@@alrightanton Yeah, it was tough time during pandemic. I am so happy everything came back to normal, now we can go and explore places that we like and afford 👌
Yeah pandemic was nasty... It feels kinda weird how everything is now over and things are getting back to normal as if nothing ever happened. But good to be back!
What great weather you had! I had similar in Mid-Sept for my drive from Bao Lac. It was a beautiful day, incredible ride. If I lived in Hanoi I would escape to Cao Bang ALL the time!
Yeah we were quite lucky with the weather indeed. I've watched other videos on youtube about this video and saw that some people went there during summer and oh summer in the north can be pretty unpleasant! But yeah it was the only time I've been there! gotta go there again and film it again but this time with my drone. It's a bit of a ride to get there, 6 hours is a bit too much for the modern standards but probably I'm just getting too lazy😂
Oh exactly! That's what I'm going for! I think I'll first get to Ha Giang and then travel all the way down to Ban Gioc waterfall! This should be a great holiday!
Yeah… I had to do a bit of editing magic to make everything look smooth and natural😅 I wanted to make the video parts contrasting each other but then I wanted to make sure it doesn’t hurt anyones eyes or ears😂
The Ban Gioc waterfall definitely is beautiful, but I LOVED that rickety bamboo bridge on the Co La falls...it just adds to the vibe of that area and fits in with it's surrounding.
One hundred percent! And as I understand it’s fairly new, I was checking the shots made two years before my video and the bridge was not there. Certainly a good decision to make it! Though that snake near the bridge did spook me out a little 😅
@@Patigoooool haha yeah actually I saw her comments in other travel bloggers channels too😂 Good to see this activity☺️ I bet you can get and learn even more by taking part in the video discussion!
Oh hey there, glad that you enjoyed the video! Yeah it was ideal for a three - four days holiday. Enough time to explore everything and recharge. I hope you'll enjoy your trip too!
Absolutely brilliant work, mate! YT recommended me this video because I was searching earlier about Ban Gioc Waterfalls, but now I have more Vietnam stuff to check on your channel. I hope I make it there in November this year. Lovely shots, you've got skills, really!
Ah thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it, I was experimenting with a format, the place was so beautiful and serene so that I felt that words were pretty much unnecessary here, just shots, music and background ambience that’s enough. November is a great time to visit the North, one of the best actually. It doesn’t rain, temperature drops from summer 38 C to more comfortable 27-30. It’s also not a holiday season for the Vietnamese so that you won’t have to fight with the crowds. Central Vietnam will be going through a bit of a monsoon season so be watchful of that!
Oh no, we had a friend who knew a taxi driver and a homestay, but then we figured things out on the spot. It's fairly easy, the place is big but very straightforward, there are just a few roads to take so we just explored everything on our own.
@@Raisa1r no my trip to Ha Long was done in May. It was pretty comfortable too. I think for Ha Long Bay the best months would be April May September October when it is still warm and nice but not too cold.
Hey. I don’t remember precisely, it was rather pricey, our friend had a dog so a private and reliable taxi was the only option. I think it cost us 5-6 million (~260$) round trip. We split it between three people so that it wasn’t too expensive. Taxi was the fastest and easiest way to get there. The road is rather tricky and windy. I know there are busses that go there from Hanoi, they are much cheaper.
Mmm, the rides shots in the video are from all over the Ban Gioc area. So that wherever you go you’ll be seeing these mountains. It’s a really picturesque place, I just couldn’t get enough of exploring it.
I went there in mid-December. That was a perfect time for me. It was not hot and just perfect for walking/hiking around. At the same time the better option could be probably some time in spring when the rice blooms.
thanks for making this great video. really helpful. A question : what is the best mode of transport to explore Cao Bang area. are motorbikes safe to ride. i am planning 3 days in and around cao bang, do you have any recommendation on how to commute?
Hey hey glad that you liked the video! I wouldn’t recommend getting to Cao Bang by bike, it’s a long way, most of it goes through rather dull highways. Too tiring and dangerous. As far as I know how most common ways to get there is either by bus or taxi. My friends took a bus once, the ride took some time but it was rather cheep so it did it’s job. The time I went there I took a taxi and that was rather easy and relatively fast but quite pricey. There were three of us and we could split the bill but I think I paid something like one or two million dong for the taxi.
While when you’re in Cao Bang you can rather easily rent a bike and that’s defo the best way to move around. I bet any Homestay will be able to provide one for you
This was shot in December. I think one of the best seasons to be there. It’s was warm and nice. Not too hot but at the same time not as cold as it gets in February. I thinks it’s best to go there in the late Autumn or early Spring.
Hey hey! Yeah I went to Cao Bang in the late December. I think October/November/December are the best months to visit the north of Vietnam. The weather is nice, it doesn't rain too much. It normally stays at the temperature of 20-30 celsius, and generally it's bright and sunny. Summer in the north is really hot and unpleasant. Winter gets bitterly cold. So that if you wanna visit this area come in November-December, it's really nice.
