Here's the solution for when the handle is stuck and the window opens "diagonally": Solution
1. Pull the window out sideways, as though you've got the handle pointed upwards
2. At this point, the handle isn't upwards, and won't move upwards
3. Look along the edge of the window for a kind of "button" or "lever" that you can press - it should be about half way up
4. Hold this button in and you'll find that the handle now has more movement
5. Move the handle all the way to the top
6. Close the window sideways
7. The window should be fine now
These windows are pretty cool, but this one was broken, stuck between both open settings, it wouldn't close. Here is how I fixed it.
I just had a very similar problem this morning, now thankfully solved! I was cursing this modern window technology and muttering under breath that if I ever get this bloody window to close I'll never open it again! Fortunately after half and hour of jiggling it about and pressing this and pressing that, eventually it closed like it should and the handle became normal again!
Holy shit. I did fix my problem by watching this video but only because watching him turn the handle made me realize I had just been turning it the wrong way this hole time. I’m an idiot.

Diagonal window opening problem fix: The handle is stiff so with the window open, press in the latchbolt to trick the window into thinking it is shut. The handle should now move between 2 positions. Close the window, gently press the loose top bit and move the handle - it seems to correct itself. The key is to depress the latch on the side by the handle - this frees up its movement.

I have at the moment the same problem with blocked handle, but even pressing the latchbolt it remains blocked. It can move up difficult (for tilt position) but when the window is closed cannot move it down.
Any ideas?

Janey Mack! Those Venetian blinds would get on me nerves,clanging and banging every time you want to open or close the window!
If this video didn't help (because of a different model like mine) then you could try moving a little thingy that is sticking out of the bottom left corner of the window from the outside side
it just kinda sticks out but you can move it towards the window but it just bounces back out when you stop holding so you if you know which thing im talking about then you could try holding it down and then turning the handle
idk why but it helped with my window
Thanks Buddy, I think there are so many variations out there that it will always be a combination of poking and rooting. Hopefully this will help people! Time, perseverance and patience seem to be the best remedy here.

What do you do if it is stuck and doesn’t want to open either way ?? Mine stuck between the 2 opening positions and I can’t open it :(
Hi. If you have another window like it look at the little bits that move to see which to nudge. One could be loose in your broken window and may need a nudge up or down with something like a bent coat hanger wire. Take your time. Once it is open check all screws are tight.

It really depends on age, and how much you force, it etc. Maybe watch the video again and think through it.

this happens when you turn the handle while the window is not fully in the frame fix is easy you need to punch one corner of window with your hand while the handle is in the same position as when it happened. fixed mine broken out of the frame window this way.

When the handle is facing upward it opens into the room from the side , and when the handle is in facing the middle of the window , the window pulls open from the top and leaves a little gap while it is still latched at the bottom , but right now it is opening sideways into the room while the bottom right latch isn’t connected, so when I try to close my window the bottom right is the only part sticking it untill I let go of the window and the top bit tilts out... what do I do?

When the handle on 3 o,clock it should be on tilt lock not fully open like yours .
Sounds like your missing a fuhr tilt turn striker bottom tilt keep plate pivot tip safe. From the bottom of window frame.£7.25 you will more than likely see two screw holes where ones missing
I think the reverse trunnion pin from the deltoid bearing plate fell off too?

My only room window is stuck while being open tilted (with the handle up). A piece of wood fell from the top straight to the bottom of the window jamming the window and preventing it to close. Is there a way to remove the window while being open?
why not get the wood out? little screw on a stick? Or a piece of blutac on a stick?
@@bootsowen i do not see it, I tried with some long wire from above..It fell from a top left corner so its somewhere down in the left corner, on that side below the handle..it must have fell vertically like straight down, its few inches long and maybe half an inch thick.
@@bootsowen made it, first tried with two fishing rods from the windows in the building staircase. But just lost two tips of those rods there and made it worse.
What did is a wire just underneath the left corner, following the rubber path of the window down. The wire pulled it up just enough to show it so we nailed it with a hammer and pulled it up.

My handle will not move at alland the window is open I cannot lock it
when the handle is turned halfway, my window tilts open. when the handle is turned all the way up, it should turn open like a door, but i cant turn the handle past halfway. any suggestions?

The handle moves some little studs on the side of the window into some little locking places on the frame. Something is not going into place to allow the window to hinge. I suggest pushing it or pulling it into the frame so that it is tight and try again. If that doesn't work try pushing or pulling it out of the frame and try again. You have to make the little bits that move align. Once you get it open check and see that all of the fittings on the window and frame are lining up. the off one will probably look bashed. Also read all the comments, others have made recommendations. let me know how you get on, good luck..

I can't even turn the handle. I opened the window sideways, but then proceeded to turn the handle up so it would open from above, but I didn't realize I had opened it from the side.... now I can't turn the handle
I think you will have to try and release one of the catches on the side of the window and then get the handle back to where it should be, then close it and begin again.
@@bootsowen I managed to fix it, but thank you for the tip. It was a bit freaky to have a window that wouldn't close on the 23rd floor with wind and rain....
Your video is pointless, you don’t really explain what to do, your camera does not focus for a time so we understand how to fix the issue
