I feel like this Em is the best he’s ever been. He still sprinkles in his old styles but with a higher level of wordplay and rhyme schemes, not to mention him rapping on new style beats as well. This man is just different

Yeah, I know it’s all opinion and a lot of people disagree as far as liking this style better, but he’s obviously as musically intelligent as ever in his life. His analytic knowledge has grown over the years with that crazy work ethic. Liking the style is debatable, but the fact that he is as genius ever is less so.

Side B is Em showing the rap game just how skilled he really is. He really took offence to Snoops statements that he wasn't a top-10 rapper and he's just "The great white hype". So Em went balls-out on side b. The metaphors, the word play, these levels of mastery have never been achieved by anyone until side b dropped.

This is actually a reason why I dont like Ems recent work in the past decade..his early work felt more raw with emotion and schemes thrown into it that people could relate to. Now hes trying too hard to ryhme every lil thing, bend words that dont ryhme, and speed flow even when it's not necessary,
While yes technical,it becomes predictable with his bars..doesnt help his hooks and production/beats are hard to listen to as well.

When he decided to go the more technical, angry route in Kamikaze, y'all still had issues with it.
Even on Kamikaze, Stepping stone had raw emotion. And on the recent project, we had Leaving Heaven, Darkness with great messages, storytelling, all without compromising on doubles and triples. That's the pinnacle of great artistry imo.

Depends on what aspect of the music you look at. When it comes to bars, yes definitely. He’s on another level with it, this doesn’t even belong on a beat, this is some URL type battle league stuff. When it comes to actuall song structure, nah. But since I love clever wordplay so much I never get sick of it. It’s also a special feeling when you catch something in a song later, it’s content and replay value in itself.

It blew my mind cause at the end when the scratching starts I noticed nas voice... looked it up and it was him, Em sampled it from ill matic...also, in the beginning of the song it had such a familiar sound and it kept bugging me.... it was from little Wayne and Em drop the world... when Wayne says the line book of rhyme... Em is so detailed man, this track is a masterpiece
You can tell Em is dedicated to this rap shit waay more than anyone else. His brain is obviously programmed to connect and break down words, meanings, similes, metaphors etc all day long. This shit doesn’t just happen and it’s evident, no one just sits down and writes this stuff on the spot, not even Em. It’s dope that Hov can come up with verses and songs in his head and go record it right there but this shit is a different craft, a full time job literally.

I really wish he had a few rap features on this - in addition to Dre - but I'm really falling in love with this project. Not crazy about a few of the hooks but the verses are so solid. I like that this album doesn't sound as commercial/mainstream as Side A. Ironically, that's why other people aren't enjoying it.

Props for recognising current Em as the most technical Em. Musically his earlier work is arguably better, but technically, he's on another level now. He packs in so many multis and delivers with the widest range of flows he's had.
He already showed us he can make classics, bring Dre back to relevance, and open up new lanes in the game numerous times. Now he's just putting distance between himself and everyone else who ever touched a mic.
