I hate people saying it’s karma. My uncle has the same diagnosis. How are people with loved ones who have it are supposed to feel when they are hearing an illness is punishment from the universe? How are people with other illnesses supposed to feel being told that their disability is punishment? Most of us will become disabled the older we get
What she is going through is a combination of consequences of her lifestyle choices. That’s it and it happens to everyone eventually if you live long enough. It’s not always physical consequences. We see the results of our actions in a variety of areas of our lives.
As an 80s millennial (so Reganomics/WarOnDrugs/WarOnBlackPeople/9-11/The Bush Administration-etc.) , I can honestly say a plethora of us either ARE functional addicts or WERE; be it food, alcohol, caffeine, vaping, laced up 420-etc. What’s happening to Wendy is a symptom of a larger issue. Once I healed from my CSA and DV trauma, I learned to moderate EVERYTHING in my life to keep me balanced. I don’t think Wendy ever healed from her a$$ault OR her tumultuous relationship with her father, so she chose medication over moderation.
The problem with "Karma" is that it's a part of Hindu religious beliefs and has been completely colonized in terms of what it means. I listen to a podcast by an Indian and Pakistani friend group, and they broke down how Americans and westerners have bastardized what "Karma" means. So ppl apply it to revenge and gaining capital, but that's not the original intent of the concept
Thank you for this comment. In an effort to decolonize my mind-not just from the effects from enslavement of my African ancestors, but other whitewashed ideologies affecting brown and indigenous cultures-I would really appreciate the name of the podcast. I’m learning that I know so much about so little and I need to expand my knowledge and range of support/allyship for all my fellow POC’s, since we were all at one point in history, victims of the “crown”.
My mom who lives with me now has the exact same thing as Wendy and for the exact reason. And while many ppl drink, the level of drinking she did to get to this level of dementia so early in life is unreal. UNREAL.
it would be prayers & sorrows if it was Andy Cohen or Perez..“how you doingg?!” is the best daytime tv tagline THUS FAR😭 can’t even bring myself to watch the documentary. i wish her the best, her career had a nice run fr 🫶🏾
She has said some messed up stuff about people over the years however, so does the news 24/7 nothing she has said over the years in my opinion is karma for what she's going through healthwise
I haven’t watched it yet, I have to be I the right mental state of mind 😢! My grandma 🧑🏽🦳experienced mild dementia before going on to ❤️🩹glory 🕊️! That wasn’t karma it was her underlying health issues & old age🙏🏾.
I am aligned with retiring “karma”. When I hear about someone being diagnosed with a condition, my first feeling is one of wish them healing and my second thought is a look to my own habits. I stopped drinking alcohol in October 2022. No reason other than as I am getting older I know any illness that pops up will be exacerbated by alcohol. Be well and take care ya’ll. Health really is key.
And if you notice, those who are reveling in and finding joy in her demise never consider their own “karma.” And btw, I agree with your understanding of it. It’s not “Oh you did something bad, so bad is going to come back on you.” It’s “You did A, and as a result, you will experience B.” B may be good or B may be bad. Bad things happen to people who do bad and bad things happen to people who do good. Not everyone gets what others may feel that they deserve.
I deal with a relative with dementia who has advancing dementia, yet drinks like a ship of docked sailors-it's difficult. Dementia makes people mean and mean people UNBEARABLE 😞
@@iamfukked7064 from the documentary..I didn’t make it up or decided on my own...now from what I’ve read, not what I said..I’ve heard it said it was alcohol related dementia..how true it is..I’m.not a doctor....but that’s what’s being said AND reported..what understanding did you receive ? Not trying to be disrespectful..did you hear something different ?
