The comment or question (for the upcoming Roo Q&A video), with the most thumbs up will win a free fine art print from the Roo collection. Thank you so much for the continued love on this series! I really wanted to make them special so it's taken some time to edit. Last update - the crowdfunder will go live in a few weeks (still confirming all the details).
Squirrelly wishes,
Dani
I've discovered your channel while i was upset with my french president and governement policy. I was trying to change my mind, and jumped into your squirel world. I was very sad and a little bit depressive. So far, i've discovered a very true personality with a great talent, and i wish you the best for your carrier, as you are literaly saving peoples from sadness and maybe worse.
So glad you could both watch each other again 🫂
ok its fine ❤
boo, We expected GROO to be excited and and comfort you. I believed she still miss having you around, That why she kept coming back. Maybe if you hod something she remember like that blanket she will reconized it more. They should make it legal to keep a squirrel. We want more video of you and groo interaction
Yeah! ❤❤❤ 🎉Rue is alive and well and living free and wild!!! I fell in love with her thru your videos and worried about her all winter! So glad she is ok! It is also good she is a female, because females are less likely to wander and it is more likely you will continue to see her for years to come!❤😍
I am an ecologist and keen wildlife photographer who caught Lyme disease whislt doing surveys. The disease has left me disabled, and as a result I am severely restricted in my ability to undertake surveys or wildlife photography. I discovered this channel a year ago whilst in my hospital bed and I cannot thank you enough for the inspiration and therapeutic value it has provided. Thank you Dani.
I hope you recover to go again to the nature and enjoy it.
🍃Gosh, have you tried Ivermectin for humans I understand it works well for lime disease. 🍃
@@EmoZhaeNanthere's no recovery from Lyme disease :/ It's an unknown that medical science still doesn't understand, after the initial infection there's nothing detected in the patient, but they're still debilitated.
@@MultiClittleI understand each individual will vary in their experience, but I have a family member with this disease, and they report having a lot of ups and downs; some days they are fine, other days they can't get out of bed. It seems the best we can hope for in such situations is more "good days" or at least less severe symptoms.
@heatherbryant4197 that is very much my experience. It is the unpredictability that causes the most issues as its impossible to plan for things as you don't know how you will feel tomorrow until you wake up.
You should win a video award for the Roo series! It was awesome and touched people around the world.
Agreed.
💯
Agree!

With Roo being a female, not only did you save her, you saved all the kits she will have and all the generations after.
When do you mean by that it would be same if Roo was a male .
@@henrik908 I feel this getting political. Better ask the squirrel about it's pronouns. Might just be a male who forgot it's nuts.
Your comment really don't make any sense unless you are a 13 year old.
@@henrik908 bomchakalakalaka
@@henrik908 for someone saying other people comments dont make sense, you really should look at what you post yourself. I'm sure I don't need to explain my comment but I'll indulge you anyway......
2 key bits of info from google for this explanation, 1. Squirrels don't mate for life, actually they get around a bit in mating season. 2. The average litter of a red squirrel is 3 kits per litter with usually 2 litters per year.
Lets say you have a colony of 10 males amd 15 females, that 10 males can mate with the 15 females and produce 90 kits a year. Now lets flip that to 15 males and 10 females, that then drops to 60 kits per year. Given Dani said winter can take out a significant number of kits, the numbers show that for survival and growth of the colony, more females is better.
But with you being so enlightened, I didnt need to tell you this did I? You would have known that many human social ideals wouldn't apply in the animal kingdom
The ears! The tail! The FLOOF! So lovely to have a Roo update ❤
I am a retired photojournalist and I must say that your videos are top notch and your photography is at the level I’d be proud to achieve.
Your Roo series should get awards for your fine work.
Thank you with my whole heart for your work. ❤
Thank you Dani. This one brought a tear to a 65 year old's eye. You gave Roo a fabulous start in life. Well done!
