They had the Prime PM 920 horns as a majority of Milwaukee Road locomotives had them. For years i believed they were Leslie's but thanks to several youtube studies i learned that's not the case. They sound similar though. They get very distinctive when they get out of tune.
I noticed some of the Metra F40C's still have the 3 chime horns on them. That was probably from when the F40C's were used for the Milwaukee Road, Then they were Passed on to the RTA in 1982 after Milwaukee road's Bankruptcy, and then were eventually Put onto the Metra's Roster. I know they do NOT exist on the Roster today, But they were great locomotives to see pulling a Commuter train in and out of Chicago.
A true railfan will film trains during a snow storm.
Yep agreed. Filming in the snow does get your hands pretty cold zooming in and out
It's been so long since I've seen snow that I forgot winter used to look like that! I could only imagine how cold it was.
This made my day! Thanks for sharing!
That’s really cool!! I love that
This is awesome man, wish I had a time machine because that would be AMAZING haha
4:57 Holy shit, you caught 2 different companies' cab cars simultaneously in operation.
🤔
1:14 Leslie horn on an f40c?

That's the Milwaukee District lines coming from Chicago Union Station from North Concourse
5:18 I didn’t know that Amtrak Metroliner cab was running in Illinois
Are we not going to talk about how the Amtrak cab car’s ditch lights randomly activated?
Were the trains tooting at you?
My god, how Canal St has changed in almost 30 years
Was canal Street a one way Street in the 1900s
I think so, but am not 100% sure.
I made a song of the crossing in my head!
Well done!
Snow in chicago
Don't remind me.
I lived in Chicago then AZ and now Minn. When I lived in AZ I really missed the snow ❄. Thanks for posting it. Have a great day everyone.
Lots of Head end power & mechanical bell action. Not like today’s garbage.
Agreed