So I am a black woman who is a medical student and I wanted to say that Wendy Williams has Frontotemporal dementia, meaning her frontal lobe (which is in charge of your higher order thinking and personality) as well as her temporal lobe (behavioral, memory, recognition) are deteriorating first, this is why she might demonstrate behavior that is outside of the norm for her, the odd thing about this dementia is that it happens to people relatively young than other dementias, specifically in their 50s and early 60s maybe even younger. As for alcohol, I was taught alcohol can “pickle” your cerebellum, which is in charge of your motor coordination and balance, overtime, and that people who have used excessive alcohol all their life have increased gaps in their brain (we call sulci), ofc the pictures we’ve seen is like people who drink 40s everyday but nonetheless, I agree with you Justin, alcohol, if taken should be in moderation or not at all (ofc up to the person)
Anyways we are also taught, if you are biologically female you have less body water and so you’re healthy standard would be one drink a day, a drink being mm a shot of liquor, a 6 ounce beer or a glass of wine, for people who are biologically male it’s 2 drinks, and then I want to know for people who express differing biology then the binary how it affects them but anyways ya just so y’all know. Also alcohol does irritate the stomach lining and intestines, it just does, it also weakens your esophageal spinchter or esophageal opening rather so could cause acid reflux too
The blaming is ableist, but also I think it's a way ppl deal with the fear and discomfort of the impermanence of everything. I think ppl think: because Wendy wasn't the kindest to others, drank & did drugs, she developed dementia; if I/ my loved ones abstain from talking ish, drinking excessively, and doing drugs, I/we won't develop dementia. It's a way to seek control in a situation where we don't have that much control. It's always so jarring for me when I'm reminded that our personalities aren't stable at all, and can shift drastically from illness, a injury, etc. Interestingly, we accept the impermanence of our personalities when we think about growing up... (e.g. when I was young I was so xyz versus as an adult I'm xyz). However sitting with changes as we get to later stages in life feels so much more difficult. Great video!
If it’s karma then why hasn’t it happened to all the yt ladies that have done and said much worse than Wendy to stay relevant. Wendy is an icon and trailblazer on the level of the greats like Barbara Walter’s. She did what she did unapologetically and if you followed her you know about all the great things she did and how big her heart is
The way people talk about addiction was evident to me whenever i was online after a new episode of Euphoria. I personally watched the first season and didnt rly care for it but as time went on and the second season came out the more people talked about the show and addiction the more i realized the lack of empathy and how judgemental, hypocrtical people are.
Stop drinking mixed drinks at restaurants, bars, and clubs. The owners are refilling top-shelf liquor bottles with bottom shelf liquor, and it's making customers sick. Even bottle service is a scam in ATL.
I am not a Wendy Williams fan but I watched the documentary and my heart and prayers go out to her. I am a survivor of Graves Disease, if it is not managed it can be fatal. Also, I wish her well.
Overall whats happening to wendy and her son is very sad. I empathize with her son cause if my mom was sick and i couldnt spend what could be her last days with her because of well greed. Her physical gaurdians are greedy id be pissed. I can empathize with the whole situation however it doesnt change to me that in her good health she was a nasty piece of work. I feel the same when rappers die. I dont erase how i feel about ppl just because something bad happened to them
Thank you for your empathy. Saying dementia is karma in her situation is no different than saying every person with a disability deserves to live with their condition and face ableism
This is a time where Wendy NEEDS love and patience. She’s going to need someone who loves Jesus and walks in a manner that is an example of him to a world that’s watching. Because if Wendy is facing a terrible test of her life and potential end, then the most important thing in her life is experience forgiveness for her life’s work….and she can experience that at the foot of the cross. I really hope she can come to see the harm her lifestyle, and really her show did to a lot of people. There are six things the lord hates and seven that are an abomination to him: ”There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.“ Proverbs 6:16-19 I hope she comes to see the damage her show did to a lot of people, and further influenced an already problematic culture of celebrity gossip.
