    Dixie Highway is just a local road now. Most people in Metro Detroit don't know it was the old version of what I-75 is today. It's just a name.

    • @constanttraveler
      @constanttraveler 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, so many localities still call it Dixie and some of the states still call certain stretches some variation of 25: US25, CR25. Ohio and Michigan stopped calling it US 25 a few years after I 75 was built. Ohio still claims a stretch in the Toledo/Bowling Green area as SR25 but the rest of it was given to the counties and cities. US 25 signage ends at the Roebling suspension bridge that Jacob crossed from KY to OH. The Roebling is a smaller version of the Brooklyn bridge, also built by the Roebling family

    Oh, man, that classic A&W takes me back to my childhood! IIRC (from, like, 40 years ago), it's actually the button above the switch that initiates communication, while the switch turns on a signal light on top of the menu, telling a carhop to come and remove your window tray when you're ready to leave.

    Family Video is a chain store that has been in business since 1974. They were started in Springfield, Illinois and were located throughout the Midwest (Internet is often not reliable in country). The company just announced they were closing about two weeks ago due to many stores being forced to remain closed due to shutdowns and their have been so few new movies released in past year. I am going to miss our Family Video very much. I discovered some real gems I would never have seen if streaming was the only option, as it is now (other than Redbox).
