Aira Force - Gowbarrow Fell - 05-06-24

- Our latest adventure took place on 05-06-24, but I've been too busy to upload it until now.
Aira Force is located in woodland, very close to the western shore of Ullswater. This spectacular waterfall is always worth visiting. There is a viewing area right at the bottom, and you can also view it from above, on the small bridge. Autumn is the best time to go, but it's still worth it at any time of the year.
Once you've viewed Aira Force, it's highly recommended that you carry on walking further up into the woods, and take in the great views on Gowbarrow Fell. Standing at just over 1500ft, this fell has stunning views right along beautiful Ullswater, that really make the short walk worthwhile.

Now Aira Force is definitely a place, I know I've never been. But the name - like Dungeon Ghyll and Sour Milk Ghyll - has always had a special fascination.

I did a wildcamp there with my mate last year but the ferns were so height we were nearly down before we could find a pitch, which was not the best to be honest. Awful weather, what a day to go out but fair play to you for doing it. What a brilliant story about Tom and Jo and shows off all the best parts of the TH-cam community, loved that!
