I had a lot of fun playing some Marvel vs Capcom 2 against the GOAT himself, Justin Wong! We each made some pretty interesting teams using this rules restriction, and there were some pretty busted combos we came up with! hope you enjoy!

The ratio system is a breath of fresh air for this game tbh. Bar a mod, this would make the game much more varied and fun to watch
I agree. Fighting games are more interesting when we get to see more of the cast. Hell, the reason I hung up my fighting game belt was because of this game and that no one used anything else.

@@sammorin254 Back at basically the games peak of popularity. I took a local tournament with my team and everyone side me was using sent, mag, doom. Lost my taste for the comp scene since then.

the ratio teams make this game SO much more fun to watch. as someone who doesnt play mvc2 i can actually follow the action in these matches, and i love getting to see more variety of characters.

Saw this match on Justin’s page. Didn’t know he was playing you! Now I can see this from a different perspective.
I love this. The best thing about mvc2 (and cvs2) are it’s rosters and I love seeing everyone get some love. I honestly wish that more games would follow the format cvs1 had in place. Imagine if dbfz had ui goku/Z broly had a higher ratio? We wouldn’t see them as much! Plus I feel it’d make sense in the context of the universe and power levels (i.e. low ratio krillin vs higher bluku)

You should make some videos where you play some obscure fighting game with the other guys that are doing the tournament like Justin! Could be fun to see them interact with each other and that would truly help the community not get our reputation back! Because we are the "kyles" of the gaming community hahaha

I'd never heard of the ratio idea with this game before I watch this set and honestly if you've played it for a very long time like some of us have it's not a bad idea for when you're sitting around playing with your friends and you're all pretty good

Marrow is kind of like Anakaris or Omega Red in the "is she trash or not" regard. There's just something about her where you can see that there's something there, but you just can't make it work. Cue Justin making a video where he shows how I've been right about Marrow or Omega red these past twenty years. ;p

This is still my favourite MvC game in the series. :) Though I liked it better when Roll was -1 points instead of 0 because that raised the question of whether it's worth taking Roll to get an 8 point team. In the end no one picked Roll anyway so it didn't matter but it was an interesting question.

Also! When you were looking for the best 1-pointer for your Doom/Hulk combo, consider this - you were rocking the predictions with Iceman, and his assist does 7 points of chip on block alone and snuffs other assists/supers. I love playing Hulk/Iceman and that would open up another 2-point character and way more options. I know Iceman doesn't have Doom's maneuverability or air game but the Hulk rushdowns and DHCs are just plain Fun (and brutal).

Love how you adjusted to the sabertooth smothering your Doom assist by calling hulk instead it really b the lil things that change everything in a tag fighting game
I love this idea and system I've been saying for a while id love to see fighters have this aswell as a limit to how many gokus you could have on your team just for the sake of variety

I've said it before and I will keep saying it - if you could start with Dark Sakura the way you could do alternate characters in the previous game, she would be one of the very best. I can't count the number of times I have shadow dashed through a Cable super and punched him in the butt or beamed peoples' assists to death on the fly.
Such gd matches GGs... Justin is an absolute God.

where can I play this?
In one of your videos I bitched about how you never roll out.... Now you roll.... But you never use push either. In stuff like Guiles sonic boom super. You push all 3 punch buttons to shove out, (according to Google 2 buttons a push block) so you don't eat all that chip. You can sometimes shove in air combos that might drop, fall and super jump up under into air combos. Use push. You can push stuff like sonson's big staff your. Anything that drops you, like T Bonne's drill thing. You can do a swap block, not a snap back, but like a 'get off my nuts swap to basically a raw tag'
I feel like this point system should be a real thing. Might encourage people to grow some actual skill and strategies instead of brainlessly using the most broken characters
