Michael Saylor delivered, in his own words, his first keynote with slides this year. It was a brilliant speech, as one would have expected. Michael put bitcoin into perspective with other assets such as gold, bonds, equity, or real estate. He concluded that bitcoin is the best long-term investment to protect against inflation. The crowd was excited and awarded him with standing ovations.

How great was that? Michael's way of processing information and explaining it is second to no one. He makes so much sense, that it's down right scary. But, he's right. Global Bitcoin adoption is inevitable.

I’d contest that. He does do a good job of explaining the problem: inflation, money printing, etc.
But - like every other podcaster - immediately begins talking about one particular DLT that could solve it.
This is disingenuous.
Better : propose that a Coin could be regarded as hard money, and run on an immutable DLT, that can accommodate large numbers of people, and offer the promise of future Security.
Next : propose how a particular chosen coin meets those criteria.
If he wants to propose Bitcoin - sure; let’s see a demo on how it can meet these criteria.
IMO it cannot be the current version of BTC. Perhaps the original instances of Bitcoin could have. But that’s been abandoned.
Rendering Bitcoin insecure in future.
Yes - that’s a fairly lengthy conversation- but still quite doable.
Bitcoin needs mining. Mining needs to be paid for.
Current cost is ~$25 M per day.
In Future, Tx Fees alone will need to raise that much, at minimum.
But likely much, much more - esp if price of BTC rises.
Else - how does the ecosystem promise Security ?
This is the ONLY thing we need to hear from proponents of this particular DLT.
*The only thing.*
Yet it is the only issue they flatly refuse to discuss.
Bitcoin must become an MoE.
Why ? Because it needs lots & lots of high fee transactions to pay the Miners.
For it to be an SoV it must be seen as secure.
Security comes from Mining - as Saylor, et al, always point out.
So you need LOTS & LOTS of money spent on mining.
And that needs to be paid for.
Therefore we need to maximize high fee transactions.
But if the 2 primary use cases for BTC are :
1. HODL
2. Liquidity on Lightning….
Then how do you pay the Miners ?
If it’s not circulating.
So the question that every person should ask is :
*How can BTC be a good MoE ?*

As a result, there will be an enormous amount of capital that will flow into Bitcoin to capture an asset that cannot be devalued via monetary policy. It's real and it will happen. It's not a question of if but when. Read the latest news about JPM foray into Bitcoin ETF.

Damn, there is no second best!! I love to hear Micheal Saylor lectures on bitcoin. They hit different.
$btc fixes this. A fully decentralized, peer-to-peer network is unstoppable. Crypto is inevitable & shouldn't be controlled politically as the case of CBDCs. You work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K in a meme coin from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires.
Crypto currency shouldn't be used politically. Seems like away/excuse to control money. I thought Crypto currency was supposed to free from any political/ government control. Just an observation.
What strategy should a new investor like myself employ? I'd like to take advantage of this current global tide. I started investing only this year and so far all the coins I have invested in happen to drop immediately after I get in but it looks up in recent weeks. Do I wait for more stability before giving another try?

She then provided entry and exit points for the securities I primarily focus on. You can look her up online using her name if you need supervision. I basically trade according to her plan and haven't turned around since. With her advice, I earned $640,000 in profit in 2022, and I'm hoping to triple that amount this year.

I already look back on 10 years and wish I could turn back time. I've been watching bitcoin since 2013 and I still don't have any. It started as I didn't know how to buy it, then I couldn't afford it, then I forgot about it, then I couldn't afford it again.. But in the beginning, when I had money and could afford a lot of it, and if I knew how to buy it, I would be a billionaire right now.

I buy MSTR over BTC for this reason. I can DCA without accounting issues and can use it in Retirement accounts. It’s not under scrutiny like actual cryptocurrency. Mr Saylor also keeps it safe and I don’t need to buy hardware to keep it offline. I can use margin and options without issue.
You cant be serious. You cant self custody MSTR. Youre exposed to counter party risk.

