    Nice video, I upgraded my Purple Haze Ramblus very similiar, including tires . I'm a 67 still grinding since 1962, started MTB 2019 .Now emtb helps battle cancer. Also maintaining and improving bike helps mental and physical conditioning .Rock til u Drop!

    I’m all for upgrades but for the price of those upgrades you could get a full suspension e-mtb with a dropper and fork. There’s some big discounts on ebikes right now.

      Thanks! This was meant to be an overview of the process, but is there something in particular you felt as though you didn't understand how something was done? Would love to share some advice or perhaps we could do a standalone how-to video on a single process?

      @@ElectricBikeJournal thanks for your reply! It would be great if you could do a detailed video about the dropper post replacement. You could show us how you fish the cable, how to adjust it, etc.

    Great information here. Can you provide the size specifications for the dropper post, seat and the forks?

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The seat post diameter is 31.6 and the head tube is standard tapered. These specifications and other can all be found on the aventon site :)

    I have the Ramblas. Why did you feel the need to upgrade the fork? Mine works great.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fork it comes with is a bit on the heavy side and has no adjustments to tune for terrain, weight, etc.

    I have a Ramblas and have upgraded to the same seat. I was also curious about the suspension dropper post but don't love that I lose the ability to drop it as low to get it out of the way. Maybe I will change my mind as my skills improve with time. I'm also looking to upgrade it to tubeless in the future and run the highest volume tires I can (I think 2.6" is the largest that will fit this frame?) I come from a background of dirt biking and mountain unicycling. The latter is similar to riding a hard tail, and I know from experience how much a low, tuned tire pressure can help add "suspension" to the feel of the ride, as well as improve traction.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice! Great saddle right? If you favor the amount of travel to slam your dropper you're better off sticking with what you have... Tubeless and 2.6's would be a great setup for you, what tires do you plan to get?

    • @left_Dane_right_Dane
      @left_Dane_right_Dane หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ElectricBikeJournal I haven't received my saddle order quite yet but I've seen nothing but great reviews for it and I was happy to see you guys recommend it after I'd already ordered hah!
      I'm not sure that I need that extra travel of the seat, if I don't, I'd really like to get the suspension dropper post. If they make a longer one in the future I'd probably just buy it straight away!
      I'm not sure on tire choice, I am still too new to know about what options are out there. But an eMTB specific tire for sure. Any recommendations?

      @ElectricBikeJournal  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@left_Dane_right_Dane oh boy, you're in for a treat, its a great saddle.
      Yes a longer one needs to happen! Just need more people to ask for it!
      the right tires? well of course e rated is the right direction for sure. It really depends on your riding terrain. There are a lot of great tires and they all shine differently in different seasons and on different terrain. Currently have a bike with Maxxis Assegai/ Minion DHR combo, as well as a bike with Schwalbe Magic Mary/ Big Betty combo. LIke them both but lean towards the Schwalbes for our area.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal

      Ours were the regular. Either would fit. Verify the measurements on their site and measure your hand and maybe reference the grips you currently have to envision the size difference.

      @@ElectricBikeJournalI’m surprised you didn’t recommend the specialized turbo tero 3.0 standard frame based on your comparison video. More road oriented, and the fact the standard frame is considerably cheaper than the Aventon Ramblas at the moment ($2,249). If I had the extra money at the moment I’d be jumping on that deal.

      @@ElectricBikeJournal checked out some e-bikes today. From Aventon: level 2, soltera 2, pace 500.3 along with a belt drive bike from Tenways. The pace 500.3 felt the best. The soltera and tenways were more of a workout with the hills, and I have 2 road bikes for workouts. The pace was still relatively light compared to the level 2 and plenty powerful, although I don’t like the pace handlebars. Do you recommend any comparable bikes to the pace? Anything from ride1up or any other brand?

Adding thousands in parts seems wasteful unless you're a dentist lol. Dont get me wrong its awesome and I want one, but by the time I beat the crap out of the existing components I may want to upgrade but I would like to know going in the motor will last.