Watching the documentary was very triggering for me because my father is 86 and has dementia and it’s been really hard for me and my family to deal with😢
COME THRU, JARED!! I really do feel--along with Meg--that your voice is needed in this season, regarding navigating and negotiating mental health challenges and needs: especially for African-Americans living on this hostile land. How you made the bodily functions connection was good too--got into them guts and everything (Pause). I strongly feel that Americans are grappling with shortfalls in the way they define things like deservedness and the correlation or even equation between someone they see that has, "Secured the Bag", and them ACTUALLY being level and WELL!!America's brand of Capitalism has a dehumanizing effect in several manifestations but, in particular, I have observed it in a CALLOUSNESS that forms in the way we assign value to persons; in this regard, it can very much be a corrupting agent to one's Soul. We must never lose empathy, and there is clearly a much higher bar for deeming someone ineligable for empathy, or even just sympathy, than many thought and some still think.
Karma isn't even a real thing. If it was our ancestors would be satisfied right about now. All the police who took innocent lives would be dealt with too. The priest who abused children would be taken care of. Karma is just another superstitious bs
Definitely not Karma. She's actually fulfilled more in this lifetime and has had cultural impact. My step-father has stroke induced aphasia of the frontal lobe and it has been challenging. People are cruel to him for not being able to articulate and his emotional outbursts (as if it couldn't happen to any of us) I pray Wendy will be surrounded by people who are truly for her and her overall wellbeing.
No for real, it took me having an alcohol addiction -> getting over my alcohol addiction to realize how bad alcoholism is here in America. How intensely promoted it is, how you're made to feel like the odd one out for choosing NOT to drink. We truly live in a bizarre world. When you consider how often people choose to run away from their problems instead of running to find a solution to aid them, I think it helps trying to comprehend these bizarre realities lol.
My thing is she been ill prior to our knowledge seeing the doc explained to me why she may have said the things she said, the focus should the ppl who put her up to it and lived off it. Don’t just holler Wendy’s name.
I agree with you. She’s still a human being. Also, I have had a speech impediment since high school and just like you, I can tell when I’m about to stutter on a word so I quickly change the word before anyone notices. Reading in class was the WORST for me because you have to read word for word. Can’t replace any words 😅
Lmao “curban on curban,” that got me 🤣 However, I agree that it’s extremely insensitive to say it’s “karma” for Wendy. What about the people who suffer from these ailments that didn’t participate in her line of work? Did they “deserve” this? It’s not right.
Kevin is not responsible for her downfall. If she knew he cheated on her from the beginning, during and at the end of marriage and she still stayed then he’s not responsible. Also Karma at least how it’s practiced in India doesn’t work as tit for tat or reap what you sow.
Not karma. I just want people to stop pretending like the criticism and indifference to her health condition aren’t warranted. She chose to use her journalistic abilities to kick folks while their down. And praising her as the pioneer of the media landscape we have now isn’t a flex considering the effects of Charlamagne, wannabe-Charlamagnes, podcasts, and blogs that favor mess over actual journalism.
All the fans blaming her husband but most of her inner circle including her family admit her husband was the main person that helped hold her together all those years. I read Wendy autobiography years ago and she wrote that he been cheating on her off and on for years and she knew it from the begining. Now she wants to act offended by the cheating. Wendy lived a wild lifestyle for years.
Dementia isn't karma it's devastating. I watched my grandmother and father lose every part of themselves then slowly die💔. I hope she has the best people around her now cause she is vulnerable forever.
The Lord's judgment then !!!!!! At the end of the NIGHT, Wendy Williams hurt a lot of people PERIODT!!!! Now, in saying all that, I'm saddened by what she is going through. I hate to see her pain
Justin “I might cut back on the weed… I might” 🤣🤣I couldn’t watch the documentary. The karma conversion with Wendy is sad bc she was entertaining the only reason ppl didn’t like her was bc she would call the celebrities out on their mess.
I had a patient at a assistant living facility and that's the lie her parents would say she got alcohol dementia until one day rhe young lady 🦜 ng about all the drugs ahe habe taken and went to jail and rehab for she was only 23!
