@@zootsoot2006 Dodge coin has no maximum supply and every minute a new dodge coin block is mined. Satoshi made Bitcoin´s clock slower. The average block creation time is 10min. Satoshi did this for safety reasons. For an limited supply, he included the halving code. This is great to control the inflation, especially in the long term. So we have a bitcoin production that ends in the future (four year halving code). And at some point lost keys will make bitcoin a little bit deflationary without negative effects.

@@zootsoot2006 It fails to serve a market need not met by Bitcoin. It would be like someone else printing their own dollar bill after the world is already using the dollar.. and expecting it to become the primary currency, when it functions in the same exact way.

Honestly a couple points here nearly brought a tear to my eye.
“Not having to waste human life to defend monetized wealth is worth every watt.” Fucking profound and utterly beautiful. So grateful to live in a time where we have Bitcoin and therefore have a chance.
With this presentation, Mallers rivals Saylor in terms of compelling delivery.

Interesting. Can we see any irony in that statement?
“…hoping Strike comes to the UK.”
Why would it need permission to come to any country ?
If it were just a protocol, if it were decentralized, then you just use it.
There’s no such thing as getting a license, or opening in country X.
Is Bitcoin, or ETH, or Solana available in UK ? Of course - just go ahead and use it. There’s no such question.
Rather, let’s ask : why don’t you just go ahead and use Strike ?
I could answer this one succinctly, but what do you think ?

Or one could just listen to last part starting at 31:46 on to get to the meaty conclusion part where he presses home the difference between PoW and PoS. I've never been interested in ethereum myself because I don't consider a recreation of the fiat system that requires trusting "higher rank" worthwhile.

    1. Have a long term mindset.
    2. Be willing to take risk.
    3. Be careful on money usage, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending.

I absolutely agree with Jack that Bitcoin is fundamentally different than everything else in the crypto space. However that does not mean that investing in Eth or Sol should be admonished. Bitcoin is 100% digital gold (perfect money) But there’s nothing wrong with taking a small percentage of that money and investing in projects with potential like Solana or Ethereum. Yes it’s risky, these “crypto companies” are highly centralized proof of stake networks but so what? If you had invested $1,000 into centralized Facebook 20 years ago you’d be sitting pretty right about now. I firmly believe a few of these alt coins are going to be the new Apples, Facebooks and Googles of the coming crypto revolution.

There is lots of BTC hype & many conferences but very few of the World’s 65 million millionaires seemed inclined to fight over this supposedly scarce commodity. Very, Very slow to catch on! Everyone on my street would be a millionaire if they were mortgage free. I bet I’m the only guy to own more than 1 BTC on the block and I’m 73.
The Value really hasn’t gone up in four years. I think a BTC will be worth $65,000 a year from now.
    It’s peaked.

36:52 Well there you have it folks. Its NOT about attacking from the outside.
The weakness is attacking from the INSIDE, meaning, control the mining power. Mining is getting more and more centralized, aka huge farms.
Just a matter of time that Blackrock et all gets majority stake in them and in theory push any change they want to the network.

"Not having to waste human life to defend monetized wealth is worth every watt" - I have never heard Bitcoin's energy usage defended so eloquently. Yes, it takes a lot of energy - it doesn't kill 150,000 people (the estimated deaths from the Iraqi War, which is a war being fought over oil).

    Why SHA-256?
Security: The algorithm is virtually impossible to reverse-engineer due to its cryptographic design.
Efficiency: Well-optimized for hardware mining, particularly with ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits).
Adoption: Popularized by Bitcoin, it has become a standard for many PoW cryptocurrencies.
SHA-256's dominance in PoW-based cryptocurrencies also means that miners can often switch between these coins if they share similar difficulty levels and rewards.
