Hello my friends and happy Sunday! So, I'm playing around with songs that have vocals, usually I only use instrumental songs, what do you think? Also...how bout that Mira alarm clock?
Dude the songs are great, some of my favorite music choices of yours. I was gonna ask if you had a name for the band so I could look them up on Spotify.
great choices! making me tear up as usual lol. If only we could have met awesome people like you and John we would be way happier as Canadians living in the US for eight years now. MN nice is not really so nice. Thanks for sharing and inspiring as usual Ryan.
Boy, that’s some Canadian polite tap dancing that John did there and he made some good points and didn’t avoid the essence. Well done. I’m liking this journey!
Yes as an American who has worked in Canada with many Canadian colleagues John wisely answered in a very human fashion - focusing on people's good qualities.
Ryan Van Duzer it’s pretty amazing how many exceptionally good people you have run into over the years of adventuring. And they just keep coming. You are one lucky fellow to know them. Let the adventures never stop.
I see the opportunity John mentions: we, as a nation, may become much more humane and kinder as a result of what we are going though now. The overwhelming majority of people in this country, in every country, really, are good people. Thanks for sharing! :-)
I would like to thank John for saying what he said. We are a long way from healing. Getting away to the wilderness is definitely a plus at this time. I remember the Winter Olympics in 88' were partly held in Canmore, Alberta. Home of John although he must have been a child at that time. Great video to watch. Mira must have some common ancestory with border collies. She is a lovely dog. Don in Florida. Thank you Ryan.
John has great in-sites about America and well thought out. Sounds like all those hours on the bike can help people assemble his ideas and concepts and explain them in simple terms with few words.
Hey Ryan, that was a great interview with John. It's interesting to hear what one of our neighbors to the north sees, hears, and thinks about our current situation. Good stuff buddy.😆 Atb, Tony
Really? I thought he was totally on egg shells biting his tongue. I'm not into the political stuff personally and think it's inappropriate to ask foreigners to comment on our country. Otherwise I dig the content Ryan but I'd stay on topic with cycling. Then again it's your channel. Cheers man looking forward to the upcoming episodes ✌️.
@@andrerichard628 I totally get the "being on egg shells" feeling. As a Canadian with many American friends and relatives, it's always a tough conversation to talk politics and culture. I always try and keep things neutral when my American friends ask me my opinion on political topics because I don't want to overstep my bounds or say something that might be offensive. I never want to talk badly about someone else's country.
Blessed by the amount of be content recently! Ryan you are such an inspiration. You get my out on the road, I just did my longest ever ride at 73 miles and 5.3k feet of elevation over the 5 hours.
Ever since I found your channel about 6 months ago I've been bike commuting and I've biked more miles than I've driven which has been a big change with so many positive overflows. So just wanted to say thanks for being an overall great inspiration. I'm going to be graduating from med school this year and am trying to decide where to go live and practice the next few years in Family Medicine and I'm heaving considering programs in CO, AZ, UT, MT thanks to the exposure I've seen from your content. I really appreciated John’s perspective and honesty about current US events. I hope we can be the leaders that he described. Hey Ryan your videos are absolutely the best I wish they were 2 hours long. You are very inspiring. I had my bike and trailer ready to go I was going to leave the next morning for my very first 5-day bikepacking trip when I woke up the next morning fires broke out in California and cancelled my trip such a bummer but watching you has definitely helped my brain and now I'm ready to rock and continue where I left off and get out the door and do something great. What beautiful footage! Loved the music & everything about this video. ❤🚲 Watching is like an "escape". I did 10 miles on my bike this morning, its still so hot in Florida....I enjoy the cooler scenes.
Ryan that wagon is known as a sheep herders wagon. When I lived in Wyoming back in the early ninties you would see them everwhere. They can be moved to different pastures along with the sheep. This alows the grass to grow back. Some are canvas top and some have hard tops. Loving your videos as always.
great video, capturing small town America, and taking to the locals. THIS is what travel should be like. hopefully more people can get to places like Ovando soon and help to support those small communities.

John is extremely well-spoken. That interview should be titled, "A Canadian's Perspective of Current America" and be presented to Americans in a format which they could understand. He's right, we could be leading the world with moral leadership, but we all know how that went this summer, and still dragging it out.
As a Chinese Canadian who has travelled many time around the Midwest, I’ve felt nothing but warmth and welcome on my motorbike. Don’t watch the news, it’s always highlights the small extremes. Same with negative stereotypes of Mexico.
Sheep herder wagon. The GDMTBR and CDT have put Ovando on the map. I so love John’s keen eye and heart on our American world in 2020 and the near future. OMG. Ryan you can tell you are a Colorado boy from the music this episode.

Another awesome video and great highlight of the positive in people and another inspiring post that makes me want to do pieces of the great divide
I hope you get to do some of it!
Thanks for sharing beautiful Montana. The interviews were so honest. Every video is inspiring. It’s a long shot, but I hope to see you on the Colorado trail in a few weeks. (I think the Divide route follows it for awhile).
We don't ride the Colorado Trail in this one, but that adventure is on the list!

Nice video series Ryan.
Thank you John! So well articulated.
The irony of John talking about hearing all those gunshots while cycling in the woods and the meal they have at The Stray Bullet Cafe. 👌👍🚲
So funny!
haha, didn't put that together ;)
Can't wait to see the next installment! Montana looks really pretty.
Great footage and information, I really like your videos, hope one day I can do it, unfortunately it's a little bit to dangerous here in Mexico to travel by bike, maybe someday, in the meanwhile I'm training to get in shape for my first bike trip.
Take care!

16:42 The Sherriff's Deputy came by and offered them a ride to the state line. I'm sure it was a nice gesture but the first thing I thought of was Rambo meeting Sheriff Teasle in the beginning of First Blood. :)
