I put sooooo many hours into this game from like 2005-2007. It was my first major introduction to most of the SNK characters. The gripes I have about this game are so minimal. It's my second favorite fighter after SSF2:TNC [Genesis].
Hold on. The genesis version of SSF2?...What? Why that version?
@@WishIWasClever The 6-button controller is one great reason (that D-pad is PERFECT for hadoukens and shoryukens) but the higher clock speed of the Genesis CPU means the gameplay isn't as sluggish. Feels more responsive. I remember getting the SNES version much later expecting it to be better and I was so annoyed trying to play it. My friends in the form thought it was funny that I was so irritated with it. The music is more thoroughly done on SNES but the sound effects are muffled on SNES. I like the sound effects on Genesis and I think the music is passable. But yeah don't let the fancy colors and reputation of the SNES fool you... When it comes to shooters and fighters, Genesis can often have the edge. I think SF2 Turbo on SNES is even with SF2SCE on Genesis though.
Justin's execution is so on point. That C-Iori is so much fun to watch.
I mean, I get the anti-Discord argument but when a guy wants to play a certain game so bad, he gotta do what he gotta do.

I think I have this game sealed in my garage somewhere and marvel vs capcom 2 for ps2….I probably would never open it to be honest or play it ever. I just like watching it. Good stuff wong man.
This is the only game approved by the Kyoto's Enmachi's Play Land King game center deer. He was always near, watching the epic clashes between "machitos" without blinking. Those who were in that game center around 2001 will understand 😄.

I love it. When I was young, I couldn´t play it that much, and I didn´t like it that much. Well, I downloaded it again a few years ago, and I play it every now and then. I know the game is unbalanced AF, but I don´t care, it´s fun.
Nah, the game is balanced.... you just need to know how to fit which Groove with which Which char - N Groove KING, VICE and IORI... always fast and playable. C Groove EAGLE, control and defence.... etc etc -
CvS2 has to be Top 10 fighting games ever made to date forsure at least imo, Tekken 7 and Samurai Shodown is also included in there somewhere

@@ToruKurosawa Naw KOF 13 is the hand drawn sprite based one. SNK made a fully hand drawn KOF and it costed them a fortune, they nearly went bankrupt.

Characrer portraits depend if you choose capcom or snk style
Nulldcbear, don't use Fightcade for CVS2, that flycast netcode is dogshit. All tutorials are outdated though, so I can't really point you in the direction of any sort of resources.

Cvs2 is definitely a justin wong type of fighting game. Footsie-based and slow. The only thing that could be improved is if the tech in the game was easier; all the links and roll cancels are not easy for a beginner to learn.
Fighting ex layer is definitely really good.

Help an old European dude understand American slang. What does OD mean and how is it used? Is is it overdose? In that case what does “Iori is OD” mean? The character is used to death? If I recall correctly Iori wasn’t used that much back when CvS2 was “the popular” fighting game along side 3S.

Hey this might be a bit late but currently you can have net play on PC with Fightcade 2 and NullDC BEAR.
Both have rollback netcode emulators while BEAR also has NullDC with good delay based netcode and 100% accurate input readings from your device.

Yes!!! Play Fightning Ex Layer. Love that game!!! And it´s even better now with rollback netcode! As I speak, it´s dirt cheap now, 10 bucks on PSN and Steam.

So in this game, you can choose to play any team of three, and you get to choose a "Groove".
Each groove gives you a specific set of mechanics and a way to spend meter based on a game in the company's repertoire.
So C, A, P are the Capcom grooves. C-groove is most like Alpha 2, A-groove is like Alpha 3 and P-groove is like third strike. C-groove giving you a three-tiered super meter, air blocking, and rolls. A-groove has rolls and custom combos. P-groove gives you parries.
S, N, K are the SNK grooves, go figure. Short hops are a big thing here. S is like earlier KoF games with spot dodge, desperation supers and meter charge. N-Groove is like other KoF games with a tiered meter and a super mode. K-groove is like Samurai Shodown 2 crossed with Garou; it has a meter based on taking damage and instant blocking.
I might be somewhat off with some of this, but it's the basics of grooves in this game. Which groove you play affects the way you approach the game really heavily, so picking one that you like is important.

@@Hunt9-qb1if As someone who is now a high-ish level player in 3s, I disagree that it is overrated but I do agree that many will mindlessly praise the game without having ever touched it. The problem I find with 3s is that people complain about the game and make points about how "parry messes up the entire dichotomy of fireballs and dp!" or whatever when if you were sink your teeth into the game even mildly deeper than the surface you'd find that those complaints just don't matter or don't hold up.

"Why do I need a third party software to find people?" The same reason you need a 3rd party software to play 3rd strike with roll back netcode even though you paid for the game. That's niche fighters fam, you already know.
He knows, but when modern fighters are being developed by large companies and cost money, quality of life should be a prime focus, only next to gameplay and such.
