I think this might just be my favourite riding clip that I've ever filmed. It's a shame I'm always fastest around sunset though. 😅 Hope you enjoy, and use the chapters if you want to skip a minute of me climbing (suffering)!
That’s mastery right there and that’s why you deserve to have the fastest time for the Ladies Only. Respect! Also what a treat to have two uploads from you over the long weekend, thanks!
1:27 that move is crazy hard in person! This is why I look up to you and your riding style, the finesse and control required to ride this track at that pace is crazy impressive.
@@DaleStone Very committing and surprisingly high consequence. The hardest part of that top section in my personal opinion, the only feature I've yet to attempt let alone clean.
It’s amusing the time spent analyzing and trying to ride certain lines and watching Dale just take a completely different line that looks easier (but Ned’s to be at speed) than the slow creep lines. Opening the mind up as usual to what is possible.
Well done Dale! Ladies is one of my favorite trails as well but you are considerably faster than I am! To be accurate, at 4:05 you switched from Ladies Only to The Big Stupid exit. Not too many people ride the end of Ladies as it is really trashed (eroded traverse of chutes) but it does flow into Lower Ladies, which would have been nice to see you ride at speed!
This looks like fun and hell at the same time. Wouldnt go on this on a full 29, even had trouble staying on a normal singletrack with big wheels after first switching to em haha
@@DaleStone wow! Dont doubt that, I'm probably faster too on a 29 nowadays. It's just less fun unless its rocky-rocky, you have to go so fast on 29 for it to feel fast. Full 27.5 makes you feel like you're going mach speed and the level of control is insane
I found there was actually shockingly little setup involved. Check their website for coil weights, and then ride test your suspension settings to dial them in. You'll love it!
Hey, great clip. So much going on with your riding style and choice of line, speed vs grip. Just wondering your tire choice. Your weight and psi? Just for my perspective.
Hey Dale, I was wondering if you have plans to review any formula products (the brakes in particular are called the Formula Cura 4). They don't have many video reviews so it could be another to add to the dale scale? Love your riding man and definitely inspired me to buy a deviate highlander frame in the future.
Hi Dale, my name is also Dale. I am running saint brakes and would like to use sram HS2 rotors with them. I am wondering if this would work given the extra thickness of the HS2 rotor. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Hello fellow Dale. I think that you shouldn't have an issue with the 2.0 HS2 rotors, but it's hard to say as I've never personally owned a Saint brake before. I'd probably stay away from 2.3 rotors though as that's a big jump from Shimano's 1.85
@@tacticalteapot2722 Hello Dale, I run Shimano SLX with HS2 2.0mm without any issues. The only observation I had compared to regular Shimano rotors is that they took a fair bit longer to bed in, maybe because I was not able to get them hot enough. But no issues after about 250km of riding so far.
Ridiculous skill on Ladies. I ended up on Lower Ladies once by accident, and know how difficult those type of features are in person - I could barely walk my bike through much of it. That trail in the bonus clip should be in the dictionary beside the word “loam”.

Twilight = the Dale blitzing hour?
What tires and psi are you running for tech trails like that one? Also…inserts?
Delium Rugged Reinforced, 17F, 19R, no inserts.

Haha thanks! That feature has claimed more than a few of my very talented friends too. More dangerous than it needs to be imo. 🙂
@@DaleStone Very committing and surprisingly high consequence. The hardest part of that top section in my personal opinion, the only feature I've yet to attempt let alone clean.
@@ZachSchaller-b5m definitely the most technically challenging move on the entire trail. Almost a single black without it!
@@DaleStone Agreed. There easily could be a ride around to the left, but Digger refuses to let it happen.
That bonus clip is so loammmmyyy 🤩
upload after upload after upload. jesus Dale, I'm not used to this. what a treat though
Don't get used to it either. 😆
Fantastic thumbnail. Really aced it!!
🧠📈
Everything is so impressive, but at 4:13, you had the energy to jump after that heroic climb 🙌
Watching this while doing indoor interval drills. This gives me all the energy. You are just such an impressive bike handler!
Haha thanks! I used to do the same on the indoor trainer. Great motivation.
What an amazing trail! Amazing run down it too - respect 👊
Always admired your riding. Very precise and efficient with great braking control!
Crazy speed.
That loamer🤩!

