I'm from Odisha. We were taught about Tamil history as well. I guess other states don't read about it because they weren't part of south indian kingdoms. Odisha was a part of the Chola empire and the Vijaynagar empire.

If you go by the scriptures Murugan Puranam/ Skand Puran clearly says that Sanskrit speaking Brahmin Agastya Muni created Tamil. Even Tamils oldest grammar book, a first sangam era book called Agattiyam/Akattiyam was created by Sanskrit speaking Brahmin Agattiyar /Agastya Muni. & another Sangam era book called Tolkappiyam was written by Tolkappiyar. To be honest with you the History of Tamil can't even be done in multiple of series because they're impact as Humanity as whole at least on this planet is way beyond. This is a well done short summary with great contents of Tamil culture(The culture which proved the nature of the existence from the beginning, & still western society believes it has came from so called white scientists). It make me sad to see the world population which living in ignorance without even knowing the power with in each & every one of us(Human being). In English Literature courses of Delhi University, we fortunately study Silappatikaram, an ancient Jain Tamil Epic. It's a fabulous story.

Tamil is classified as the only "Super Classical" languages as classified by Harvard university since Tamil satisfied all 11 prerequisite condition for classification for classical status unlike the rest.
Some classical language are Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Hebrew & Tamil, Sanskrit, .
N closest was Hebrew & Japanese with 9, I believe (from recollection) n the rest below that.with Sanskrit @4-5 (no hindi or Urdu in the list surprisingly) and Chinese meeting 6-7 criterions.

So older civilisations were more advanced in maths then itself which we don't quite appreciate.
There are 5 most intelligent languages - Tamil, Japanese, Latin, Hebrew, Chinese if not Arabic
The reason Bcos the language has continuity in those language which is linked to maths, transpiring into the "Logic" realms leading advance civilisation development and so the claim of "intelligent" Language.
For example, In English the number stops at 10 (discontinuity) n there is a disconnect after 10 (between 11 to 19) the continuity behind only after number 20 onwards (21 23 .. 29 ... 30, 31 ... 50, 51 ... 80 .. 99 , 100, 101..... 111 .... 121 ... 150 to infinity)
So after 10 , 11 shd be read as ten one ten two not eleven or twelve but after 20, 21 is read as twenty one or 33 as thirty three n so on but the disconnect is between ten and nineteen (shd be ten ten (10) to ten nine (19) as per by logic.
Bcos of this shortcomings other languages does not fit into the most intelligent languages as per experts who classified it to be so.
The continuity is what separates these 5 languages from the rest.

I'm from Odisha. We were taught about Tamil history as well. I guess other states don't read about it because they weren't part of south indian kingdoms. Odisha was a part of the Chola empire and the Vijaynagar empire.

To be honest with you the History of Tamil can't even be done in multiple of series because they're impact as Humanity as whole at least on this planet is way beyond. This is a well done short summary with great contents of Tamil culture(The culture which proved the nature of the existence from the beginning, & still western society believes it has came from so called white scientists). It make me sad to see the world population which living in ignorance without even knowing the power with in each & every one of us(Human being). Spirituality is not about being a super human it's all about realizing being a human is super.

All the gurus sages mystics ancestors throughout the history known the truth by self realization(God realization) but obviously in a society which so blindly submerged in to their own self created ignorance those enlightened beings are labeled as crazy.
Yes in fact it make sense that the ignorant people(99% of people in the modern society) live in superiority complex by their self created illusionary EGO & became entirely blind for truth & still living in the delusional MATRIX. Meditation is the key to self realization & therefore Enlightenment.