I love Michael Saylor. I love the way he explains economics and Bitcoin. I have referred many people to Michael's videos.
He does, however, present lots of facts that the listener must accept as presented.
I did find an erroneous fact in this presentation.
At 8:00 he states "Foreign currencies are collapsing against the dollar"
I submit for consideration the Mexican Peso. In April, 2020 one Dollar bought 25 Mexican Pesos. Today one Dollar buys 17 Mexican Pesos. Since April, 2020 the US Dollar has lost 32% against the Mexican Peso.
So is the Mexican Peso the strongest currency in the world? I would love to hear Michael Saylor reply to this.

A compelling speech, but I submit that "Scarcity" alone is not enough to drive the value of an asset. An asset must have scarcity AND some underlying "Utility" to make it increase in value long-term. (Note: "Store of Value" is not utility - that would be circular reasoning. Store of value is what happens IF something retains or increases value over time.. which requires scarcity AND Utility) Gold, silver and diamonds have some level of scarcity AND some level of utility (pretty to look at, some industrial applications). Oil has scarcity (limited annual production) and utility. Stocks have scarcity (limited shares) and utility (corporate revenue production or at least potential future revenue production). A rare painting is high on scarcity and to the extent that it is pleasant to look at has utility. Government bonds have some level of scarcity and some utility (future revenue). Real estate has utility. Even baseball cards, vintage Barbie dolls, Webkinz, or antique cars have some level of utility (cool to look at) to supplement their scarcity. Stop now and try to think of one thing besides crypto that has investment value with some underlying utility. You can't . And therein lies the problem with bitcoin... because it has no utility (completely unfit as an exchange currency) a better crypto - or 100 or 1000 better cryptos will be invented in the next 10 years that make it obsolete and it will eventually (it may take 50 or 100 years) will go the way of the dinosaur. Even cryptos like ADA that have utility and scarcity - will probably be obsoleted by better cryptos over the next 10 to 20 years. To summarize, Michael Saylor weaves an entrancing narrative, but conveniently doesn't explain why all cryptos move together in lockstep - because they are one big homogenius asset class with zero real scarcity and dubious utility. If you really believe scarce/limited/unique assets with no real functionality can soar in value, then go to your kitchen immediately and start bending all your forks into unique shapes! They'll be unique and limited... not good for anything... and then put them on eBay and wait for the price to soar! (That all being said - yes, in the short term Bitcoin may soar - especially if Blackrock and other money managers convince the SEC to allow them to create ETFs).
You sound like someone from the first world who has access to banks down the street from you, or has the ease of using CashApp/PayPal to send money to domestic friends in a blink, or has access to a brokerage account where you can invest your money in the stock market. Not everyone has such luxuries. Remember this is a global asset. This is a tool that can be used by different people for different needs. For those in the first world, it can be a store of value. For others in the developed world, it can be their medium of exchange and their personal bank account to store and protect money from those who would physically take it or debase their currency.

I disagree with Michael Saylor on only one point at 26:57. Software is not working for free, mining is not free. There is literal work being done to secure your Bitcoin. Nothing is ever free, but our current economic system has exploits in it that guarantees a select few free energy. Bitcoin is equal opportunity for all, it follows natural law.

Be careful with Saylor- he is not a trader, nor does he understand what the Govts have in store for Cryptos. Trade BTC whlie you can but dont hold it.

And he understands what govt. is going to do as well as any random citizen steeped in bitcoin and Austrian economics while understanding Keynesian. Finally, be sure to listen to what any rando says on the internet.

I wish he would have provided his actual bitcoin predictions. He sais that Bitcoin outperforms everything, but he doesn't say how much yield he actually expects over 10/100 years per anno.
He was also missing any notion of other cryptos. What happens if we have 100 Bitcoin chains that can send currency to each other and each one has 21 Million?
How do real asset values change relative to Bitcoin when robotics and AGI take the cost of labor to zero? Would robots be able to turn zero cost labor into unique new asset classes that begin gaining relative to digital currency?
One day, some people are going to look back at this presentation and think, "why didn't I take action?"

These past few days watching my crypto portfolio decline is very disheartening. Holding doesn't really profit much..Any idea on how to earn better in the short run?.
My advice to anyone feeling the heat in this bear market. Just trade long term more than ever.
