    Our boat caught one about 4 foot long and took it back to our hotel in Manzanillo. It was October in 1990. My wife and I and another couple survived, the rest of the gang threw their guts up. I loved it, we ate that fish the night after and it was fabulous. The best meal.

  • @artawhirler

    Their meat is called "mahi mahi" in supermarkets and restaurants so people won't think they're eating the beloved marine mammal.

    why they are called dolphin fish? are they related to dolphin?

    • @Crimsonking741

      No,they are not related.mahi mahi are a species of fish,and dolphins are a cetacean,which is a subspecies of mammals

    They really aren't Mahi Mahi or Manja Manja cause it means eat eat. I think sailors hears the Polynesians saying mahi mahi meaning to enjoy these fish.

    I call it the 'Average Lanky American Fish' due to many lanky americans such as myself having big ass foreheads. I call the Napoleonfish the 'Slightly Less Average Lanky American Fish' due to it having a slightly larger forehead.

    The facts are these fish are too disappearing from high fishing pressure. Once again the resource managers have failed. What was once a very common fish off south Florida is no longer

    • @jordanperron2101
      @jordanperron2101 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Realllly, hey? I guess it's hard to be able to say, but are the numbers over the world diminishing? Or are they maybe just being forced into new territories

    • @hansgruber2509
      @hansgruber2509 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jordanperron2101 These are highly migratory and flow the same natural routes for thousands of years. You can say like salmon but they have pretty much disappeared from the Atlantic coast due to over fishing and habitat destruction. The cod fishery off New England is gone. Its been shut down for 20 years still no recovery
