As a collector and dealer, I’ve been giving the cards to kids at shows. Recently I gave away approximately 40,000 cards at Chantilly. You can also donate them to the Breast Cancer booth too !
Really enjoyed this conversation, as it's down the lane of what I'm trying to accomplish as well. I think this is the first HTT episode I've listened to, and it's because of the two hosts.
I sold off most my junk wax commons on eBay in large flat rate shipping boxes. It wasn't worth my time to pack them up. I just couldn't get myself to throw them in the garbage. I only made $3-4 Dollars a box but with shipping the buyers were paying around $30. Might be worth selling if there wasn't shipping and sales tax 🤷
Maybe not use junk wax but some old 60s and 70s cards and wrap them up in packs of 15 or so and carry them to a nursing home and hand them out to the elderly Patients. I know they would love to relive that feeling of opening a pack and finding players of their favorite teams from their younger days.
Loved the conversation and how you approach it on all fronts, John.
Great conversation guys 👊🤙🤙

Great conversation guys.
Vermont Collection content spreading like wildfire!
Enjoyed the conversation. Sorry but it still boggles my mind how much people naively spend on junk wax but good for you sellers.

John, you should look at repackaging some of those cards and try to sell them at rummage or garage sales.
I got rid of a bunch of JW by building player lots and priced them to move
I just gave my son in law 15k cards. He passed them out at work to coworkers who had young kids
It takes me months to go thru collections. I break them down like John does and make sets, or I sell them at the flea market
Player lots priced to move is exactly my plan!
