unless i'm misunderstanding it, the idea of getting rid of Ena by forcing her path to stray too close to harmony as she has to bring and maintain order to the situation seems like such a smart and sick way to get rid of an aeon
Jingliu was right, the universe is just a chessboard for the Aeons, and they're playing DnD as the living beings were living their lives. I can't wait for this story to go dark and existential with how much playing god themes these lore has offered us. Thanks for the video and explanation!
Aha doesn't need and want chaos in the universe. As Elation, Aha just wanted something to laugh at. Everything he does is for his own entertainment whether it be lawful or chaotic.
Assuming Terminus works the same as "Finality" normally does in the Honkai, the reason it started the disaster is simple. It was a test. Win and survive or lose and the end comes quicker. If you cannot show that you are worth existing then your time is over. It should be noted that typically Finality isn't an "end" as the name would imply but is more of a fixed cycle that tests existence and over time becomes more devastating, if you lose then You're recycled and life is reset (or occasionally the universe is destroyed and used to make a new one). It's purpose is to find a civilisation that can deny it the end. ...again this is assuming it works the same way as GGZ and HI3 but it'd be weird if they specifically used "The Finality" for something different now.
We probably will have more information on the voracity in this current update. Since in the 1.5 trailer, when you see the train go out of the red mouth thing, it's the exact same mouth that appears in the fables of the stars when they show the voracity.
The recap at the start was actually great! It was a great work, SD is indeed a hard nut to crack, but I wanted to point out a few things in the video: 1. The Aeons use neutral pronouns (They/them, all of them) 2. If I recall correctly, Terminus does not have a set plan, their objective is to reach the start of creation as they travel backwards in time, but some whispers are heard in the present, yet they have no real goal, but they set things in motion because it is like a prophecy that sometimes can cause anguish in people and objects (A Terminus whisper created the fissured cuckoo clock curio). Its not on purpose or conscious. Terminus also does not care for the Universe's demise to come quicker, since they are already there and know when is going to happen and if they can tamper with how quick it comes or not. Probably if they tamper with how quicker the end of everything comes they will tamper with HooH's path and HooH is said to have enough power to erase an Aeon (theory has it its their doing that Idrila and Akivili are no more, alongside Oroboros) 3. Aeons do not interfere on others' paths and duties unless they have something to do with their own path, Terminus gains nothing from getting rid of Ena, it is way more likely that HooH is the one behind undisclosed aeon disappearances/deaths. 4. if Aha indeed wanted a chaotic universe they could have let Voracity and Propagation f' sh*t up and done nothing to prevent it, but in reality Aha was one of the main helpers against the Swarm Disaster because precisely the kind of chaos they brough to the universe was NOT what Aha wanted. You cant have Elation if there's nothing, which would have been the end. Aha always had a choice of letting things happen, but they did not want those things to happen, precisely because they would be left with nothing. 5. The Aeons did not unite by obligation in the war against Tayzzyronth, they did so because the destruction of 2/3 of the universe actually tampered with almost everyone's path, there was no order, memories were getting lost, all that could cause7feel elation was getting killed and the protections had to be strong for civilizations to remain. There is no way to make an aeon do something they dont want to, they are almost omnipotent in their path and thus have no need to do anything else than follow it. 6. Qlipoth did not destroy the Path of Propagation, the path of propagation is actually active and there are swarm nests in several places in the universe, and its also spoken that there is a possibility of Tayzzyronth returning (Or at least Swarm Disaster occuring again). Qlipoth destroyed Tayzzyronth, which means that Path of Propagation remained without a leader, just like path of The Trailblaze due to Akivili's death. An Aeon dying doesnt mean the deth of their path, a path is only eliminated when it gets absorbed by another (Case of Ena and Xipe) (Sorry for the long post but Aeons are my favorite things in the game and I and a few friends have lengthy conversations about lore since everyone knows something different about them lol) Thing is SD is very complicated and the devil's in the details, which is hard since to analyse SD you also need to know about every aeon beforehand, just going off by what Swarm Disaster has to offer wont give the nuance of everything.
I'll add a few more details here. 1. It is unknown so far how much awareness Terminus even has as an entity. They were born at the end of the universe and exist backwards in time, and more importantly, they're asleep and sometimes things they whisper in their sleep can be heard by mortals. In a sense, the future in HSR is already predetermined in a way, the whispers mortals hear are prophecies to them, but to Terminus those things have already happened. Basically, our future is their past. 2. Herta mentions that all aeons do not have free will and can think and act only within their path. Unless one path directly endangers or obstructs another, their respective aeons would have no reason to even interact, much less take action against each other. 3. Following that, Aha would have no reason to oppose Ena in any way since Elation cannot break the Order. Aha also states earlier in base SU that they love chaos, but chaos does not equal complete destruction. Elation is about finding fun everywhere, and you cannot have fun if everything is dead. 4. Regarding Ena and Xipe, orchestrating their merging would be possible perhaps only for HooH if it is indeed in their power. One aeon can absorb another only when one of the paths is broader and includes the other. The definition of Harmony includes order, so the moment Xipe ascended, Ena's fate was sealed, they would be absorbed in any case, no matter the circumstances. Now whether it happens instantly or is a gradual process is unknown, but it cannot last more than one human lifetime. 5. The only way for a Path to disappear is to be incorporated into a broader one. One of SU curious implies that it causes the followers of the absorbed path a lot of harm, including depression and the loss of will to live as they have to adjust to their path suddenly getting an upgrade.
Don't know if this is any accurate, but if the universe of Honkai Star Rail is in anyway connected or exists in a similar fashion to the universe of Honkai Impact 3rd, which the two are confirmed to coexist, at least, because of the appearance of Welt Yang in Star Rail, thenTerminus would work in the same way as "The Finality" in Honkai Impact 3rd, their goal would be to find an existence capable of keeping them company. In HI3rd, there exists a "Cocoon of Finality", a godly existence born from the assimilation of a race of people and their home planet, travels the universe to look for such a thing. It does so by creating Herrchers, which would be similar to the emanators of Finality, to basically try and destroy the world targeting planets to planets, if the planet stands and survives the continuous onslaught, it would qualify, this is called "Transcending the Finality" or "Embrace", else the Cocoon "resets" the planet to a past state and tries again with a different cycle. The Finality also holds the authority over time itself, so I feel it's very similar to Terminus in a way. I'm not very sure about it since Terminus' goal would interfere with Nanook's whose goal is to destroy existence itself
@goofsphere1 it does matter because if you are doing a deep dive into some characters, having the correct pronouns for the character is crucial because it shows you have, indeed, consumed the content of the character in the way its supposed to. In the entirety of the Simulated Universe the Aeons are treated with neutral pronouns and in the original chinese they use pronouns who are specific to deities which is a form of neutral pronoun. Having them incorrectly in a video that is going to be watched and consumed by many who may not know or may not have read on their own because the lore can be quite confusing at times would be as if someone was doing a deep dive on Kafka and called her Patricia the whole time.
This story has been pretty tame for a Honkai story so far. If Impact 3rd is any indication as to how deep lore can go, we are in for a hell of a ride with Star Rail
Nah aeons above good and bad xipe is not evil nor nanook it how they exist to bring what they exist for destruction and harmony you see how yaoshi is the kindest aeon but if you look in their lore it sounds evil.
Maybe Ena’s and Qlipoth’s deal had something to do with Oroboros disappearance? In the data bank it says that Oroboros is an Aeon and a Leviathan at the same time and since Qlipoth’s whole deal is to build that wall to defend against leviathans, it could mean that they did something to Oroboros. Perhaps sealing them off somewhere.
I will probably make something about the Genius Society after we get more info on Ruan Mei. Sadly the space station itself doesn't have that much lore, apart from being a reseach facility, but if I find out something interesting about the curio's or the characters, ill make something asap when its relevant
unless i'm misunderstanding it, the idea of getting rid of Ena by forcing her path to stray too close to harmony as she has to bring and maintain order to the situation seems like such a smart and sick way to get rid of an aeon
Yes, that is exactly what I meant! Getting rid of Ena that way is basically check mate, there is no way for her to prevent being absorbed.
Jingliu was right, the universe is just a chessboard for the Aeons, and they're playing DnD as the living beings were living their lives. I can't wait for this story to go dark and existential with how much playing god themes these lore has offered us. Thanks for the video and explanation!
Chessboard😂
I knew it. The Aeons are a group of Stellaris Players😂😂
The Aeons feel very much like "The Old Ones" from Lovecraft
i am pretty sure they are inspired from Lovecraft as well
Aha doesn't need and want chaos in the universe. As Elation, Aha just wanted something to laugh at. Everything he does is for his own entertainment whether it be lawful or chaotic.

