This is exactly what I have been looking for! Our last garden swing was metal and got so bad looking. I’ve searched for something that will stay good looking over time, and last a long time. This looks great. Thanks!
Great video. You made it look easy! 2 questions: 1. Did you not bevel the edge of the leg that went up into the bracket? I couldn't really tell and I didn't want to assume. 2. When you were adding the hangers for the swing, it looked like there was racking from side to side. Is this an issue and if so, how can this be corrected? Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thank you! No, I did not bevel the edge--there really is not enough reason to do so. Yes, there was some side to side sway--which is very typical of pretty much all the brackets there are, and of pretty much all A-frame structures. But if you try my latest new brackets--in green, blue, and dark bronze--you'll see that they fix this sway!
I like it! So do I understand correctly that these brackets will work with a beam that I make from 2 x 6 boards, if I can’t find a nice 4 x 6? If I make a beam out of three 2 x 6 boards screwed together, as you mention in the video, can you tell me which screws to use and how many screws to use? Thanks!
Thanks! Yes, they work just as great with a composite beam that can make from 2x6's as with the typical 4x6 beam, because they will fit any width beam. (The beam must be 5 1/2" tall, but can be of any width.) You can go to room2zoom.com for a short video that explains how to make a beam from 2x6's, and for lists of everything you need to make this porch swing.
Heyy!! Thanks for this easy design, I made it this afternoon and we love it !!
Thank you! I hope it becomes your favorite place to sit in the sun or shade, and just chill.

Thank you! This heavy-timbered swing will stay looking good for a long time!
You've saved me so much time, thank you!!!!
Thank you. Pretty easy, right?