Chile, my fiancé and I live with his brother and his brothers wife. One of the reasons I want to move and we are moving is because I can’t deal with the weed anymore. They, but especially his brother smoke multiple times a day AND EVERY SINGLE DAY. And they think it’s normal. Add to the fact that their relationship is codependent and toxic, even when they’re “good” they’re toxic. Because all they do for the most part is stay home and get high. Like bruh….that’s just a sad existence. And when they’re sober they’re definitely moody. Until they smoke then they’re laughing like hyenas. It’s trippy to watch and I just can’t be around it. My fiancé and I are the complete opposite. We love wine but even that we have cut down on to just focus on our health more, but sober or tipsy we’re consistent in the fact that our relationship is healthy and stable.
I don’t drink a lot and I try not to judge people. I do wonder what people have going on internally when a person drinks so much so often. The vaping might be worse than cigs. The behavior is being seen firsthand on a regular basis.
I never watched her show, so I don't know that much about Wendy. What I believe is that regardless of her past, she needs our prayers. Let's lift up a person who has fallen. This could happen to any of us.

If this is karma for Wendy Williams then is this same disease karma for Bruce Willis? What did he do? People really need to think before they speak.
That’s the same thing I said. People are so mean.
Right. The religious foolishness is so ingrained, ppl refuse to think🤦🏾♀️

Your openness about yourself made me subscribe, I felt your heart.
Truth. If Karma was real, this world would be very different.
My mom who lives with me now has the exact same thing as Wendy and for the exact reason. And while many ppl drink, the level of drinking she did to get to this level of dementia so early in life is unreal. UNREAL.
I'm not watching the documentary. I feel bad for Wendy
I believe in Karma but I'm on the fence when it comes to Wendy
Karma never comes when we want it to but it comes sometimes quicker than you can think
it would be prayers & sorrows if it was Andy Cohen or Perez..“how you doingg?!” is the best daytime tv tagline THUS FAR😭 can’t even bring myself to watch the documentary. i wish her the best, her career had a nice run fr 🫶🏾
She has said some messed up stuff about people over the years however, so does the news 24/7 nothing she has said over the years in my opinion is karma for what she's going through healthwise
I never liked her but putting my personal feelings aside, no one should ever go through what she’s going through
It’s his opening statement for me. This is why I’m sub😊. This is why I support the channel. Keep it going king of reads
Karma “she must be back dated in the 1800s” the way I screamed 😂😂😂😂 I love you Justin!
Curban on curban caught me off guard in the best way 😅
And if you notice, those who are reveling in and finding joy in her demise never consider their own “karma.” And btw, I agree with your understanding of it.
It’s not “Oh you did something bad, so bad is going to come back on you.” It’s “You did A, and as a result, you will experience B.” B may be good or B may be bad. Bad things happen to people who do bad and bad things happen to people who do good. Not everyone gets what others may feel that they deserve.
NEVER SEEN THE WENDY WILLIAMS DOCUMENTARY
So happy your feeling better and more like yourself thank you for being you and giving us a break from the f’ed up world love you Justin
I always love hearing your perspective on these things. Thank you so much!
I deal with a relative with dementia who has advancing dementia, yet drinks like a ship of docked sailors-it's difficult. Dementia makes people mean and mean people UNBEARABLE 😞
To my understanding... it was alcohol related...Wendy probably wouldn’t have got dementia otherwise
@@rosemaryrogers1478 where did you get that understanding?
@@iamfukked7064 from the documentary Ang B
I didn’t make it up or come to this diagnosis on my own...
Also alcohol does irritate the stomach lining and intestines, it just does, it also weakens your esophageal spinchter or esophageal opening rather so could cause acid reflux too
"I might even cut down on the weed" 👀 When you do I will too friend 🤣
Karma has to be busy!! LOL
Regardless of what is said...I’ve decided to send my prayers up for Wendy 🔥
If it’s karma then why hasn’t it happened to all the yt ladies that have done and said much worse than Wendy to stay relevant. Wendy is an icon and trailblazer on the level of the greats like Barbara Walter’s. She did what she did unapologetically and if you followed her you know about all the great things she did and how big her heart is
Karma backlogged. Haha
Well said!! I still haven't watched the documentary in its entirety because it was hard.