Yep, this was the "popular way". I will definitely do a hot lap through upper and lower next year! 🙂
Your endurance is pretty incredible, I would have definitely needed a rest at least half way down lol
The KOM has returned!
Looking forward to the final Hayes Dominion review! Nice riding BTW
Maybe this year! 🤞
Nice rip! You showed me some new lines!
So fast. So smooth. Untral dale
Ive ridden that on a 100mm travel xc race bike and damn it was fun. But man you fly down that trail.
This looks like fun and hell at the same time. Wouldnt go on this on a full 29, even had trouble staying on a normal singletrack with big wheels after first switching to em haha
That's what I originally thought too, but I beat my 27.5 time by over 20 seconds. 🤯

The shortcut at 4:40 is amazing. :)))
Shockingly effective, and pretty fun too!
Man, that pace.... Crazy.
I'd be curious how fast, let's say Melamed, would look on this trail.
He would obliterate me on any of the pedalling sections, but I don't think he trains for slow speed tech! 😉
It's like a game trying to figure out the video record date by what brakes he's running. Also that upload schedule, damn.
Time for a vacation. 🫡
lol I always brake check Dale’s videos now too
Incredible riding!
Lots of wind noise is the vid - did you do something different with your setup?
Older camera, or just really fast, but probably the camera... 🙂
Daaayum, excellent vid! I see u run hayes dominion a4, how did u get rid of the rattling sound of the brake pads? The bike is silent AF!
Thankfully my set didn't rattle! It's all about manufacturing tolerances. 🤓
Not sure this clip would've been used with a gopro, osmo kicking ass! Video really howed me how good you are like blasting down bart simpson, crazy 🤛
Well done! Loved this. Have you considered mastering it on a hardtail?
I have not, I find them more painful than fun these days haha
? No Lower Ladies? My nemesis! lol. Great Video
I've filmed it quite a few times over the years, but next year I'll get a full ladies to lower ladies clip together! 🫡
Awesome video dale, what mountain is the bonus clip filmed on? That trail looks so fun
Can't say unfortunately, but it has since been decommissioned... 🙃
@@DaleStone :-(
Hi Dale! I just bought myself a Highlander. Do you have any setup tips for setting it up? Or tips for setting up Deviate bikes in general?
I found there was actually shockingly little setup involved. Check their website for coil weights, and then ride test your suspension settings to dial them in. You'll love it!
Your bike sounds so dialed in ! What are your suspensions adjustments ?
I honestly haven't a clue! 😆 This bike has been dialed since the beginning and I've never felt the need to tinker further.
@@DaleStone oh ok I get you 😂
Hey, great clip. So much going on with your riding style and choice of line, speed vs grip. Just wondering your tire choice. Your weight and psi? Just for my perspective.
I run Delium Rugged Reinforced tires on both sides, 62kg, 17F, 19R.
Dale is so fast, he turns teeter toters to jumps!(Did you pull the front on the first root and landed on the second in Barts?)
I never ride it any other way haha, it's too dangerous to put the front wheel in between the roots IMO! 🙂

+1 for the Formula Cura
They're on the list eventually, but they're probably a spring 2025 entry at this rate. Too much cool stuff jumping the line!
Hi, can I ask, is the bike you ride a Deviate Highlander 2? if so how much do you measure and what size do you have?
It is! I'm 176cm tall and ride a medium.
@@DaleStone I measure 181, bis recommended me also medium
If the ladies ride this on the North Shore, I'd say "game blouses." I'll stick to the Children Only loop.
Dude, I will like to know what your bike is so quiet? Do you edit the sound or do something else? 🤙
Onyx Vesper hubs!
Steady like Richard Petty😉

Lower Ladies is a wild difficulty jump from Ladies Only. I've ridden it countless times (since I dislike BP) and it's always a bit spooky! 🙂
That's funny... I've heard it said that anything can be flow if you're fast enough... Sadly I'm not fast enough... But you might be...
what are these purple brake levers?
Purple Hayes

What happened to VanCan!?
Wrestled a polar bear, and won 🐻❄️
As is tradition.
Why is the bonus clip mirrored 😅
Too remove the action camera effect. 🧠
Great riding! It must be very difficult cause you were almost completely silent. Also I think there is something wrong with your camera.
Nothing wrong with the camera at all here, it was just really, really dark!
@@DaleStone Ok, cool... I kept checking my settings, I thought my computer jumped down to like 240p or something. 😂 Beautiful ride, man !!!
Isn´t here where´s the triple teeter-totter? Or i´m mistaken?
That's on Upper Oilcan! The Discombobulator. 🙂
@@DaleStone oh... Guess i was completely lost then. 😅
Do it again on a bike from 1992
That sounds unsafe at best. 🫣
60fps?
Don't believe so, unless I screwed something up haha
Some one ditch their Trinitys? That didn't last very long?
You may notice that the bike is a different colour. 🧠
please how tall are you and what is your frame size?
Sorry dale. This speed thing is not working. Ride with confidence and style. Speed is for kids!
But what if the speed is confident? And stylish?? 🧠
