  • We like special edition cars here at Daily Motor, and this Subaru Forester Wilderness is one of those. Will this age gracefully like the Eddie Bauer Explorer, FILA Thunderbird, or even the L.L Bean Outback? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

    Also, it's not faux leather. It's something completely different than leather. I've never seen leather with a golf ball dimple effect. It's more like something Seal team six jackets would be made out of. And yes, an off road oriented vehicle will have some body roll. This is as capable or more than most Jeeps and more capable than most pickup trucks and they have way more body roll and typically a less comfortable ride. Also, I didn't find it to be cheap feeling at all. But then, 35k doesn't sound cheap to me.

  • @kjamesjr

    Cheap is a matter of perspective. $35k is expensive for a lot of people.

      Yes, 35 is still expensive for lot of people, should be below 30k to call something reasonable price. Anything below 20k might be cheap.
      But the quality of this car might be worth the price.

    • @kjamesjr
      @kjamesjr 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Gopinathk17 The quality isn’t bad at at because I bought the car, but it still wouldn’t be considered “cheap” for a lot of people. The guys in the video are implying that’s it’s not luxurious. Whereas the build quality is actually very good, it just doesn’t meet their material standards.

    • @Doc1855

      Only 5% of Forester owners bought the XT in the Forester so that’s why Subaru dropped the turbo from the Forester.

    I'm literally comparing this vehicle with a CR-V touring. You should do a comparison video. I do a mix of highway driving, and I know the CR-V will hold it's value and get better MPG, but I just think I will get bored with a CR-V, even though it makes the most sense. What are your thoughts?

    I understand Charlie’s point around the hypocrisy in claiming cars aren’t exciting more but bashing trims like this at the same time, but I still just roll my eyes at this whole “tuff and rugged off-roady trim package” trend in the industry overall so hard. Friend of mine had an interesting theory tho in that he thought COVID and the pandemic was a big part of what’s led these to really take off and become fashionable since that got so many people doing way more outdoorsy stuff and then thinking to themselves, “omg we need an AdVeNtUrE RiG to haul all our GeAr!” Could be a big part of it.

      Just have to say, I live in Maine, home of L.L. Bean, and my mom had an L.L. Bean edition Outback. Subaru’s are incredibly popular here, and New England in general. And the majority of Subaru owners here use them to there full capabilities. Not just weather related, but for legit adventures. Lol As stupid as it sounds, it’s kind of a way of life. I also own an older generation of Outback, and it has seen some rough wooded roads as well as many snowy mountain roads. As well as many camping adventures. Sounds cliché, but true.
