As someone who got a chronic illness from chronic stress, please take care of yourself. Sleep, hydrate, make pauses

  • @who-hoo-man

Kinda ironic how its the doctors that tell you to get proper sleep that miss out on it, its even sadder that many of them don't do it by choice because realistically which 25 y/o would want to spend years on 5 hours of sleep per day

  • @anithesiberian

I can relate, sometimes friends are the only thing preserving your sanity

  • @leyvaye

    This is high key depressing

  • @colorful.ika.

That is not a low, that is your body telling you “you need rest and not just sleep”

  • @YasiMLooming

I can't wait till we stop glorifying busy-ness. You can be insanely successful and get 8hrs of sleep every night. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wasting a lot of time.

  • @lucabonilla06

this is unhealthy. you seem like a very good and hard working person which is admirable, but this is dangerous. this level of sleep deprivation isn’t good. please look after yourself. wishing you the best.

  • @076_aisyaalifiaputri5

this video triggers me because this was me last semester. sleep deprived, tired, and stressed. sadly, this also gonna be me next semester which will start in february 😭 not ready for it, even thinking about it terrifies me

  • @sunsetcola

dang this is so depressing but hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel keep up the hard work

  • @FranticForkRepellent

I don't want to be smart anymore.

As a US med student at a prestigious program, now halfway through my third year, I’ll just share a little unsolicited advice. Make sure to take time for yourself and enjoy your undergraduate experience. Kudos to you for putting in all this work in extracurriculars and resumé building; it’s clear that you’re highly motivated. I will say, though, that a career in medicine is a LONG road and you can only go 100mph for so long before burning out.

Me: worrying about that one Calc exam 💀

It may be easier said than done, but please prioritize your overall health (physical, mental, and emotional). If you are not careful, the load of college and trying to be on top of things chains you. I remember during undergrad and graduate school, I developed gastritis because I was not eating well. I would only get 3 hours of sleep per night. My mental health sank. I had panic attacks to the point I thought I was experiencing a heart attack. I went to the clinic, and they had to send me to the hospital.

  • @setsurarara

I legit developed depression and anxiety during my time in medical school and I'm still recovering from that. Wishing you all the best

I wanted to say thank you for what you do. I’ve been hospitalized 7 times since I was 25. And I only met one nurse who was rude and had an attitude about everything and she was like this with everyone. But hospitalized 7 times and some of those times for over a week, that’s a lot of nurses, and you guys all remain so calm, and are the sweetest people on earth, idk how you guys do it, even with patients giving you a bad time. I’ve never said the words thank you so much in my life, but in the hospital. I love you all and thank you guys for taking care of us sick people, who need you there for us this goes to the doctors also.

  • @urkittenmee

bless you. i dropped out of med school my first year, really living through people like you

  • @Zoe-no1sg

i worked 3 jobs my first two years of a biomedical engineering undergrad then decided to pick up biochem during my second year even tho i had never done chem before. i was so tired i was seeing spots, couldn’t concentrate and once passed out on a train. best thing i did was cut back and focus on only 1-2 jobs. then take summer and winter subjects so i could perform well in uni without burning out. u don’t have to give everything up but SPACE IT OUT. because you can (and probs will) get physically sick and that WILL push you behind. the people i’ve met who perform the best are smart with their study. if you need to sleep then sleep, because when you’re that tired you won’t remember it anyway and it’s useless work. u might be fine now… but last year undergrad is when that burnout will start to hit HARD.

This reminds me of my junior/senior years in high school. It was just go go go no breaks gotta keep up with homework, Extracurriculars, work, internship, personal projects, etc. It was absolutely draining. I’m halfway through the first year of college and I no longer stress myself out like that. It’s not worth it. I can still achieve success leading a slower life

Every hardship is building you to be who you are and who you are becoming. Plus, when you look back at all of this sad meal or a sad day you could be surprised that these were also beautiful days and were not that bad after all. To me they look beautiful and you are pioneering you life to be yours. I do wish you to take care of yourself and stay hydrated and have some healthy snacks with you on you throughout the day. Cheer up! You can do this!
