You are amazing. Young, beautiful, clearly extremely bright and a gifted speaker.Your enthusiasm for neuroscience and genetic research is infectious and motivational and should be sent to all high schools and colleges. You make neuroscience and genetic research sound so exciting and approachable that perhaps those that may not have considered this as a possibility, will reconsider.
I will never forget the summer day in England, when we had finished the first complete sequentation of the human genome. The next morning, all I could find in the canteen was human flesh. It was terrible.
Really impressive and beautiful experiences ! The whole point of lighting up students about what they could be passionate for is a key of tomorrow's educational system. You make yourself an awesome example of these ideas worth spreading and i wish you to go as far as you'll ever want to go in your future :)
Wow! Young lady, this is a beautiful presentation. There is so much information and you relate so many projects that it can probably be split in several talks. At the same time you keep the public engaged with your smile and bubbly personality. I see a very bright future for you! One request please?! Could you share the website for your trip across the nation? Thank you! Pablo.
cute! 100,000,000 (trillion)(with a "T") connection/dots... [just wondering... how big of a wall would that cover with regular pixels?] 11:26 "cookies" - genius! I think I looked into this game - is it another one connected to D.A.R.P.A., like Fold-It? (I believe decided-against-it for a similar reason.)
I think I need to volunteer for this program. Anybody reading this, knows how to connect me?. Those of you who know me, know I do not have the sense of smell. I was either born w/o it or lost it early in childhood. Either way, I have no memory of smell. It's all air to me. Imagine my reaction when I heard this. "We have over 1000 different olfactory receptors in our brain. It's also part of the limbic system. This regulates our emotions. Which is right beside our hippocampus, which is involved in learning and memory. This is why when you smell something, you get really vivid memories flying back at us".
I lost mine a few years ago. Some smells/odors are different now (mint smells like manure to me). I had an MRI, but they couldn't find anything wrong with me, so I live with it. It impacts cooking in a negative way, and some of my tastes are "off". This TEDtalk was amazing, and I fixated on the same quote as you, and was wondering if I still have some functioning receptors, but most are gone. Did you ever get connected?

She's very keen and clever, and what a great idea. Not to mention, great presenting skills too.
