    I used to work for tsa and this is great information. Best way to understand what food you can take is that if it doesn't hold its shape without the container then you probably need to follow the 3-1-1 rule. For example, a sandwich doesnt need to follow the 3-1-1 rule but soup, yogurt, and guac has to stay under 3.4oz. **Glad you mentioned parents bringing a reasonable amount of food. You can usually only bring the amount that you need while you travel not the amount you'll be using during your entire stay.

    I have flown at least 6 times with my now 2.5 year old and each time I have been able to bring whole milk in a bottle or closed carton for him. I just point it out and hand it to the TSA officer and they do their screening. And then done. There was only one time I brought the whole milk in a carton (one of those Horizons Organic 8oz Milk) and I told them my then 1.5 year old needed it. They said in order to let it pass that I needed to be patted down. I agreed and they let me take it. I wasn’t about to pay $3 for a bottle of whole milk at one of those airport stores 😅.

      I understand TSA is just trying to keep us safe but they can be ridiculous at times. I also wouldn't have a problem wth being patted down but I guess I just don't see the correlation of an 8oz container of milk wth the off chance I have something nefarious under my clothes. lol

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suppose that frozen meals could be taken through security as long as they are frozen solid, not slushy. I would worry about them melting if there was a delay. I prefer dry foods that I can add hot water to, or shopping at a grocery store upon arrival. Safe travels! 🌺✈️ Heidi

    Can you request a specialty gluten free meal or snacks like you can when you need a kosher or vegetarian meal?

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some airlines have the option for gluten-free meals. The one we were flying this time didn't give that option. And some of the gluten-free meals we've been provided in the past were not very good (ie sandwich on moldy gluten-free bread). 🌺Heidi

    Hi Heidi, how about protein bars? Can you take around 12 if they fit in a ziplock bag? Thanks. Really enjoyed your tips and video. ❤

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  ปีที่แล้ว

      Protein bars should be fine to bring on without restriction, as long as they fit in your carryon or personal item. Protein powder falls under the rules for powders. And liquids are restricted. But solid foods aren’t limited, unless the airline has a rule about not bringing onboard outside food.

  • @user-ls3lm9zr3v
    @user-ls3lm9zr3v 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For protein powder packets or container what is the rule for that ? Face wash ? Face moisturizer ?

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Powders in carry-on bags are fine, but if they are over 12 ounces, they may require additional screening. So small packets would be fine. Liquids such as face wash and moisturizer can be up to 3.4 oz (100ml). I prefer to pack solid and powder toiletries, which are less likely to leak than liquids. Here's my video on travel toiletries: th-cam.com/video/FPAV_EB-UIc/w-d-xo.html

    Can you pack fruit from the mainland to Hawaii?

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it's not recommended. While you maybe allowed to take it on your flight you need to eat any fruit or vegetables before you pass through the gates otherwise you will be fined. There is usually an agriculture inspection that will warn you first to discard anything you haven't eaten. but again ,if you forget something you will be fined.

    • @KenshoQuest

      "Formula, breast milk and juice for infants or toddlers are permitted in reasonable quantities through the security checkpoint." I would refer directly to the TSA website to see if the item you would like to bring is exempt: www.tsa.gov/travel/special-procedures/traveling-children