I'm so glad Roo is around! Perhaps she felt abandoned whilst you were gone on your 3 month trip but it still feels like home so she's around? What you've done for Roo is uniquely special and I think it's a very natural and human thing to do to want to save an injured or orphaned baby animal. The fact that you never forgot that Roo needed to remain wild is the most important thing you could have done for her and you did successfully release her back into the wild. Thank you Dani for renewing my faith in humanity as being kind and empathetic! Truly spectacular job!
I did wonder that re: abandoned as in missed them and a bit wary of getting close again. Obviously abandoned not the right word as Roo had to be wild and fend for herself but it does make you wonder how their little minds and hearts work.
I don't she can think like abandoned in a way like feeling a resentment and because of that don't want to interact.
This made me cry, She is so beautiful. All the squirrels are so beautiful. Thanks for these videos and thanks for taking care of Roo.💕💕
I cried too, my friend. Its all just so beautiful 💞💞

Not only squirrels all the creatures made by the mother nature are beautiful.
@@henrik908I know, that's a given but I wrote squirrels because of the squirrels in the video specifically.

I teared up when you discovered Roo and that she has been there with you all along. I have loved following along with the story of her rescue and release. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with her with the rest of the world!
Maybe Roo would recognize Dani if she wasn't wearing the heavy coat & hood?
But Roo being fully wild is indeed the best outcome.
Roo is so beautiful! I’m so glad she’s exactly where she belongs. You did an amazing job raising her. ❤️🐿
It's great to see that Roo is living a totally independent life. Your motherly skills have paid off.......
Tears in my eyes, so happy to see Roo in fine conditions. I am sure, Roo has not forgotten you and that what you have done for him/her. Maybe, Roo was a little not amused that you leave him for a while. Thanks for sharing it.
Though it breaks a small part of my heart to hear that she doesn't recognize you I'm so glad that she is fine and I think it is a great outcome of Roo's story.
Illegal or not-you absolutely did what was right by baby Roo. This little girl would not have survived without your love and care and whilst I appreciate at times nature should take its course, it’s not always what’s right ❤. I would have happily broken the law for her 🩷.
That’s a great way to put it. It’s amazing what she has done for baby Roo❤️
If a baby squirrel loses its mother because of man-made objects like cars I think it's our obligation to help them. If the mom had been taken by a native predator (no domestic cats or dogs) instead it might be different - although I don't think I could let a healthy baby just die.

Couldn’t agree more. We as humans sometimes forget that’s it’s their home as well as ours 😢.
Thank you for saving Roo. If only squirrels could talk. Imagine her telling her Kit's one day, Her upbringing. Job well done ❤
This was really wonderful and it doesn't matter to me that Roo is a female. It was just so nice to see her again and I think the reason Roo stayed away is that she is pregnant. It is also great that you have the crowdfunder. Many thanks Dani!
Thank you, Dani, for taking me on this journey. This is a very cherished series, lovely made and interesting throughout each minute. Also some wonderful shots of the country side, squirrels, and other wildlife. ❤️
Three months must be a long time in the life of a squirrel. So it is not that surprising that Roo has changed during this time. But she stayed close to your home. So it is her place. This hasn’t changed.
Be proud of what you and Juan achieved Dani, reintroducing Roo back to her habitat and now thriving. Great series, worthy of awards.
Love the laugh!
"What I did was kind of illegal! Hah!"
You deserve your own TV series.
Thank you for letting us participate in Roo's journey!
The realization that Roo was there all along, and you realizing it by the nose...priceless emotion! Thx for your continued work!!
I’m inspired by the way you were able to care for Roo and also be ok with her release. We have such attachments as humans which often prevents us from connecting with creatures or people that may be temporary relationships. You are brave and vulnerable, Dani! Thank you for modeling such kindness. 💕
Well said . Opening yourself up so loving and vulnerably takes courage . The selfish side of me hopes Roo would have jumped into your arms but the mature side of me realizes Roo is just choosing her own independent and wild path ❤ it takes courage to consciously and continually let go of attachments ❤
She grew into such a beautiful squirrel! It’ll be so fun to see if she has babies in the future.
