Jordan! You've done it again. I don't think people are aware at how important your videos are for the inclusion of new players to AoS. AoS is several games in one; Chess, Puzzle, interactive, battle area, deck building, card casting, Axis&Allies, conquest, etc, and you help blend those complex games into something visual which amplifies learning. The layers of the game can leave new players unaware of army features and application of army features. You do an amazing job, not just talking about the application of your units, but your opponents position, motivation and features as well. Only facilitated because you have the experience and models to show us. I would love to see a content series on 1 vs. 1 best practices. You're army vs primary features of popular armies as you project on the meta and what you see out there. I'm sure these are a lot of work. I'm sure I would pay to see them. High-five
Told you at LVO too but I love your content man. The explanations make a complex army seem playable. I am excited to work on Skaven this year. Picked up my Gnawholes from you a few weeks ago, so there are gonna be some exciting times ahead!
It's definitely going to be the year of the Rat! The new leaked Weapons Team thing looks great, and being in the starter set bodes well for the near future.
been saying this after Jordan's first few vids, this channel will blow up in the AoS community. Quite a few content creators out trying to teach AoS, but as a beginner his videos were the only ones that the perfect formula to skyrocket my understanding of the game.
Thank you! This is a great battle report! I took a lot of inspiration! The way you explain all your choices is wonderful to improve the knowledge of the game
Thank you for your vids mate. Im a big fan for a lot of reasons but i do just wanna point out how youre really professional and that makes me wanna pay attention as a noob whos just taken up AoS. I hope the new venue leads to greater things!
Good battle rep as usual. Love how you explain why you gave away priority on Turn 2. It hurts, but was mitigated risk. Good call. Glad you doing Skaven's proud. Just unfortunate you couldn't get best Skaven general.
I love how Jordan skips the shooting phase at 14:04. I don't know if he forgot, but we all (Skaven Players) know that tails do nothing 😅. Additionally at 24:39 he could have 'unleashed hellfire' with Skreech but I don't know if he had CP left over and to be honest and again, tails do nothing. Great game. Congrats on the win!
If a tail attack spikes some damage or actually kill something impactful I'll cover it! Just the normal 0-2 damage isn't even worth mentioning haha. I don't know that I've ever Unleashed Hell with a tail attack, but hey if something has one wound left might as well gamble!
Congratulations man! Way to go. I'm sorry but the forgetting the gnawhole thing is bs. I wouldn't want to win like that. I don't care what round it is.
How did you manage to retreat with Skreech from the Varanguard using the pile in move on turn 4? When piling in, you cannot end the movement further away from the closest enemy unit. Keep this amazing content! Surely the most interesting AOS battle reports on TH-cam from learning perspective. Greetings from Spain :)
It's a Skaven Rule called Scurry Away; any Skaven hero (without a mount) when activated in combat can just retreat out of the combat instead! I got the order of those combats wrong though, as soon as he did his first fight with the Varanguard my first move was to retreat Skreech out so the Varanguard couldn't fight again and kill him.
Hello, I have a thought/question about "always tree claw steps ahead": When you pick the warpgrinder and roll for a charge, is that not the first unit to attempt a charge then? is it not that fist roll that you can choose to use for the "claw steps" battle trait? Is there perhaps an FAQ to clarify the specifics about wich roll is the roll you can use? (the first roll OR the roll of the first actual charge)?
It's the roll for the very first charge roll you make, it doesn't have to be an actual finished charge move, just the roll itself. Example being: The first charge you roll is the Drill, you fail, so you re-roll that first charge roll. It still counts as being your first roll, so now you can use that charge roll for the rest of your army whether you actually charge the drill in or not.
@@warpfireminis of course! And if the re-roll is a low roll and therefore can't be used for any other unit, you just have to roll separate charge rolls if you have more units in charge range? Thanks for replying btw.
Once you have that first roll locked in, you still get to attempt a regular charge roll with each unit, look at that result, and then choose to keep your current result, or replace it with your 3 Clawsteps charge roll.
My list clocks in at 68 models total; I personally love not having to have 100+ models on the board to compete and Age of Sigmar is more of a Skirmish style game vs. Rank and Flank. If that's more your speed though, Old World is probably the game for you! It's just Warhammer Fantasy reimagined with plenty of big blocks of dudes floating around in that one.
Right now Blizzard is making a pretty big impact in a lot of games, but with Skaven as the starter army for 4th we should see some MASSIVE changes all the way around.
I appreciate how you keep showing off new Skaven tech.
Never thought of hoping into a gnawhole to just immediately hop into another gnawhole

Well thank you, that's mighty kind of you! We've got a few things in the works, but I'll take that suggestion and see what we can do!

Gnawhole’ing the paralyzed guy was big brain
A great battle report, sincerely- your Round 5 opponent!

Watching all the things you can do with seemingly simple mechanics like the gnawholes is like a piece of art.
What a game!!! honestly, superbly played, and one of the most nail-biting reports I've seen. Looking forward to the next tournament reports!
I love your recaps! Thanks a lot! Interesting to see the way you strategize.

Thank you!
Great batrep - definitely my favorite format for great insights!! Keep it up!
Thanks again Jordan!
Super awesome battrep/recap!!! Great, thanks🎉🎉🎉 and congrats on the score✌️
Congrats! Awesome battle report as usual!🦾🐀

I don't know about that bro, loads of King's out there ;p@@warpfireminis

Great video as always!
MAY I ASKING FOR ONE QUERY ABOUT THE GENERAL VARANGUARD, IF IT SET AS A GENERAL,COULD IT TAKE THE ARTIFACTS JUST LIKE OTHER hq?
The General can't be given a Command Trait or artifact since it's not a "Hero"
@@warpfireminis THANK YOU MY BRO, SO MUCH.
Good games well played. :)
Do you think you'll make a video about how Skaven will be played after the battlescroll?
Just gonna wait out the new edition and put one up then!

Good to know, Thanks!
I bet trading 6 varanguard for 200 points felt good.
You better believe it!
I like how old Warhammer used to be lists of like 100 infantry units and now it's basically two/three big monsters and a bunch of fodder?