If Karma was real people like Henry Kissinger who did horrific war crimes wouldn’t have lived to 99 and he actually would of been held accountable.
I dont erase how i feel about ppl just because something bad happened to them
Exactly!
There are six things the lord hates and seven that are an abomination to him:
”There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.“
Proverbs 6:16-19
I hope she comes to see the damage her show did to a lot of people, and further influenced an already problematic culture of celebrity gossip.
I prefer Daijisho, but I appreciate you for supporting the community as a whole. Thanks Russ.
Her being in denial about her hubby for so long seems like dementia Is just another why to cope with him embarrassing her
Karma isn't even a real thing.
People are cruel to him for not being able to articulate and his emotional outbursts (as if it couldn't happen to any of us)
I pray Wendy will be surrounded by people who are truly for her and her overall wellbeing.
Wendy is trash and has no real friends as a result.
I’m ready to retire “karma” too because I don’t believe in it either! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
She got what was coming for her. Every dog has it’s day.
I agree with you. She’s still a human being. Also, I have had a speech impediment since high school and just like you, I can tell when I’m about to stutter on a word so I quickly change the word before anyone notices. Reading in class was the WORST for me because you have to read word for word. Can’t replace any words 😅
definitely not karma. people judging do the same shit she’s done on here, instagram, twitter etc
Lmao “curban on curban,” that got me 🤣
However, I agree that it’s extremely insensitive to say it’s “karma” for Wendy. What about the people who suffer from these ailments that didn’t participate in her line of work? Did they “deserve” this? It’s not right.
I saw the documentary and it was sad to see her like that
Kevin is not responsible for her downfall. If she knew he cheated on her from the beginning, during and at the end of marriage and she still stayed then he’s not responsible. Also Karma at least how it’s practiced in India doesn’t work as tit for tat or reap what you sow.
How does it work then in India? What concept would India prescribe to the word “ karma”
I agree with you 💯 percent there is no such thing as karma
I don't believe in karma either. I'm 39 and still struggle with saying privilege and beverage 😃
Everyone thinks Karma just happens and doesn’t you have to literally turn the table on people
The Lord's judgment then !!!!!! At the end of the NIGHT, Wendy Williams hurt a lot of people PERIODT!!!! Now, in saying all that, I'm saddened by what she is going through. I hate to see her pain
You sow it, you'll rip it. That's just life.
I hope I’m not out of line. What were your symptoms of diverticulitis?
Love your content by the way.
Karma is Not A Punishment System.
Justin “I might cut back on the weed… I might” 🤣🤣I couldn’t watch the documentary.
The karma conversion with Wendy is sad bc she was entertaining the only reason ppl didn’t like her was bc she would call the celebrities out on their mess.
Karma must be busy 😂😂
I had a patient at a assistant living facility and that's the lie her parents would say she got alcohol dementia until one day rhe young lady 🦜 ng about all the drugs ahe habe taken and went to jail and rehab for she was only 23!
Hey Justin 🙋🏽♀️ love your show I like your hair to glad you're feeling better
Stay safe
Smoking CRACK is public is NEVER acceptable
If the people who say its her karma liked her, they'd say it's God's plan
I’ve experienced KARMA before and this is definitely NOT IT‼️… She’s hurting deeply inside from what KELVIN did‼️
I had to tell people on Facebook that the next time a loved one of theirs is diagnosed with an illness, I’m going to say it’s their karma too.
Same I am not a heavy drinker…. It kills nutrients
the vape puffing! 😂. stay out my business. and yes, it's definitely muscle memory. it's sad
