Spark was my first serious drone. Now I have the Mavic Air 2. Would love to upgrade to the Mavic Air 3 but I don't have that kind of money. My only complaint for the Spark is the battery life. I usually got only 15 minutes of flight time. I did own 6 batteries but it got tiring changing out the battery constantly and not being able to fly farther away because the reception was not that great. Awesome camera and the size is so compact. Thank you for making this video!
I am still happy with mine. The batteries are holding up. I charge them every 3 months or more. Still a solid flyer. I recall the first video i saw on your channel was the Hubsan H109s out on the football field. Been watching every since. Take care continue to enjoy the hobby
I know this is a couple months ago, but just in case anyone comes watching this over time. You flew all the sequences in Sport mode, which always locks the gimble in FPV mode. You should fly to your filming location in Sport and then switch to Normal mode. You then have a fully stabilised silky smooth video.
I love my Spark and will probably never part with it. It is a little Tank! Although I only fly it once every 2-3 months, it still works AMAZING. Mine is Lava Red!
This was my first drone. Took it out this weekend and last weekend after a year. Still love it. Banged it a few times and still works with the same propellors ive first put on them. Great video
Also how did you do battery maintenance on the batteries to avoid them bricking? Mine died. Was not aware I needed to charge them periodically. Bought the Air 3 and will do better and avoid trashing my batteries.
You might be able to recover them by resetting the battery Management software if you have a windows PC. Google DJI battery killer and the videos can walk you through it. I brought all 3 of mine back after not using it for over 2 years. I had to add some juice with a 9v battery as they were completely out. Very cheap to do and works on multiple DJI drones.
Well done Sir and many thanks for posting!; the Spark was my first "serious" Drone (and still have it!); moved on to Inspires (V2Pro) Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro and everything in between!!; my take on the Spark (and I think confirmed with your video) the camera / sensor was more like 2.7k however they did vary regards quality control !; regardless, still a great Drone even by todays standards !!! PS; also amazing was the fact that it was only a 2 Axis Gimbal; superb in normal mode, a little jittery in sport mode !!!

Yeah, I loved my Spark it was my intro to descent drones, I hated the wifi connection to my phone but otherwise it was a great little drone, I just fly it indoors now with prop guards fitted and I still enjoy flying it, even though I’ve got Mavic 3’s, a Phantom 4 and an Inspire 2
@@DadRandom definitely my friend. It was one of the best drones I ever had. Feel free to check out my videos. Your support would be appreciated. Thank you
@@DadRandom Sorry to hear that. Mine was always rock solid. I dont fly it nearly as much anymore but still fun to get it in the air. Right now I use my Air 2S with my mini as a backup.
Just bought a spark today with flymore kit for $300 Canadian just today and I absolutely love it, I’m just beginning and took it for its first flight this evening.
Nice video! I just started messing with my Spark after a little hiatus and your video came up. I see from the background you live near the Red Mountain. I live right at the base of it. Hello neighbor!
QUESTION!! How has your batteries on Spark held up? And can you get them brand new? The issue is my spark batteries are kind of trash now a days. I could re cell them but if there is new one's still available, for like 60-70 bucks I would buy couple of them.
I dont agree. I startet my drone 'career' with the Spark, now working with Mini4pro. An incredible step in these 7 years in terms of functionalities, features, cam-/vid-/pic quality, transmission-system, range and and and... i admit there were some issues with several update-bugs lately and quality control of them. But in general we get a highstandard product for a fair price. So, what is the (or your) alternative ?
About 2 weeks ago I took my Air 2s out on the Rail Trail to use the active tracking feature and let it follow me while riding my Ebike. The Air 2s has always performed great when doing this. I started on the trail and after about a half mile I looked at my screen periodically to check on the drone as i had the controller mounted on my handlebars. I noticed that the camera was jumping up and down and I had a horrible picture even though the Air 2s was still following me. So I stopped and landed the drone and tried to calibrate the gimbal. But it failed several attempts. I took the drone back to the house and I gently wiped around the gimbal motors with a Q-tip and I blew around the motors of the gimbal. I tried calibrating it again and the camera would not go down it worked fine going from side to side and pointing straight up but not down. I tried to turn the knob on the controller but it wouldn’t point the camera down. So with my fingers I moved the camera up and down repeatedly i could almost feel a catch in the gimbal when barely moving the camera down. So I thought I would have to send it back to DJI for repair but I didn’t purchase care refresh and I didn’t have any extra money. I just happened to look on the shelf and saw a can of WD-40 lubricant sitting there that I had used for something else. I decided to just squirt a little bit around the gimbal motors and then wipe any excess lubricant off with a tissue. After doing that it started working again. I could move it up and down the camera was much smoother. I had noticed in several past flights when hitting the return button the camera would jerk up and now it’s smooth and doesn’t do that. I went back to the rail trail and did the active tracking and then a few days later I took it to another location and used active tracking again almost 3 miles it followed me on the ebike. Sometimes they just get dirt or debris in between the gimbal motors and it causes friction. Just something that you might try with the spark. It worked for my air 2s
MINI 2SE or MINI 4K Giving you a better long term option. You won't regret either of these. SPark is getting harder and harder to find batteries and the gear is getting too old.

Don’t forget the palm control hand gestures freaking people out with that😮 this is a gem in the rough I’m keeping mine ,it’s going to be a classic.
SPARK had cropped down 4k or close to it to get the amazing quality.

+John K that’s a great name, “little tank”. Durable, dependable, fast and just fun. Camera is still just good enough for most of us to use.

If you own a drone, you need to fly it or sell it. I am flying a used drone with batteries 🔋 that are in good charge condition. I keep on it.

Great flight. I have a Spark, I bought mine in late 2019 and I love it. It’s an absolute tank of a drone. I much prefer to fly it ahead of my Mini2.

Yes, a grain of sand can do this because of the low tolerances
I didn't know its not in production anymore. Will this still receive updates?
No
It’s a fly as it is old school drone.
Your otg cable goes through the handle, port on phone fits into slit on remote handle then you plug cable into phone.
This controller design didnt take into account phones increasing in size I guess
I think the spark might have been my third drone. I was amazed at how tiny it was.
