She was truly an innocent, taken down by Henry's desire for a son and another. I hope she is resting peacefully, knowing the world judges her innocent.

@Sean Gutierrez Daly she was a victim of Henry's. He accused her of crimes she didn't commit. He executed her on false charges just so that he could marry again. She was innocently put to death. But Anne had the last laugh after her daughter Elizabeth became one of the greatest queens and her reign was known as the golden age

Um excuse me but Anne actually chose to die a Queen rather than live out the rest of her days in a convent, although she would of had to admit she used witchcraft to seduce the King

I felt really sad for her. Her speech was not powerful since she had to praise a man who maliciousy wanted her to die because she did not give birth to a son and killed her brother and friends, to not be humiliated and not make people cheer for her death. She was innocent and she deserved to say what she did say in her last prayer. That makes this scene even more sad that even in her last moment she could not defend herself since strong women were considered as witches, she would only support this thinking and she wanted people to pray for her and be with her, not against. And she handled it as a true queen.

    • @eliwhite5009

She didn’t wanna put at risk her daugher Elizabeth (later the Queen of england Elizabeth I). Henry the VIII was a tyran that could harm Elizabeth anytime he wanted to and Anne didn’t wanna give him an excuse to do so.

    • @diannew6066

Read about her, don't go by a half-factual-mostly-artistic expression of her life. While she came to a sad end, she was totally without compassion or caring for anyone she had to step on to get what she wanted.

She said that "I have only a little neck" when the constable of the Tower (Sir Kingston) told her she was not to be burnt but beheaded with a sword by an executioner from Calais.
He said that her death would have been painless since the executioner would have cut off her head with just one blow.
To that she said "Yes I have heard the executioner is very good... and in any case I have a little neck".

There's mixed feelings towards Anne Boleyn. One reason that Anne was disliked was that she played a pivotal role in the English Reformation, a major religious upheaval in 16th century England. Henry wanted to divorce Catherine of Aragon so he can marry Anne but was unable to do so because of England's ties with the Roman Catholic Church. And as you already said, many people considered Catherine as Henry's rightful wife and Queen of England, whilst Anne was negatively seen as a usurper and was never really accepted as Queen.
However, one can also feel a lot of grief for Anne because she was also victim of a conspiracy that ultimately led to her downfall. The accusations levelled against her were false. She was wrongly convicted and was executed for charges she never committed thus she was innocent. On the day of the execution, the crowd that were present all kneeled on their knees out of respect for the Queen, highlighting that the people knew that she was innocent. Plus, she was also pushed into marriage with Henry by her own family as women back then didn't have much of a choice. Furthermore, she was also the mother of Queen Elizabeth I, who is regarded as one of England's and the Tudor dynasty's greatest monarchs, gaining her more admiration. All in all, whilst I agree that Anne was no saint and she did have her own flaws, it's sad how her reputation had been slandered and above all, the fact that she was innocently killed for crimes she never did, which was a clear miscarriage of justice against her.

I pray, and and beseech you all to pray for the life of the king - my sovereign lord and yours- who is one of the best princes on the face of the earth, who has always treated me so well. Wherefore I submit to death with a good will. Humbly asking pardon of all the world. If anyone should take up my case, I ask them only to judge it kindly.
