Discovered this band last night and I've never been so in love with a genre of music before this is exactly the kind of ska I've been searching to vibe with just right, the perfect mix of of rough tough get the fuck up punk and layer back reggae set backs it's fucking PERFECT THANK YOU SUICIDE MACHINES
I never was big on skating but I sure as hell love this music. I mention bands like this and op ivy in school and people think I'm crazy hahaha. Let's hope my roommate next year won't be one of those people.
What ironically sucks is that the trendy rich kids here in NYC are wearing checkerboard vans. They are also wearing band t-shits and when I ask them, "So what's your favorite Ramones song" I get nothing but a blank stares. Lol
The Suicide Machines is the BEST PUNK/SKA band ever!!! They made both IN FRONT!!!! And "Battle Hyms" was the first album I bought with songs under a minute long... I actually got a patch buying it from a few stores Downriver.... I bought mine a Record Exchange in Southgate...
Fuck it, cup sole all the way, board feel = turning your heel into veal trying to skate in vans. Emerica! I actually used to listen to this, now The Decline and Local Resident Failure got me amped as fuck on that 90's style punk. Even got a touch of ska, no horns, though.
Today, I forgot my book in english class, so I had to trade in an object for trade...and I traded in my purple and black checkered vans...and my English teacher comments on them...and recommends I watch this :D
Suicide machines were never really that big. Remember my neighbor showing me them on cassette on the school bus back when this came out. Ended up seeing them in 2000 I think at warped tour. One of the best ska/punk bands ever
@@asageorge6x3 When you saw them in 2000, what was the setlist like? Did they mostly play songs from the self-titled album (the newest album at the time) or did they play some of their older ska-punk material?
It was mostly stuff from destruction, and then more battle hymns than selftitled (which I personally didn't like one single song from, destruction is their all time best album). Hell I still have the suicide machines destruction VHS that was footage of them skateboarding and 3 live songs [the audio was the album version though] it's maybe 15 minutes long ha ha
@@asageorge6x3 That's so awesome! :) Thanks for sharing the your story. I thought they would have played more from their then new self titled album. I didn't mind it. It was very different, but if it was a first album by another band, it would have been better. I agree, Destruction By Definition is their best album.
I love my Van's and Docs equally. If I want to walk around and feel like I own the world I wear my Martens and if I just want to throw on something great looking and comfortable I wear my Van's.
@vlaflipification people will never just respect each other, so you just have to fight in any means necessary for what you believe in and the fact that you get weird looks should be a good sign, it means you stick out:D (trust me, I get the same thing at my school lol)
personally, this day in age rando's wearing vans and thrasher annoys the shit out of me. 1. Jake Phelps died. 2. when you wear vans but then mock me for skating its fucking annoying. 3. Vans are cool but dont be a poser.
Hadn’t heard this song in 25 years but it gets stuck in my head every time I hear the word ‘Vans.’
same dude
Ha! If you know, you know!
Haha this song is why I still, as a working mom who slangs in an office, drives a mini van and has kids still wear Vans.
Yuh P. N. D.

How has vans not bought the rights to this song yet? It's awesome and should be on every commercial and promo
@a_slight_veneer_of_privacy doesn't mean the average vans wearer would realize that.
i wonder if the name, Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines, has anything to do with it...
Well, the word fag being in the opening would be an awful thing for the Vans company, I’m sure.

god i love the trombone in this song!! it's so alive and full of energy it just makes you want dance and smile!

It's 2013, I'm 33, and still wearing vans. Fuck yeah!

It's now year 2021 and we all wear them now.

Now you’re 43
Life comes at you fast man…

Today, I will worship Chris Cornell.
R.I.DMs
me too. first time i ever heard his name despite knowing who sound garden was.
Thumbs up this comment if you had this cd at the age of around 12-13 back in the 90's, and used to skate! Getting pumped to this album while skating👍🏽
I never was big on skating but I sure as hell love this music. I mention bands like this and op ivy in school and people think I'm crazy hahaha. Let's hope my roommate next year won't be one of those people.
Being 10 in 2000 listening to this song was a absolute treat 👌🏻👌🏻
what a masterpiece, I'm surprised the Beatles didn't write this beautiful peice of poetry 30 years prior
Still got my Bach Tenor Trombone from way back. I'd love to start playing again. The Bass of the Brass Section!
I love this song, man. I love The Suicide Machines in general!
What ironically sucks is that the trendy rich kids here in NYC are wearing checkerboard vans. They are also wearing band t-shits and when I ask them, "So what's your favorite Ramones song" I get nothing but a blank stares. Lol
i fucking hate people who wear ramones shirts but dont actually listen to the ramones
Tell them your favorite Ramones song is "What I like about you" and watch them nod.
Other than the fact that I'm a massive Less Than Jake fan, this song is why I want to learn to play the trombone.
one of the best songs ever!
Vans store on Eagle Rock blvd. forever!

Love vans.theres a lot of culture behind the shoe. Music sports and family :)
i'm gonna die one day when i'm nice and old, and VANS will be on my feet.
@Wheelsonmyfeet Do it man. If there's one thing this world needs more of it's Trombonists.
i love their drummer
Wow i love vans im on my seventh pair since 1 year 😍 fck jordans 😂😂
plz tell me you like them bc of bands like this and NOT bc lil wayne rapped about "having vans on" i fucking hate that piece of shit!
Nope its all about bands ➰
AntiiLifee I like them because they look cool. Not because anybody says they're cool.
you know what i meant...i wore vans before i even knew who the suicide machines were lol
Off The Air I like them for skateboarding because that's what they are for.
Fuck it, cup sole all the way, board feel = turning your heel into veal trying to skate in vans. Emerica! I actually used to listen to this, now The Decline and Local Resident Failure got me amped as fuck on that 90's style punk. Even got a touch of ska, no horns, though.
Love this song
@Wheelsonmyfeet i never wanted it to become mainstream...but its one of the biggest things in the 90's (at least for me)
Theres a vans store at every mall now but u cant get any of the old school ones fml. Gotta buy my shoes online now lmao
Today, I forgot my book in english class, so I had to trade in an object for trade...and I traded in my purple and black checkered vans...and my English teacher comments on them...and recommends I watch this :D

Unfortunate amount of views for the length of time it's been uploaded for.

Awesomer than Blink-182 & Sum 41
Nah they'd be overrated.
Me too... No lies.
Every time I see this video, I can't help but look at the Adidas shoes on the right of the album cover.
I think those are Etnies
Yup, Etnies lo cut. Takes me back to my days ordering from CCS catalogs! Ahhhhh the 90's. 🛹
@@bgould1756 Oh, I miss CCS catalogs, would pour over those for hours!! little off topic, but miss the mags of 90's in general, especially GamePro!
♥ love
