absolutely! in the tea card booklet you can send off for revell kits, their prices? 1/28 fokker triplane - 79 pence! 1/32 Bf 109F - 82 pence! 1/72 dambuster lancaster - 71 pence!
The model shop in Preston on Church St was Harry Welchs...The Modellers Mecca! He had plastic bag kits of all sorts in there in the early 70s... Loved it...nothing or nowhere to buy these in Preston anymore..crying shame
just found a model shop reasonably local to me, malcs models in ilkeston, bought some bits and bobs, a mary rose kit, and had a great chat with the very friendly staff there.
I woz 8 once ! The Albatros kut was good as well , i still haven't got over my addiction, play wargames mostly now as it brings the models to life 🐾🕊️🐦
A lovely stroll down memory lane. Thanks Phil!
a trip down memory lane indeed! kits in these blister packs would have been the first models I ever built, always had a soft spot for them.
I had exactly this kit plus purchasing it as well boxed as I loved the DR1 - thanks for the memory jog !
An iconic kit and i think most kids of our age have made at least one Fokker triplane.1:72 scale the gentleman's scale.🐻🐵☺️👍
absolutely! I have at least two of these kits built and finished in my collection, I ought to dig them out and make a part two to this video!
Love the DR 1 👍👍,good idea to display it that way . If only you could still get a kit for 30 pence.

Had the brooke bond card collectors album back in the day. Had the space race and dinosaur one as well.
I collected both those space race and dinosaurs too, the history of flight was the only one i ever got the album for though!
“Fra-gilly, must be Italian…” from the movie “A Christmas Story”. Nice acquisition!
i say that every time i see the word fragile!
@@philsmodelmaking2260 🤣 same here
Haven't seen one of those for a while!🙂

Какая древность...практически музейная вещь!!😉😂
Эти наборы были большой частью моего детства!
Cant be same plane, different X on the top wings
hadn't noticed that! it seems even fifty years ago the exact specs of WW1 aircraft weren't always agreed upon!
2:38 before it's out of the box !
it was definitely well packaged!
Wash the hands please looking bad
my hands work for a living, any input on the kit btw?
