355 is a fantastic phone for a kid in 2004-2005. Of course, it is very simple, but all phones of that era are unique, have their own unique, stunning style. And not only different design, but also different content - software, interface, and most importantly - its unique, plug-in collection of sounds and melodies! Yes, most often these are midi polyphonic melodies, but they are all very distinctive. Many sounds of old phones should / deserve to be immortalized in history.
It's not a special phone. However, it does have a feature that made it special when compared to other phones of its time. It came with a DJ app that allowed you to make your own ringtones/melodies. You were able to share those via MMS, or keep them for yourself. Apart from that... menu transitions were slow, the "joystick" is prone to ignore your commands entirely, and the VGA camera (the reason why I bought one) was terrible. However, it made me very happy back then, and I'm sure that most kids back in the day would be happy with one too. I'm glad that there are a few of them still alive. 2000+ years push-button mobile phones and electronics are the best products / items. There is no soul in modern smartphones. Just glass and plastic. There is no soul, but many functions. So, about 8-10 years ago I went to the official philips website and seemed to have downloaded the midi library of sounds for this model, but my on pc player did not open / play it. Now I want to download it again and try to open it, but I'm not sure if that file still exists on their site.