So glad Roo is thriving.
Thank you for updating us on Roo! And letting us know all is well 🙂🐿️❤️
She is so beautiful, Dani. Well done, both you and Juan, for gifting her this life. I’m beyond thrilled that she is thriving and stays close to your home :)
There's a possibility she was friendly to other humans too, but something bad happened with a human encounter during the 3 months you were gone, and now she's nervous around people overall. Dani you saved a life and brought Roo's story to people all over the world, and I'm really grateful you did. Sending warm wishes and luck to you and Roo (and her future kits)!
5:58 I felt goosebumps and got emotional.
The transitional filming is wonderful in so many ways
Roo is pure love. ❤😊
This video has given me hope. i made friends with a little female last year and she would let me pet her and her nests were destroyed by a storm and she moved further down a tree line. i have not seen her for two months.
You and your friend saved Roo’s life. I think Roo may still remember you in time. You might try to jog “her” memory. 😊🐿️
I think in Summer she will
Maybe some avocado 😅
Congratulations and well done. This truly is the best outcome for the squirrel. Much better to have a wild life than one attached to humans. This is a real success story.
Everything about this series - the uplifting narrative, the immersive camera work, and the loving narration - competes to be the most beautiful part. The joy of this story is only increased by how much of a joy the videos are to watch. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hand rearing Roo illegal!? Illegal smeegle...you saved a beautiful baby squirrel who otherwise would have died. You did your best to re-wild her, and it's been successful. What more could anyone ask for. Well done and much love to you and Roo!
I'm pretty sure that the purpose of this Swedish law is to protect wild animals. What Dani did absolutely did not break the spirit of the law, even if it broke the letter.
Beautiful video and sharing of you and Roo reuniting! It brought tears to my eyes and opened my heart to all wildlife. I live in the Mojave Desert and in 2015 we were hit by wind gusts over 100 mph. A local roadrunner who would visit every day to look for lizards and other food did not show up the next day. When he returned his leg was disconnected at the area where it connects to his body. I didn't think he would make it but every night he sleep on a ledge on my porch outside my front door. I decided to feed him since he couldn't hunt and I put a homeopathic remedy in the water bowl on the porch. Over the next few days, he ate, drank and spend the day around my rural cabin. Then I noticed his leg was healing so that he could use it like a peg leg hopping on it. His claw was withered but stiff enough that it supported him. Later that year he was mating and continued sleeping under my porch for the next few years. I hope your journey with Roo continues. Thanks for sharing this story Dani.
Wow I was holding my breath as I watched to see what had happened to Roo. What a wonderful outcome Dani….💕🇬🇧
It's amazing you found your precious Roo, so now that's she's a girl and very precious I think she deserves to be called Rooby.
Ohhhhh, I need a tissue! Sweet, sweet Roo. She was always there 😭💕😭💕😭💕. Thank you so much for sharing this update! 💗
Fantastic story! I'am glad Roo finally adapted to the wild life. It was pleasure watching her on this video.
Amazing. My sister went to South Georgia Island; my brother-in-law took pictures of what to me seemed an infinite number of penguins. An NG photographer gave this advice to him: Wait, wait, wait until the animals come to you. Which is what you do.
Yay! Roo has grown to be such a beautiful squirrel! Glad you found her and she is wild & free! ❤️
Good or Bad -- I held off reading the comments because you are such a gentle storyteller that I wanted you to be the one to let me know about Roo's life. I have so enjoyed watching this series and your other with the penguins. Even though taking in and caring for a little red squirrel is maybe illegal, would you do it again and have you ever thought about writing a children's book with stories of Roo's adventures? Thanks again Dani, I think you are amazing and so talented.
