I remember seeing these guys at the Warped Tour sometime in the late '90s and the lead singer was hiding from the police for inciting a riot where a cop car was flipped over.
just saw these guys for the first time a few months ago... one of my favorite shows ever! their energy and the crowd were infectious! a wild night to remember!
My Number 1 Concert of all time-- the year was '96/97, i was a senior in college and bought 4 tix to this show, Tracedero in Philidelphia. NONE of my friends wanted to go so i took 3 pledges. I puked during warmup from beers alone, and it was still daylight. It was Freezing out and i'll never forget throwing open double doors and getting WHACKED with a palpable WALL of HEAT and SOUND. -- it was the majestic triumphant chords to this Masterpiece here. The pledges were a nice guy driver, a Blonde Bodybuilder named Ben, and Santiago Morales. At some point We're in the crowd and Ben asks if i've seen Santi, I headed to the mens room to look for him in a panic when a strong hand grips my arm, and i'm 6'4 210lbs ripped. Its ben but he's staring intently at the stage.. i look up and see a skinhead, a guy w a mohawk, and in between them is Santiago- wearing just a tight white guinea tee with massive plume of dark chest hair flowing over. My relief was replaced by amplified delight he did a stage dive! The energy was Contagious! Footnote: ... A day or two later i'm in a cafeteria and the pretty girl across the table asked if i got a tatoo. I had no idea what she was talking about, she pointed at my arm. On my upper arm there was a blue/ purple mark that looked like sergeant's stripes. I believe the shape is called a chevron. It was a BRUISE from someone's boot tread! I didnt fall down that night so someone's boot was almost 6' off the ground :)))
God damn. After all these years I still love em. Darien lake... Warped tour... They did a wall of death and I ended up riding a rollercoaster with them as my friend with a lisp kept shouting thuicide mathines the whole way. What a great day.
Breaking myself There's something about myself I can't control Yet it happens time and time again when I'm trying to be Well I smash it down and break it down when I'm trying to be Well it's such a shame it's sad to say there's nothing to see there I don't want to talk about it 'cause you know I can't live without it It's a stupid fucking shame And every time I think about it I think I'm so lame Listen I break the glass, I break it down What's your story, what's your sign. No I can't agree Well you know you'll never get it in this life for free You can blow it down and break the glass Break my heart in two But you'd better be prepared its such a shock There's nothing there Fill me up because I'm empty Why couldn't I just have kept me You know it really fucking sucks When I try to talk about it the words seem to get stuck I break the glass, I break it down Down! I break the glass, I break it down Pick it up
I found that their live shows had a different vibe than the albums... I remember them opening up for less than jake (or some other not so great band) they almost had a hiphop kind of groove to their set... , the records were kind of poppy but their lives shows kept it nice and grimey ... would totally go see these guys now if they were ever to come do a reunion thing here in Montreal

Destruction by Definition is without a doubt their best album.

Arguably one of the best punk albums of the 90s imo. Right up there with Rancids and out come the wolves.
And this is a 360 song of their abilities and taste... just love it
