There are classes offered by most reputable gun shops all throughout Texas, but there is a more convenient option on the table as well - take the online course. Not every instructor is approved by the state to offer the class, so if you choose this option make sure it is legit. Our class is certified and approved by the TX Department of Public safety and has helped numerous people get their license. I would definitely recommend looking into the Black Panter Party then, which this was created after. It's always good for law abiding Americans to organize and practice safe gun ownership. However, chanting "Black Power" should stop. So police are currently like this: "We don't like to patrol and go into black neighbourhoods because there's a greater chance of being killed there." Police after you've formed your police intimidation patrols: "We only go into black neighbourhoods in armoured cars and assault weapons and stay ready for a shootout." A better plan, call your patrols community patrols whose intention it is to lower the crime rate in the community.

Also I'm not sure how I feel about open carrying long guns in a suburban or urban area. Everyone should be able to open carry pistols but long guns should be saved for the more rural areas. I want all my black friends to buy guns and carry, hell some of them are former bloods and a former crip or have had involvement but you know what? They arent violent people and they got out of that life. They don't have any serious convictions preventing them from owning firearms and they are genuinely good people.

Why is the AR15 barrel so long? Modelled after the M16???
Basically, any rifle with a barrel length less than 16" is considered a " short barreled rifle" and has to have a federal stamp to be legally owned.
