I’m 30, and I’m still watching the OC. It feels awesome to know there’s many many other people who still rock with the OC! And Rooney of course. (And Luke :P)
Never saw the OC. I teach high school and was raised on punk. One of my students played this for me. That said, what a perfect pop song. Those that deny it are posing. This is a great rock tune.
The band that got me into indie rock n roll and vintage clothing back when I was in final year in high school 2004! whoa 10 years has gone so fast. Those girls in the video are all probably moms now. How I miss high school so much. Good songs, good friends back then. Shout out to all the teens of year 2003 - 2004 !!
Awesome! Guess you are in the last months of being 20's or already 30 years old like me. And my vintage clothes phase was long gone too. Time flies! Oh well at least we got Rooney during out teenage years :)
Alberto Trejo The OC introduced us a lot of great indie bands back then. While now younger generations are exposed to mainstream crap song covers by the the Glee show. Thank god Glee has ended
Josh Schwartz was so cool because he knew all the cool songs before anybody else. He said that he basically just chose songs from his own iPod. But Robert schwartman was actually on Melinda Clarke and Rachel Bilson’s OC rewatch podcast
@@mattygeno I was 10 when GG aired in '07 and it _definitely_ influenced and introduced me to so many amazing artists! My parents disapproved of me watching GG at such a young age bc of all the scenes involving sex and drugs lmao, but it was THE best decision 10 yr old me made.
I met one of my best friends in the world at a Rooney concert (at a water park) 17 years ago - we were the only two Black people at this show and it only cost $1.97 lol. Every once in a while we bring up this song and the nostalgia hits hard.
How upbeat the tune is. You'd never assume it's about kicking a horrible heroin addiction. Speaking from experience myself I'd say the person who wrote these lyrics is battling with the same demons I once was myself.hope all is well and you beat that badtard. Great song btw
just discovered this band thanks to a binge-watching session of the O.C. drunk Luke is a gift. yes i am just discovering this in 2016, yes i also just discovered The O.C. t show, yes i have been living under a rock
Yes you missed out so much, especially the Rooney and indie rock hype back then lol. Hardly kids nowadays know who Rooney are. But how old are you.. Because if you are under 20 it is understandable. Most of the teens who grew up watching The O.C are all now in mid-20s to early 30s. What a nostalgic era...
Saw this group once live while I was in college, a time where i was exploring a lot of my musical interests. I kinda consider them the cars of the early 2000s, a revival of 80s power pop.
I also remember back when teenick was the N and they would play the hottest music videos in between shows and thats where I first heard/watched this song/video while I waited for another episode of Degrassi (back when it was good). I was so hooked on this song.
I love the Jam and the Damned and Beatles and Who. I am 56 and I was already to hate this song. I can't. It's so damn good. Most importantly, THEY MEAN IT. I can spot fakers a mile away. These boys love music and this song reflects their heart and power. Just great rock.
I must have been living under a rock having just heard this awesome song. This generation's The Clash...just awesome! Who knew The Princess Diaries kid has this in him?
I saw them when I was three years old, when my dad loved them and going to concerts to he brought me along. I could have met Robert and the band but I was so scared because you know 3 year olds. So ever since that concert little toddler me was OBSESSED with Rooney and I loved them all throughout my childhood. Like I'd watch their concerts on tape and everything. So I never got to meet them. But this year, they did a concert in my city and I went again with my dad and we saw them for the first time in 13 years! I met Robert afterwords and he loved the story. He's still as handsome as ever (:
I've forgotten what it feels like to feel normal To be normal I can tell you that I know what it feels like. But don't worry if you're not normal for people. They are going to be other creatures that will love you and care for you just the way you are. 🐕🦺🐱🐒🦓🐑
I have the DVD of their concert movie for Spit & Sweat! Oh man, I was remembering all the bands I used to listen to in the beginning of 2000. I miss all this music, I'm gonna have to go and look through all my stuff to find them and play them.
The O.C. is an American teen drama television series that originally aired on the Fox television network in the United States from August 5, 2003, to February 22, 2007, running a total of four seasons.
there should have been some like huge band performance in the princess diaries as an extra or something haha. but i am grateful for the little bit of "blueside" in the garage scene
It's impossible to listen to this song without picturing Luke screaming 'ROOOOONNNNEEYYYYYYY!!!!'
Hahahahahaha
I love you.
Yes!!!
Just literally rewatched it lol
Are you talking about the O.C. ? Lol, was that the blonde haired deuchebag? Am I on point here, or totally off?
I’m 30, and I’m still watching the OC. It feels awesome to know there’s many many other people who still rock with the OC!

Oh the OC. So much memories. xD
The OC creators made a bunch of kids into really good music that we otherwise wouldn’t have been. Thanks Josh and Stephanie!
“Which one is Rooney?” 😂
All of them🤣
They were popular way before the o.c. as they were in the princess diaries and the singer had a decent sized part in the movie.
Seth: “Hey, man! You know who sings this song?!”
Luke: “ROONEY! WHOO HOO!”
Seth: (under his breath) We should keep it that way” 😆😂

The intro is pretty nice. Love the chorus too.
Prime example of 2000's pop-rock.
The OC! Now I'm watching Gossip Girl, this producer puts good music on his series.
Alberto Trejo
The OC introduced us a lot of great indie bands back then. While now younger

The OC and Gossip Girl MADE popculture, while other shows try to mimic it. Brilliant. I still miss my old friends!

This era of alternative rock was the greatest …

That’s insane it only costed almost 2 bucks! That’s awesome y’all are still friends! It’s hard keeping friends once you get older.. sadly :/

the intro is so dreamy

I wish I was 13 in 2003 again scraping up change to go to music world and buy this cd after listening to it on the store headphones 🎧
