- December snowfall allows me to test the 4matic system. Hoped for some roads with a lot of snow coverage, but there was enough to get a good feel for this system.

I really appreciate the videos, I just purchased a 2011 E550 AWD at 75k miles and had the same 2 issues; vibration from trans mount and non functional rotary in the center console. So I imagine its pretty common. Keep it up, I’ll continue to watch!

I haven’t replaced the trans mount yet, do you think it’s harmful to the transmission or vehicle if I wait on this? I was advised to wait for the 2 engine mounts to fail to replace them all together. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks I appreciate you replying
@@tnecniv1 I wouldn't say there is any risk whatsoever, assuming the mount hasn't separated entirely and is failing to locate the transmission. This doesn't seem at all likely considering the design of the mount. Really just comes down to damping vibration. As far as doing all 3 at the same time, it's a fine idea, though it won't save much time since the trans mount is so easily accessible. Wouldn't hurt, though as far as I can tell.

Thanks Clint for another interesting instalment. Based on my experience climbing the steep hills of Mont-St-Hilaire in my 2013 E550 4matic with Gislaved Nordfrost tires (snow tires, mandatory in Quebec during winter), I concur; I observed no loss of grip or evidence of approach of loss of grip. These things are tanks on snow-filled hills as well as on normal roads.
It's interesting to me... under normal circumstances, the cars handling doesn't reflect it's bulky 4200 lb curb weight, but in the snow, that added weight pays dividends.

It’s funny that you made this video because I’m taking my 2011 E550 4matic on her first road trip from Georgia to Maryland for the holidays and from what I’m hearing, the whole DMV Area is expecting snow ❄️ so this video helped me out in a major way 👌🏾.

would you buy a 2011 e550 in great shape with 119k miles on it? for 10500
I have 2010 E550 can't be happier I paid 16500 and spent 1500 new hoses and brakes new radiator at 88k and the last two years have been wonderful. I can not think of a better car for under 20k p1 and p2 package it was 78k new.