I saw a few comments before watching. The story still has its impact even having seen them. You'll love it.
i hoped roo would have welcomed you with a hug x
Stunningly beautiful video...beautiful Roo...and heartwarming series. It's one of my favorite TH-cam series ever!!! Thank you, Dani, for following your heart and sharing this love with the world. ❤❤❤
That was brilliant sleuthing! And you did an amazing job raising her. TY for this update. My heart is warmed.
I am so pleased you found this captivating ball of fluff again on your return home, they are such delightful creatures. The future of red squirrels is in safe hands and we can all make a difference. I remember in 2019 we had an enormous wild fire come through where we live in Australia it was terrifying. The sound of the birds and animals had gone from the bush and the despair we felt was all consuming. We fed Kangaroos and their young for months after, now you would not know it had happened they still bring their families to visit and the despair we felt then has all but disappeared. The trips to your home I believe would be enchanting. Thank you
What a beautiful suprise Dani....Roo is a little girl and she is absolutely beautiful. You did a great job raising her and putting her back in the wild.
When I was a young teenager our cat brought a baby squirrel home in its mouth. The squirrel was still alive and my parents raised it. Eventually it became too big to stay in the house and they let it out in the yard. It climbed a tree and live there. Occasionally we would call it and it would come down and visit us.
I'm not crying you are!
Don't really have a question for the Q&A Just a comment that you can be proud you raised this little squirrel into a beatiful wild squirrel that has obviously learned how to survive the harsh winters in Sweden, thank you!
I'm so glad seeing Roo alive and healthy. 😃 Dany, your video makes my heart full of love. ❤🐿️ Thank you so much. 🙏
The work and love you invested in your Roo series absolutely shows, and it was so uplifting to discover how things turned out. Much-needed soul food in our often trying times.
You're back! And with a Roo story!
Dani, have you thought about wearing the black hoodie now that it's getting warmer outside, so maybe Roo will recognize you. Because she hasn't seen either you or your boyfriend in winter clothes.
It's good that you managed to re-adapt Roo to be wild in the wild.
Have seen many TH-cams where people have kept wild animals in captivity, such as squirrels, beavers, raccoons. black panther and so pumpkin in captivity. The people who have done that do not understand that wild animals should be out in the wild and not inside their homes.
I like watching your movies, as I feel calm watching your clips.
Look at Roo now ! Beautiful and majestic and thriving ❤ well done for giving her love and care when she most needed it. Thank you so much for this series and all your hard work in making this series and saving Roo ❤❤❤
Thank you for this update on Roo. I so wanted her to recognize you and come to you!! I was heartbroken.💔 But it’s so good that she is doing well and your goal is accomplished. Roo is a wild squirrel.🐿️ It seems her future is bright. Thank you!!❤️🐿️❤️
Well done Dani mission accomplished Roo is free and independent. TY for this series, it was beautiful.
This is so bittersweet... thanks so much for saving her. Wishing Roo the best life

This has to be one of the best and most uplifting things on TH-cam to date. The quality of the production and the camera work are equal to or better than the professional nature programmes on TV. This Roo series in particular needs recognition with film making awards.

Roo is trying to stay wild and free, her not wanting to come to you Dani is a good thing for her survival. What a wonderful series you have created for all of us to enjoy. ❤
Why? What would it hurt for her to come see them sometimes?
@@happystoat99
Dani has rescued Roo from death and gave her a second chance to survive in the wild, by domesticating animals that are born to be wild, it lessons their chances for survival.
@@theodorehowe2262 You're just repeating yourself, not giving arguments as to why it would be...
Would Roo then be :
1. More likely to starve? Clearly no
2. More likely to die from disease? Clearly no (see previously)
3. More likely to die from injury? Clearly no (see previously)
4. More likely to get killed by a marten or a cat? I don't see why
So unless you have additional arguments I think it would *increase* her chances of survival. There is a reason why animals in captivity live so much longer than in the wild... Roo could have the best of both world
