Allows the engine to breathe easier. With that you get better fuel economy. I haven't thrown it on a dyno, but I can tell you that between this and the K&N Cold Air Intake, the Jeep is much more throttle responsive, quicker on acceleration and has a slight increase in intake sound. Highly recommended if you upsize the tires.
I just wanted to thank you for putting up this video. I've done minor fixes forever. Found you more out of necessity as I was told my throttle body needed to be replaced and was given a very expensive repair estimate. I watched your video several times and I did it! I bought my own tb and replaced it. Still have issues with it relearning. Will see what's up with the obd but Hubby was impressed. Love my Jeep and want to keep her going as long as I can. Wish I watched spark plug video before putting it back together tho. 😕😆
Love the video I was wondering if you could please send me the link where you bought the fastman. big bore throttlebody so I could purchase one for my 37.v6 . grand Cherokee Laredo thanks and keep on making those great videos
I'm wondering about how to reprogram those. I understand they require that with a new unit placement. I have a cable controlled unit and am wondering if that applies if I'm just removing, cleaning, and reseating my original unit.
Excellent informative video Just ordered a new modified TB from Fastman. Pretty sure the install will be the same on my 2008 Jeep Commander Sport 3.7L. Looking to get a little more launching power. Hopefully this combined with my drop in K&N high flow filter will give me the little boost im looking for.
Where in the h e double hockey sticks is IAC located on this throttle body? I'm guessing under the cover on the left side but don't want to tear it apart and messy up my day in a big way.
Thanks. Going to replace mine. I keep getting a code indicating a IAC problem. However my late model 2007 3.7L uses a 2008 Throttle body just like in this video so there is no IAC valve. One last point the new Throttle body must be calibrated
Butt dyno says yes. When paired with a cold air intake it has more top end breathing and requires less throttle input for normal driving. I also noticed about a 2mpg highway increase after installing that combo.
I have a question I installed a new throttle body on my 2007 jeep grand Cherokee 3.7l v6 and it started shaking and the lightning bolt is lit up on my dash any ideas what to do
I noticed that you didn't change the gasket for the throttle body. Wouldn't it make sense to do that? In case there's something wrong with the old one. It's not hard to do and the new throttle body should come with a new one.
@JonRoc Ah, nice! Feel free to post back on how your install went. My specific "TheFastMan" throttle body took about 3 weeks from order to delivery. Keep that in mind when trying to schedule installation. Dan, the owner, is an awesome guy - very friendly to deal with. Top notch customer service and his prices are reasonable. I would do business with him again.
hey I have the same Grand cherokee Laredo 2007. The accelerator pedal is hard to press... i mean i'm not enjoying the driving.. When I press on the pedal I don't feel that the car really does that instant jump... i don't know if u understand what i mean... i'm doing my best to express the situation... is it the same at all Grand cherokee 2007 v6 3.7L? Or if I clean the throttle body it will change?
Can you show me where the TPS is? I have the same engine in my commander and i can't locate it. I don't see it on yours either. Or am i looking in the wrong place? Thanks for your help
So, is the outside diameter of the Fastman throttle body the same as the OEM? I heard that you can do the same thing cheaper by grabbing a throttle body from a 4.7.
This would be my next project i was wondering how did it feel after you installed it? im running the same K&N intake and a 40 series flowmaster muffler did you feel better throttle response ? how was it driving on the street? sorry for bugging haha
The Jeep is much more throttle responsive, quicker on acceleration and has a slight increase in intake sound. Highly recommended if you upsize the tires. Driving on the street is fine.
I deff uped my tire size so my wk sometimes is a little sluggish to switching gears or feels a little to heavy so deff looking forward to getting a better throttle response great diy though!
In the meantime, feel free to disconnect your battery for about a half hour so it can relearn rpm shit points with your new tire size. You should notice a difference in about a hundred or so miles as it learns those uprated tires.
I have the same type but an 07 and have been experiencing coldstarts that has the RPM jump to 1700 even when its 80 degrees outside, could this be a Throttle problem?? Horsepower is lagging as well. and when warm, car will not exceed 60mph, when i press on the gas, the rpm shoots from 2000 to 2300 easily and with no gain in speed. What are your thoughts??

great video very helpful however the sensor on the rear of the manifold is the air intake temp sensor (IAT) NOT the mass air flow sensor.
Any power gains from doing that?

You got it. Glad to hear it helped!
Hey good job the new part don’t need computer reprogram
can you send me link where you bought the throttle body
@forzaitalia5910 In short, they make your engine breathe easier by allowing more air in.
You should definetly do more jeep videos

What is the purpose of this new throttle body, does it allow it to suck in more air giving it better performance?
Thanks
yes

mine is different same motor same vehicle same throttle body but has a hose on the right where that silver cap on the right side
My jeep rumbles while its idling. Do you know if changing the throttle body would fix this?
Would have liked to have known if there was an improvement in performance

My ETC light keeps coming on, will replacing this fix the issue?
Where would the gasket go for this
I have a question I installed a new throttle body on my 2007 jeep grand Cherokee 3.7l v6 and it started shaking and the lightning bolt is lit up on my dash any ideas what to do
I noticed mines a 3 nuts and not a 4 nuts to unscrew on the throttle body mines a 4.7 v8 06"

You don't need to remove them screws on the air box it just pops on an off with a little bit of force.
it's it's same for 2008 keep commador?
Did u Change the electronic throttle body its necessary to reset the electronic throttle body to re learn the pcm coz that is electronic
do i need to change fuel injectors later?
Excellent video...Thank you!

does the 2006 jeep grand cherokee 3.7l v6 has an electronic throttle system or cable?
Electronic

Where can I buy the throttle body
what do throttle bodies do?
hey brotha awesome jeep you have, where did you purchase that throttle body from? because i want to buy the same one, thanks!
Would it fit on a 2005 dodge ram with the 3.7 since they are both Chrysler engines?
code does not appear on the dashboard when you change that
My2006 is like the gas pedal is stuck and it is 4wheel Hemi 57
Can you show me where the TPS is? I have the same engine in my commander and i can't locate it. I don't see it on yours either. Or am i looking in the wrong place?
Thanks for your help
Does it need to be reprogram?
No. Reconnecting battery will reset ECU
Do u have to program it ???
Nope.
I have the same problem, were you able to resolve it?
can you show the part # for the big bore throttle boby please!
For anyone asking... its 50 inch pounds on the bolts
Have you gotten better fuel economy with this?
Sunmanbb If I do it's pretty negligible. Most noticeable difference is less throttle input required. Feels like more torque at low end.
Can you get a code p0507 on a back Throttlebody on a 2007 Jeep GC 3.7L
So, is the outside diameter of the Fastman throttle body the same as the OEM? I heard that you can do the same thing cheaper by grabbing a throttle body from a 4.7.
Give that screwdriver a little twist and it'll loosen the terminal up very easily.
What year are you doing here?
1badcj8 2008

I did it last night so I'm hoping it changes but I heard a Dino could help what are your thoughts on that?
Cool. Yeah, a proper tune would definitely help, especially if you've done exhaust mods too.
