price is what you'd expect, and they still splurged on the base, and everything else.

How do they design the head sculpts? Is it from scanning digital images? I’m guessing they don’t do scans of the actors personally? Different note: I have to get the Savage Oppress.
They mentioned "enhanced durability" for this in one of the announcement pics - guess we'll find out. Hoping they used some of that for Kenobi / RotJ Vader since they feel a bit different from the old ones (IMO). But... 90% of the time they just mention the tailored suits and don't list changes - like with Starkiller and the nylon, so who knows lol.
I have the original and agree that the head on this one does make that one look a lot less good. Version one looks fine until this one shows up to rock the house. Still happy with my version one and I only need one Gideon. That helmet though is amazing, would have been thrilled with this one.

Giancarlo''s Head sculpt is perfect and the uniform and parts are amazing, but the figure is not for me. I got 1st season's Moff Gideon figure, but new head is excellent. The figure is excellent but i will not get this figure or maybe yes...but nowdays not...maybe in the future could go. But i am waiting for Original Trilogy and Prequels figures and check new Rogue One Galen Erson figure release that we'll see which version Hot Toys releases. I hope HT chose imperial navy officer uniform version. But we'll see what Hot Toys thought. Do not forget there are many STAR WARS OT and Rogue One characters that should be released.
Is there a reason you don't use gloves Justin? I heard rumors that using gloves on glossy figures is actually bad for them I'm not sure how true that is lol. As always fantastic review this figure is way cooler than I was expecting. Someone needs to use that new head as a base and make custom heads with the moostache for the 1.0.
Just not a fan of that, easy enough to wipe stuff down after, fingerprints are a fact of life. Also my camera is touch screen (phone) so gloves wouldn't work with that haha
I genuinely have never understood all the toxicity & hate that _'The Mandalorian'_ Season 3 got/gets! I, for one, loved it; still do! So any figure connected to any part of the series, is an automatic win, in my book… Even Gideon! 😆 If displaying a couple of Prætorian Guards either side of the Moff, I’d try my derndest to get a third Guard to display with Paz Vizsla, in fight poses… If cost prevents _three_ Prætorians, I’d simply put one with Gideon, up against Djarin, and the other against Paz… Of course, if cost is no object, you’ve got to get a few of them to look like they’re chasing Din Grogu (loved that scene)! 😄

Random question, but do you ever do reviews and then sell the figure, or do you only review figures that you intend on keeping? You do so many reviews, I imagine theres no way you have enough space to keep every figure, even though this is job + hobby.
Very rarely will I sell something as I like to keep older figures to compare to new versions in the future. If something really rubs me the wrong way or doesn’t excite me (Maul Hologram) it’s gone
