This looks like a nice run. Would love to try it out someday. Grab the balls with the pin between your index finger and middle finger. Also with these grips I don’t think the gloves help much. Awesome try though! And thanks for the video.

Jag har sprungit toughviking 5 ggr, kan rekomendera att sätta bollarna så kedjan hamnar emellan långfingret och ringfingret, samma sak när du tar ringarna så behöver du inte hålla med tummen som ett fast grepp, du kan göra en krok av fingrarna och bara "haka" fast dem, du är tillräkligt stark för alla hinder, bara en teknikfråga! Bra jobbat!

When it comes to the balls, you were trying to grip around the chain. I think the correct technique is to put the chain between your fingers. This is to center the grip on top rather than on the side where it's easy to slide off.
I recommend going to a rock climbing gym to train grip strength rather than holding dumbbells/kettlebells. There's a lot of variations on how you should grip things that holding a bar won't help you with.
the cannonballs, i put between pointing n middle finger, my gym mates some times do middle and ring finger. (i hold a kettlebell upside down to practice). other than that, maybe extra swing momentum would help? do u practice dead hangs too?
Good suggestion. I think the main thing I did wrong was putting both hands on the same ball, essentially "locking" my hands under each other, and thus getting stuck. I should probably have swung to the next ball instead, alternating my hands.
@@AndersPantzar when i first started, i would use both hands, single arms is hard because you have to lock off your upper back longer. you got this! i look forward to seeing you crush it! Europe has all the fun OCRs 🥲

Yeah, the gloves didn't help at all, I think I will run without gloves next time.
@@AndersPantzarI've noticed the gloves are hit or miss. I really like them for the rope climb but not great for the technical grip obstacles

The only issue with that is that it is against the rules and completely defeats the purpose of the obstacle 😅
But if you want to get better at the balls, get the metal screw between your index finger and middle finger.

Have you been trying to grip onto ball in a way to have it's chain between middle and ring fingers?
I think I tried both between the middle- and ring finger, and between the thumb and the index finger.

are there penaltys on all obstacles?
Yes. For this race you had to run 5 laps between two cones. Maybe 10-15 meters per lap. Not too bad, just time consuming.
