Yes and shame on everyone who mocked her, made fun of her, laughed and insulted her, when she had bouts of memory loss on the show, when her speech was affected, when she collapsed on stage, when they exploited her in the TMZ interview. All the while, this was happening to her unbeknownst to anyone. Frontotemperal dementia and aphasia. That should be a lesson to everyone to not judge what you do not know. I feel so bad for her. She went through so many problems all at once. As we can see it has definitely taken it's toll on her. I'm a recovering addict. I've been clean for 2 yrs & 7 months. So, I do know what she's going through. I truly hope she gets the help she so desperately needs. This is why I wish our culture would stop glorifying alcohol and drug use like it's no big deal. It will have lasting effects on your health as you get older. I know people in this exact predicament over substance use.
Maybe you didn't hear but she has dementia (the same kind as Bruce Willis), apraxia, graves disease and lymphedema. All of these things explain her behavior. Alcohol isn't the cause of any of these. The alcohol abuse was probably her self- medicating her way through illnesses and conditions she had no idea that she had. Now they finally know. Your comment is irrelevant to the situation and extremely judgmental. If more people could understand WHY individuals take the substances they take, the world would be a better place. If you have an undiagnosed mental illness, you might take drugs to feel better. It makes sense because once you are diagnosed, you will be on legal drugs. How do you know people in her exact predicament when you don't actually know now or understand what it is? Comments like yours are so frustrating.

We need to overhaul the guardianship system, i’ve been through something similar recently myself and a vulnerable relative was taken away whilst the “guardian” financially abused them and stole all their money and assets, despite us being family we were frozen and blocked from all communication and knowledge on the matter, as a family we went crazy trying to contact lawyers, organisations, police, case workers, anyone who would listen and we were told there was nothing we could do. We eventually got control but our relative had been left in debt and all their valuable assets gone, they not only stripped them of their wealth but also their dignity and even though we were family we had no other option but to sit back and watch it happen.
I watched the first episodes of the series tbh i think her son was the one stealing money from her and i think thats why they froze her assets and locked the family out.
I don’t understand how a stranger is in control of her life what is going on?! I’ve seen the documentary today and I feel for Wendy. She’s very lonely, very angry, very lost and very ill. I feel like she fading in front of our eyes and a stranger is in charge of her life - this is ridiculous!!!

From a fiduciary perspective, Wells Fargo had an obligation to step in and protect her financially, given her son's exploitive spending. On another note, it's standard procedure for people in treatment centers not to be allowed to accept phone calls.
This is so sad! Something needs to be done about these “guardianships”. Guardians are just as capable of exploiting the vulnerable as anyone else. The family she be the FIRST OPTION when it comes to looking after their own family members instead of some outsider, unless it’s proven the family is causing the person harm or taking advantage of them, they should be looked after by their family.

Yes and shame on everyone who mocked her, made fun of her, laughed and insulted her, when she had bouts of memory loss on the show, when her speech was affected, when she collapsed on stage, when they exploited her in the TMZ interview. All the while, this was happening to her unbeknownst to anyone. Frontotemperal dementia and aphasia. That should be a lesson to everyone to not judge what you do not know. I feel so bad for her. She went through so many problems all at once. As we can see it has definitely taken it's toll on her. I'm a recovering addict. I've been clean for 2 yrs & 7 months. So, I do know what she's going through. I truly hope she gets the help she so desperately needs. After hearing what Whoopie said at the end of the show just broke my heart 💔 Wendy has the same illness as Bruce Willis. If it's not one thing it's another. Bless her heart. She needs to be around her family & focus on her health.

This is why I wish our culture would stop glorifying alcohol and drug use like it's no big deal. It will have lasting effects on your health as you get older. I know people in this exact predicament over substance use.
Maybe you didn't hear but she has dementia (the same kind as Bruce Willis), apraxia, graves disease and lymphedema. All of these things explain her behavior. Alcohol isn't the cause of any of these. The alcohol abuse was probably her self- medicating her way through illnesses and conditions she had no idea that she had. Now they finally know. Your comment is irrelevant to the situation and extremely judgmental. If more people could understand WHY individuals take the substances they take, the world would be a better place. If you have an undiagnosed mental illness, you might take drugs to feel better. It makes sense because once you are diagnosed, you will be on legal drugs. How do you know people in her exact predicament when you don't actually know now or understand what it is? Comments like yours are so frustrating.

We need to overhaul the guardianship system, i’ve been through something similar recently myself and a vulnerable relative was taken away whilst the “guardian” financially abused them and stole all their money and assets, despite us being family we were frozen and blocked from all communication and knowledge on the matter, as a family we went crazy trying to contact lawyers, organisations, police, case workers, anyone who would listen and we were told there was nothing we could do. We eventually got control but our relative had been left in debt and all their valuable assets gone, they not only stripped them of their wealth but also their dignity and even though we were family we had no other option but to sit back and watch it happen.
Its just like that movie- I care a lot. Sucks

From a fiduciary perspective, Wells Fargo had an obligation to step in and protect her financially, given her son's exploitive spending. On another note, it's standard procedure for people in treatment centers not to be allowed to accept phone calls.
This is so sad! Something needs to be done about these “guardianships”. Guardians are just as capable of exploiting the vulnerable as anyone else. The family she be the FIRST OPTION when it comes to looking after their own family members instead of some outsider, unless it’s proven the family is causing the person harm or taking advantage of them, they should be looked after by their family.
I don’t understand why they can’t contact her or even see her. That is family. 😢 Guardians should understand how important family is specifically of what she has.
