Hello friends!! I am sooo excited to share this video with you!! It's been in the making for ages! The edit took foooooorevvvvvver as I wanted to make it work for you! Let me know which are your favs? buy me a kofi www.ko-fi.com/penguinandpear love you forever! 💓💓💓
I appreciate all these patterns . I have awesome news. 3 doctors last month had me convinced I had cancer. I had a endoscopic procedure done day before Thanksgiving and I have absolutely no cancer whatsoever. I do need to get my gallbladder removed but after that I should be fine.
This was such a great collection of Free patterns and quite a few that I really want to add to my collection. Thanks for taking the time to pull all of this together and share. ❤
Wear a blazer anytime! They are just like a basic cardigan, especially if you make them out of linen or denim. Don't listen to people who ask, where are you going to wear it?, just sew things that make you happy, are comfortable and make you feel pretty. You will wear these things all the time, even to the grocery store!
I now have an extremely long list of clothes I want to make. So I thank you so much for this video. You are looking great lady. I don't pay attention to my weight (or anyone elses, for that matter). I go by how healthy we are and feel. But you're looking like you feel healthier. So bravo! PS-there's a good chance that if you take the glasses back to the shop they can realign them to sit on your face correctly. I have had to do it several times myself. Stay well and crafty!
You can wear nice clothes when you go to the grocery store. A blazer is not overkill for a grocery store or farmers market.. the long silk dress yeah you’re not going to be able to wear that everywhere😊 you can definitely level up your every day wardrobe, though with a blazer. I really appreciate the patterns and the resources for more patterns . Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! This was filmed a month ago so I’ve lost more since then. There will be a vlog up later on my vlog channel which was filmed today which will give a better idea ❤️
Great selection of gorgeous patterns! Thanks for sharing and researching all of these! Quite a few new to me pattern companies, thanks again. Have a great day!😊😊😊
Hello Claire 🙋♀️ I made the Isla top this fall and really enjoy wearing it. The front and back facings enclose all the seams so the finished top feels very high street quality. Thanks for the research on these sites - there's a couple I hadn't heard of and will check them out further. Bye for now 🤗
Hi Claire, this is Laura, sharing my husband’s TH-cam account. Thanks for another great video. I’m going to look into pattern number 20: the summer top, with the voluminous ruffles sleeves. I wanted to put in my two cents worth on your question about button up or button down. If I’m remembering correctly, I got this answer from Alyssa, Thoughtful Creativity. I think she said it has to do with the tiny buttons on the points of a collar, the ones that help a necktie stay in place. If it has those it is a button down shirt, if not, it’s a button up shirt
I love all of your suggestions for the free patterns. I have made a few items from Unfettered Patterns and I do love how they turned out. The one thing to know about them is that the instructions are very sparse, so it’s not very beginner friendly.
Fabulous choices Claire. I appreciate your research and editing time. I have made patterns from fabrics-store and Tiana's Closet, great places for free patterns. The Isla Puffed Sleeve top from Tiana's was my latest make and probably my favourite 😊 So want to check out some of the other places you mentioned as well. A number of those patterns right up my street. Thank you for sharing.
How very generous of your talent time and efforts! Inspired me to make the apron and a few of the dresses and skirt. Made me not afraid to mix and match! Thank you so much!
Thank you for these! I have to admit, I was like " not another free pattern video with all this patterns I've seen before". So glad I watched! By the time you hit the cargo pants ( I also love cargo pants) i already had several patterns I wanted to download. You look fabulous, by the way. Good for you for taking charge of your health. Have a great day!
Looking forward to watching this. There are so many free or low price pdf patterns but recently I have spent a lot of money on printing because my printer stopped working. I decided to buy a new one in the sale. I also bought some 50g/m paper from amazon as I don't like the normal paper for patterns. It's easier to work with and folds up smaller. I am excited to start using some patterns I bought ages ago and a new one, for me. The Encore skirt by Love Notions from there feature Friday for $5 ( $4.50 with a coupon) which worked out at £3.70. I think they have a different pattern every Friday although I bought it yesterday, Sunday, it was still on offer.
Wow! Jam-packed full of patterns. You did a lot of work in putting this video together and it is a great one. I downloaded several of these already and I'm excited to try them out. Thank you!
Lots of great patterns, thanks Claire. I've spent weeks looking for a light summer dress pattern but the prices are prohibitive. Just downloaded The peppermint Bardon Dress pdf. Exactly what I wanted for an already very hot summer here in New Zealand. You definitely earnt my subscription today and I look forward to following your channel 🥰
my comment is gone again.. anyway I've seen several I'll look into making 1,4,6,8,10 20, 21, and there were some others. My list is long! I also saw a comment from someone else who is printing their patterns on different paper from amazon and I think I will take her suggestion and run with it. Really enjoyable fun video to watch! I love the shorty tops and some of the feminine looks.
Hi, thank you so much for this amazing review. I have made, many of them... For the cardigan, with the short leaves (00:47), you must choose just one size above to be comfy as the wodele of the photo (hope you understand my words, because i'm not native and i do my best, so so sorry). Another thing, the Victorine tote bag is no more free, i'm so sad... Thank you so much for this amazing work you have made. Greetings from France (i follow your channel)
The difference between button up and button down is if there is a button on the collar to button it down. Otherwise, button up. Just learned this a few months ago.
Greetings!!! Absolutely lovely video. I’m a beginner and excited to make some of these with my daughter. Just a side note - I have one ear lower than the other and it always makes my glasses crooked - you can get a lift on your glasses arm to heighten where they sit. Hope that helps!!
I have two suitcases of new bought and second-hand patterns I've collected. But I'm too lazy to use them. I just mostly copy other clothes as I wear more pants than dresses. Bags are just rectangles so I don't bother with patterns. I make my own if I feel I need one.
On the drop shoulder long sleeve turtleneck I wasn’t able to catch which pattern company it is from. I rewatched several times and still couldn’t 😢. Can you help please? I’d love to see that one. And thank you for your list!! Awesome ❤ I think it’s pattern 19
Thank you for an excellent list, love the variety. Clicked on the link to the zoya dress, it looks to be a paid pattern. Is that the case on your end? Thanks again!
I would reach out to them if you can’t access it. The website is called do it yourself for free and the page I shared says it’s a free pattern so it’s highly unlikely you have to pay.
I bought a coat for my first dog, but Lo and Behold! he absolutely HATES wearing things. My second dog, doesn't mind wearing clothes, so I'm trying to make him a second coat: they're so expensive in the store, especially the ones that look nice(r). it's kind of annoying. And now i have 1 too many ideas of what to sew, however I'm also in the middle of packing for a short vacation in London, I wish we could meet if you lived in the city and you felt ok, and were free. I'll continue watching this in January, when I'll be more free. ;p OK, I'll take care of a few chores for today - i need to clean because i want to return to a clean house -or as clean as possible with 3 cats and the pet sitter who will come to feed them and stuff. Have a good one!
Enjoy your London visit! It’s a bit far for me but I am sure you’ll have a great time. Be sure to visit liberty of London! The fabric in that shop is 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Claire, I love the turtleneck pattern#19, but I looked it up and it isn’t large enough to fit me(50-47-50 inches). Do you have a suggestion for another free pattern that is similar?
Not off the top of my head but if I were you I’d find a free T-shirt pattern and add the turtleneck myself using a sweater fabric. Depending on the neckline you may want to raise it to add the turtleneck. There’s probably free plus size tee patterns in my older free patterns videos.
If anyone can get the man's shirt for free (Jaxon Shirt or Pattern number 35 please explain how. This was asking me to purchase a magazine in a different language and I was really interested.
Claire, as a glasses wearer and amateur videographer as well as someone who sits on my glasses more often than I admit, lowering the camera just a bit and angle the viewer slightly up to your face may camouflage the wonky angle. Peace.

