Mommy & Baby almost Die but then This Happened (Part 1)

- After my wife came down with a temperature and contractions one afternoon we got with her O.B. And when they checked her she was dilated and feverish.
They moved quickly and her contractions progressed. They diagnosed with an infection and moved swiftly to get her fluids and antibiotics.
We didn’t have a lot of time, they asked if we wanted to go through with birthing our daughter of just “life care” which meant being her into the world and have a moment with her until she stops breathing and dies.
We had our faith to rely on and said “Only God knows who she is and we won’t take that fight from her”.
With Fear, concern, anxiety and peace we decide on an emergency C- section.
They gave a 50% chance of survival because that day she went from 22 weeks 6 days to 23 weeks 0 days developed. Meaning she had 4 months to go. My wife was due in April, this was the first 2 weeks of December.
We had the operation, my wife begins to recover and our baby girl is off to the NicU.
The next 3 days would be like a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from.
My wife is discharged for processing and showing no signs of illness of infection.
That night she spikes a 103 Temp, she said “I feel like I’m about to faint” - We get in the car and rush to the hospital, called the nurses and they said get her back here!!
We got in and they immediately had about 5-7 people come into the room, and I didn’t know this at the time but they called a code sepsis because of her symptoms. She was so dehydrated that they had to get a sonogram to find a vein to enter the fluids.
They drew labs and this was on a Thursday night.
By Saturday they come Back with immense concern as a positive reading for bacteria infection in the blood. This specific one was the hardest one to fight because of the outer cell wall (after becoming a student on blood infections) I found that it was an uphill battle.
It was elevated to The infectious disease Dr. who took over.
From here it gets wild because the Dr. said from her chart she thought my wife would be bed sick and not communicating but in person my wife was up and taking and in a better visible state so she said maybe not 6 weeks of antibiotics maybe just 4 weeks.

Our God is so good. My hubby has died twice (tractor trailer rollover accident and sepsis) and is on oxygen 24-7 due to Covid damaging his lungs but God's not done with him yet or this beautiful couple.
