    Was a little challenging for me without that curved tool because I can't draw well either, but my first attempt is most definitely wearable in public! Great tutorial.

    Good video, I did one of these a few months ago, cut out from a T/shirt - I needed to adjust the shoulder seam slightly but otherwise it was fine.

    Your tee is so nice and you make it look so easy! I'm going to try it. I bought a bias binding foot like you recommended but I can't seem to find a video where you actually used it. Please let me know where I can see it in use.

    • @Penguinandpear
      @Penguinandpear  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t done a video showing how to use it, there’s lots on TH-cam though. It’s difficult for me to show that as I have hand tremors. It’s very straight forward though.

      @@Penguinandpear Sorry, I'm a newbie when it comes to sewing clothing. Do you use it for neckbands and arm bands?

    • @Penguinandpear
      @Penguinandpear  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suzannewalker2090 the bias binding foot is only used when you want bias binding to be shown on the edge as it wraps the binding around the edge and sews in one. If you want the binding to be hidden then you’d sew without it.

    Hi there. How did you adjust your sleeve? You said it was too long. I followed Alisa's video on drafting an oversize sweater and the sleeves are wonky. So I tried another way, failed again. If you could show us how you get your shape to fit the arm hole I would really appreciate it. I like your way of doing things. I have the same measurements as you and you know how to fit us curvy girls. Luv your channel

    • @Penguinandpear
      @Penguinandpear  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. All I did was trace the seamlines. Then like I said I walked the seams together. You just line the two seams up together to see if they’re the same length. When it’s a curve such as the arm hole then go around the length of the curve like you see me doing. Honestly my sleeve head was slightly big so I just took a bit off the end. This is not technically right but it worked. Also take into account the fabric you’re using. If it’s stretchy you can get away with it not being exact but if woven you’ll need your sleeve head to be bigger as it needs ease. But this process I showed is really for jersey as I showed it.

      Btw I forgot to mention Alisas videos are very good. I watch them too but it may have been the fabric you used. There could be many reasons why it didn’t work. It is certainly helpful though to have someone the same size and shape as you

    Thank you! I have my mother's old Singer that I used 15 years ago to make curtains and throw pillow cases. That is all I have ever done. With fear and trembling (LOL) I decided the other day to pull it out and attempt something else. You have made my day! Will watch the suggested Laundry Day T video also.
