  • President Dallin H. Oaks of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints rededicated the Mesa Arizona Temple following extensive renovations.
    About 2,400 people came to the temple on Sunday, December 12, 2021, for each of the three rededication sessions. Chairs were set up in various rooms inside the temple for Latter-day Saints invited to attend the event in person. Local worship services were not held on Sunday so that local congregations in the temple district could attend the sessions that were streamed to 29 stake centers.

    I have a great-uncle who turned 101 in July, who was at the original dedication. He was supposed to be at this one as well, but I never saw him there. I really hope he made it.

    My son Elder Samuel J. Reed served in the Mesa Arizona Mission. This was his temple.

    My great grandparents, John Walton Foote and Carrie Mae Gale Wilkins were temple workers in the Mesa Temple in the 1940's.

    I'm sure President Howard W. Hunter is smiling down right now because it's the temple were he was sealed to his parents on his 46th birthday in 1953!

    I was in the temple for the first session! I was in a sealing room, not sure which one (on the ground floor), watching it on a TV screen. The audio kept blipping out. I wish I knew why. Other than that, it was a great experience.

    The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands;

    Does anyone know what is being done For the tornado victims in Kentucky and elsewhere? Is there anything we can do as a church? I think this is the most important thing right now our brothers and sisters are hurting right before Christmas