so like... the Reapers from Mass Effect only you dont need Commander Shepherd to win?
In HSR finality doesn't decide whether you stay or not, HooH the aeon of equilibrium does. If you're disrupting balance you'll be gone
This should get more attention. You're doing God's work by summarizing what we players usually just skip over.
We probably will have more information on the voracity in this current update. Since in the 1.5 trailer, when you see the train go out of the red mouth thing, it's the exact same mouth that appears in the fables of the stars when they show the voracity.
1:14 YEAH i guess visas just travelled from his lore in yugioh into hsr lore but ended up in swarm disaster
Going through the Trailblaze secrets was confusing for me. This really cleared things up! Love the appropriate use of Visas as a stand-in.
1:16 God dammit Visas! You created essentially a zombie apocalypse on a universal scale.

Im still not over how they shafted quantum physics in hi3 like jargon and stuffs.
Congratulations on the other hand, you "know" and realize facts that haters can't see Aeons>>>>>>>>>>>Fodder Impact 3d👍
Love to see Visas Starfrost in Star Rail.
Now hear me out: Xipe will be a villain later on
Nah aeons above good and bad xipe is not evil nor nanook it how they exist to bring what they exist for destruction and harmony you see how yaoshi is the kindest aeon but if you look in their lore it sounds evil.
Subscribed so fast, I need more starrail lore!!!!❤ keep it up🎉🎉🎉

Is that Visas Starfrost in my Honkai Star Rail lore video
1:44 doesn't this looks like trailblazer ticket. I mean astral express ticket. we saw this on astral express crew's outfits.
THIS IS NOT VISAS STARFROST
Given that Terminus is going backwards in time, the Swarm Disaster already happened from their point of view, so they had to kick it off.
let's goo. voiced video
Lovely video! Would be great if you could continue to cover SU lore.
I hate tyranids and the Hive mind.
They multiply quicker than I want.
He use visas starfrost as the original creator a yugioh card
Visas Starfrost
VISAS STARFROST
When Herta Space Station lore btw?
I will probably make something about the Genius Society after we get more info on Ruan Mei. 💙💙💙💙
is that visas starfrost at the beginning
Base plot was a bit similar to enders game.
Let's go