Wishing you a quick recovery!
Just watched your capsule wardrobe video, how did i miss this one? Thanks Claire ❤

Bit cold atm but once it warms up I will. You’re right. I want to be more stylish and feminine so why not?!

I don’t necessarily feel healthier but I do look a lot healthier, less drained and stressed. Thank you for your compliments
Fantastic lia of patterns and thank you for doing and sharing this
I saved this video. Lots of research went into this one. You and your new place look fabulous.
Thank you Anne

Good point. In this cold weather though I wear my Parker everywhere but in spring and summer for sure. Happy to help!
A man here, watched all the way through. Great resource.
Thank you Claire - great selection. You are looking great. xxxx
Thank you ❤️
Thank you for this video!!! Off topic but, you look fantastic!!!!
Thank you again!

@Penguinandpear I look forward to it. I love all of your videos!
Pat yourself on the back... losing weight is HARD! ❤️❤️❤️
@avelsgard78 it is hard but once you get in the zone it gets easier. You need strong motivation ❤️
Really appreciate all this great info!
Thanks so much. Love your commentary!
Thank you for sharing these :)
It’s very enlightening to see someone’s picks in patterns. It makes me look at the pattern you have selected and appreciate the details more.
This is great to hear!
I am enjoying this video. These patterns look great.
Really appreciating this pattern review. Especially helpful is to see the ones that you have also made yourself.
The fabric store romper would look cute as a 2 piece outfit- the best of 2 worlds.
Thanks for all this great info! I’m definitely making Pattern #14. Perfect for a cruise! 👍🏽
Enjoy!

So many of these patterns appealed to me but in particular the Tiana’s Closet ones. Thank you x

I already know im going to sew the shirt dress soon, and the turtleneck. I've also downloaded the bermuda shorts and a few other things.
Lovely!
So good to see you here. Hadn't caught you on youtube for quite some time. I hope you are well.
I have been posting. I’m very well thank you
Thank you! I’m on a no pattern buy for 2025(except at my local thrift store where they are $1) and I saw so many I loved. Much appreciated!
Thank you!

The victory patterns tote bag is still free. You have to subscribe to their newsletter to get it.
@@Penguinandpear This is a wonderful good news. Thank you so much💜
Love this video - you've done a great job of rounding up some awesome - free - inspiration! And, your enthusiasm is infectious - well done!

There’s a link to the pattern in my description box. I think you are referring to Tessuti patterns.
Button up is how the shirt fastens.
Button down means the collar points are buttoned down.
It’s also less formal than a button up
Thank you for an excellent list, love the variety. Clicked on the link to the zoya dress, it looks to be a paid pattern. Is that the case on your end? Thanks again!
It’s on a website called do it yourself for free so I’d assume it’s free. You’d need to contact them direct to help with the website though.
Would love the Jaxon shirt to make up, but the link takes you to a subscription page & you can't access the pattern without paying to subscribe 😢

@@bombcherryjuice2000 I had the same problem, have written to the lady who shared it on her 'free to get' but not had a reply yet 🤷.
"Button down" refers to a collar that buttons down, otherwise it's a 'button up." 😁
So if there’s a button on the collar it’s button down, if no button then button up?
Claire, as a glasses wearer and amateur videographer as well as someone who sits on my glasses more often than I admit, lowering the camera just a bit and angle the viewer slightly up to your face may camouflage the wonky angle.
